Hello, Humorideas. At the time TheRedPenOfDoom presented you with the above Welcome template, I was about to do so because while seeing you edit the Serial killer article, I was reminded (having seen you at a different article before) that you were never given that template and that it would likely be very helpful to you since you are still a fairly new registered editor here. Other than the links TheRedPenOfDoom has provided you with above, I just want to state be careful about using text from a source too extensively; by this, I mean to make sure that the text you add is mostly worded in your own words unless it's minor wording that is not particularly unique (cannot be worded in a better way), and, that if it's exactly the source's words, to put it in quotations marks, per Wikipedia:Copyright violations. And that you also have to be careful to avoid overquoting from a source because of our Copyright violations policy (although I realize that it can be tricky to know when you are overquoting). Thanks for the welcome, y'all. The minor bits and bobs I added the other day are paraphrases, but I'll be sure to be on the lookout. --Humorideas (talk) 19:05, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit comments[edit]

Hello Humorideas, thanks for your contributions to the article about empathy. Any help is welcome. However, maybe you could comment your changes in the designated field? Thanks, 193.197.171.98 (talk) 07:16, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

reversion of edit questioning verification of DSM-5 source on psychopathy[edit]

I have reverted your source saying "verification needed" regarding psychopathic features in the alternative personality disorder model listed in the full DSM-5, because I have already verified it. For any questions or concerns, or for more information, go here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Psychopathy#DSM-5

Because this has already been verified by an editor and a specific page number provided, if you would like to see the relevant page for yourself, then please go to WP:RX to request it. --Beneficii (talk) 04:32, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for going back and rearranging it! The way you did it was perfect! --Beneficii (talk) 00:21, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Psychopathic parent[edit]

Can I interest you in doing a psychopathic parent article (as a sister to the narcissistic parent article) covering the impact of psychopath parenting on their offspring ? --Penbat (talk) 15:08, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Psychopathy in the workplace article[edit]

We have a narcissism in the workplace article. It makes sense to me to have a sister psychopathy in the workplace article.--Penbat (talk) 19:36, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Psychopathy, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sadism. References[edit]

Remember that when adding medical content please only use high-quality reliable sources as references. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations. WP:MEDHOW walks you through editing step by step. A list of resources to help edit health content can be found here. The edit box has a build in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN. We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a note. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 14:57, 18 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Also one of the refs did not even mention autism. Have summarized. Best Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 14:57, 18 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Dark Triad[edit]

The dark triad is a subject in psychology that focuses on three personality traits: narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy. This sentence links to the specific articles for each trait. This article is about the dark triad, it is not a summary of the personality traits. That information can be found in the body or from the linked articles.

All three dark triad traits are conceptually distinct although empirical evidence shows them to be overlapping. They are associated with a callous-manipulative interpersonal style. This sentence explains that the traits are "conceptually distinct", but doesn't explain how. A summary of each trait thus clarifies the statement, highlighting how they are conceptually distinct. The summary belongs under the statement.

Research on the dark triad is used in applied psychology... This paragraph didn't exist until recently, when I added it in. It explains what the dark triad is. Again, this article is about the dark triad, it is not a summary of three individual personality traits. The lead of an article is to give a quick overview on what the topic is about. In this case, it is a subject in psychology, which is used in applied psychology etc.

The previous version of this article started with this sentence The dark triad is a group of three personality traits: narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy. OK, it's a group of three personality traits. There was no explanation as to why this exists. Then it had a summary of the traits. It was a poorly written lead. Now it states that the dark triad is a subject in psychology. It's used in applied psychology within a variety of different fields. While it is a group of three different personality traits, science shows them to be overlapping etc. It concisely informs the reader about the topic.

An earlier version of this article was even worse. This is what was written before in the lead, Jakobwitz and Egan carried out a factor analysis and found agreeableness strongly dissociated with these traits, and other factors, such as neuroticism and a lack of conscientiousness, associated with some traits. What is Jakobwitz and Egan? There were no links to what agreeableness is and so on. It was terrible writing and left the reader in the dark.

If you don't understand changes people have made, please discuss it on an articles talk page, and not individual user pages (especially in regards to an IP address, whom many people may share). Thank you

Block[edit]

Just want to say this comment by Sro23 is right on the money:

However, nothing about Humorideas and Jlunke2 make me suspect sockpuppetry. Humorideas is (was) a long-term user who has been editing consistently for years; I wonder if CU made a mistake this time. As for these, I'm pretty sure that was the "real" abominable Wiki troll trolling, I don't think that was Humorideas.

I have no connection to the accounts I am allegedly associated with in that investigation, and the new Humorideas accounts created afterwards were clearly done by an impostor, probably the real sockpuppet. I'm not sure why my account was randomly blocked after all of this time and all of the constructive edits I have made over the years, a few of which have already been reverted for no reason other than the false conclusion of the investigation. It's clear to me this investigation wasn't conducted very accurately. I would say reconduct the investigation but after this I have lost motivation to support Wikipedia through editing or otherwise.Humorideas (talk) 21:49, 20 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
