Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: David Sánchez Juliao. Our verifiability policy requires that all content be cited to a reliable source. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dinka people[edit]

You recently edited the [Dinka people] article. It does tend to get overrun with self-promotion from what you rightly call non-notable people, so removing those links was a good edit. It was a mistake, however, to delete the entire list of what you call links that don't link to anything. Half of those references are scholarly paper(!) books that can be consulted in libraries, and are MUCH more authoritative than most online sources. It's true the article should give better page references, but that's not a valid reason for removing the information about the books themselves. As for the links to online sources, they are less scholarly, but the Jok Madut Jok link takes you to the info about his book which is published by Oxford University, so that too seems valid to me. I'll check on the NPR programme, and delete that link if the recording is no longer available, but if it's still there, I consider NPR an acceptable source of information too. The last ref, to the language page, does work and points to highly specialised but potentially useful info, so I don't see any reason to remove even that one. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Declined speedy deletion nomination of Deng Adut[edit]

Hello Horstvonludwig. Speedy deletion work is important and I do appreciate the effort. I would just ask that you please review the criteria carefully because accuracy is also important. On that issue, I have declined your speedy deletion nomination of Deng Adut as an article that does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the topic under CSD A7. That criterion did not apply because winning an Australian of the Year award is a credible indication of "importance or significance". Remember that CSD A7 is a lower standard than what is required to demonstrate notability – it does not, for example, require that the article's text already contain citations to reliable sources that would be necessary to prove notability, but only that it contain a claim that, were it true, might reasonably make the subject a valid encyclopaedia topic (if proper sourcing could later be found).
