You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Chile national ice hockey team requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. RadioFan (talk) 05:25, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

pre-V-League champions

Hi - I've reverted your recent edits to V-League, with a note on the talk page. The reason is that the article states that the V-League was established in 1980, and the stats refer to champions prior to that date—suggesting that they were in fact champions of separate leagues that preceded the V-League. Rather than adding them to the V-League page, we should probably figure out which leagues those teams were champions of, and create two separate articles for those leagues (say, "North Vietnam V-League" and "South Vietnam V-League"—or whatever their names actually were). Otherwise, it's a little confusing for people to see dates from the 60s and 70s listed in an article about a league established in 1980. Let me know what you think—thanks! --dragfyre_ʞןɐʇc 17:02, 18 April 2011 (UTC)

No problem - I'll get started on the North and South Vietnam articles.--Hockeyben (talk) 17:04, 18 April 2011 (UTC)

OK, great—that should work out. Thanks for adding the reference to both articles, too. It's not the highest quality reference, as it's from a USENET newsgroup (published sources are always better), but in the absence of better sources, it should do. Besides, as long as it's verifiable for now, someone can come through at a later date and add better references. I've added links in the "See Also" section of V-League so that more people know about the two articles. --dragfyre_ʞןɐʇc 17:16, 18 April 2011 (UTC)

The article 2007 West Bank Premier League has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I just made a comment on the AfD for this with a suggestion for a possibility of how to move the situation forward. You might want to have a look and see what you think - I'd be interested to hear a rationale for keeping these articles in their current form given the limited nature of the league, the content and the limited sourcing availability. Cheers. Blue Square Thing (talk) 15:46, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
Hey, I just did a rvt on your addition of the champs for 2005-06, more or less on the grounds I can't find a source just now that says if anyone won it - but I might have been a bit hasty at rvting on further review and all. I don't know if the Saipan Tribune has anything at all on this? I think it has an online archive that goes back that far - I was looking at it to source up the Mariana stadium article t'other day. Might be worth trying to take a look there and see - I'll prolly not have a chance till Friday. It'd be great if we could find something, but the whole "cancelled" thing sort of implies null and void to me. Anyway, wanted to give you some context and so on.
On another tack, how would you feel about deleting the other year championship articles now? The sources are pretty skimpy on even the most recent season as far as I can tell - the ST and the MV will both give some coverage, but it strikes me as minimal and I get the feeling that the central Championship article would prolly do the job? Be interested to hear your pov. Blue Square Thing (talk) 20:30, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

Regarding 05-06. The season was cancelled, Red rocks were in the lead, and were awarded the title. Regarding the other articles: I'm fine deleting them, just as long as the info can be added under a seasons header on the main Northern Mariana Championship page. --Hockeyben (talk) 20:34, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

OK, why don't you go ahead and do that? Then we can blank them and ask for a speedy or something. And maybe re-add the Red Rocks info (I think I was a bit hasty there), maybe with a cn tag? Blue Square Thing (talk) 20:36, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

Sounds good. I'll get to it later today.Hockeyben (talk) 20:39, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

Added results to Northern Mariana championship page. Can ask for speedy deletion of the other articles now, --Hockeyben (talk) 15:04, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

1983-84 Yemeni League

The article 1983-84 Yemeni League has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Its Fake!!

Someone else created the Knightrez account, not me. If it is me, that "Knightrez" would know where 7-Eleven near Wen Lin Road and DeXing St. is or what my favorite Xbox game is. Plus, I never wrote this: "This user is Knightrez. He created this account so stupid spammers from Shoutwiki and Wikipedia wouldn't steal it." --Amerq (talk) 23:48, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

Whats your account gonna be then? And, when you create it, message me here to prove it's you. Hockeyben (talk) 00:49, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

To prove its me, I'll message you at the wiki that me and you only know. --Amerq (talk) 04:21, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi Hockeyben! I'm posting this message on your talk page because you've recently created the new article 1991-92 Soviet League season. However, I noticed the article contains errors. The article currently does not contain any references. As a new article, the most important thing is to find reliable references for all existing information. As you know, Wikipedia is always a work in progress. Let me know if there is any way I can help. Hope you'll stick around. Thanks, Jipinghe (talk) 20:17, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I've added a source to the article and removed the unsourced notice. Thanks for letting me know, I used the following website as a source - I just forgot to add it. --Hockeyben (talk) 20:48, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

The article Phantoms Deurne has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Soviet League Seasons

Hello Hockeyben, I've noticed you have been making lots of new pages on the League Seasons. To save me some time, could you please place {{lead missing}} and {{unreferenced}} at the top of your pages. This will help me out a lot! Thanks Quiggers1P (talk) 14:35, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Okay. No problem. --Hockeyben (talk) 14:36, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Ice Hockey

When creating these, can you please put a little context in (at least mention the sport) as I've done here. Also I'm not sure if the S/U/N/Torv at the top of the tables are in English or not, but even so maybe you could just write won, drawn and lost as otherwise it's unclear for the reader. Thanks, Valenciano (talk) 17:23, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Sure, I can add a little description at the top of the page. No problem. --Hockeyben (talk) 17:25, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of KS Cracovia (ice hockey), and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.cracovia.pl.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. Autopedia

Why can't I upload images there and why is everything locked? Have we moved to another wikifarm again? -Red marquis (talk) 13:43, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

No, we haven't moved. I'll look into it. Give me five-ten minutes.Hockeyben (talk) 13:58, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

See this. The've locked the database on all wikis for some reason.--Hockeyben (talk) 14:02, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

How long is that move going to take? -Red marquis (talk) 14:16, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

Also, can we please use the same multiple upload system as on the shoutwiki version that allows us to upload 40 pics at once. That made image migration so much easier. -Red marquis (talk) 14:14, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
  1. 3 days, according to the forum page
  2. ShoutWiki hacked theirs to get 20 images at a time. Wikkii would have to do the same, I can always ask.
  3. I think we should focus on moving the 6,000 pages first, then work on the images. Seems simpler that way.--Hockeyben (talk) 14:17, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
I just want to get some images that I've had on my desktop since the crash uploaded already. We can work on the articles then. -Red marquis (talk) 16:19, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

'Kay then. I was meaning all 27,000 images from wikicars. We'll do them later. --Hockeyben (talk) 16:39, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

Well, you could try to comply with Wikipedia's policies by giving references WP:RS that actually show the notability. Up to you to show it, not for the confused patrollers to do your work for you. Does this level of ice hockey comply with WP:ATHLETE? Over to you... Peridon (talk) 22:58, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

My article is based on the French Wikipedia article. I use the same external link they use there. --Hockeyben  23:01, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

Doesn't work like that. The different language Wikipedias have different rules. Here, we insist on reliable sources. In many others, they don't. An 'own site' is normally only used as an external link, for extra info. Notability must be shown in independent coverage. The criteria for notability vary from wiki to wiki, too, as well as the referencing. Some have a review system for edits similar to the one we abandoned. (I've been waiting since June 28 for an edit on the Hungarian Wikipedia to be approved - all it is is removing a link.) Peridon (talk) 23:21, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

You're not technically required to use a source. There are loads of unsourced articles on wikip, 1956 PGA Championship for an example. --Hockeyben  23:24, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

I, Jethrobot drop me a line (note: not a bot!) 06:56, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Hello. Nice work on your articles! Could you try to use the ndash instead of the hyphen when creating season articles? That's usual practice at the English Wikipedia. You can write that symbol by holding down alt and entering 0150 on your num key (assuming the num lock is turned on). If you are unable to write it, you can write "–" or simply copy the symbol –. Regards, HeyMid (contribs) 17:39, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know and taking interest in my contributions! I did not know that I was supposed to use the ndash, but on any future season articles (I have a set on the Yugoslav Ice Hockey League coming soon) I'll be sure to use the ndash. What about the articles I've already created? Is there a bot that can change them, or just leave them as-is? --Hockeyben  17:49, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

I think there is a bot that creates redirects (based on similarities in titles), but I think it only converts hyphen to ndash and not vice versa. Also, another standard practice here is to use bold, i.e. ''' (three apostrophes), between the title at the start of the article. For example: "This was the 2010–11 [league] season." Regards, HeyMid (contribs) 17:57, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Ah, ok. Thanks for letting me know about the bold text. Should the non n-dash articles be left as-is, then? --Hockeyben  17:59, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

It may be best if they're manually moved, but I can do it for you. I see now that your first articles at this wiki had ndashes. Finally, if you want to make it clearer that you're replying to someone's message, you can use a colon at the start of your reply (one more colon than how many the comment you're replying to has). For example: ":This is my reply." Regards, HeyMid (contribs) 18:06, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for all your help! (And for offering to move the articles) --Hockeyben  18:08, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

I'm seeing a whole lot of seasons appearing on the New Page patrol from you. Most of them are missing two things, references and a lead. Autopatrolled

Hi Hockeyben. I see you've been creating lots of new articles at the moment, and I was wondering if you may wish to consider getting autopatrolled rights. This would prevent Special:Newpages and new page patrollers being flooded with new articles, and reduce their workload. You can make such a request at WP:RFPERM. Thanks, Acather96 (talk) 14:54, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi, Acather96. I had applied earlier and was declined. Do you have the ability to grant autopatrolled rights? --Hockeyben  14:55, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Hello, following a review of your contributions, I have enabled autopatrolled on your account. This does not affect your editing; rather, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

  • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
  • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
  • You can display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
  • If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! Reaper Eternal (talk) 15:17, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
