Stupid Spartan Show[edit]

The entry has been repeatedly removed as Wikipedia is not for self promotion. The series is unreleased and no notable sources have written about it, thus neutral, independent verification is impossible.--Drat (Talk) 02:26, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well until it has been noticed outside of forums, random blogs, etc. and has been the subject of non-trivial articles by at least a couple reliable sources, please do not re-insert the info or recreate the article.--Drat (Talk) 06:09, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Even if the show has been/will be released, it does not automatically justify there being an article for it. Per attribution policy and the web notability guideline, the series has to have been the subject of non-trivial works by multiple, reliable, wholly independent sources. A rundown:

  • Subject: The production needs to be the primary subject of the work , such as a magazine/newspaper article, website interview, etc. A large article which only makes passing mention of the show (along with many other shows) will not suffice.
  • Non-trivial: The work needs to be substantial. Front-page mentions on websites, listings in magazine 'cool websites' columns, etc. are not good enough. If they can't be bothered writing more than 5 sentences...
  • Reliable: The source should be professional, most-preferably peer-reviewed, and be wholly independent of the production and the people behind it. Forums and 99% of blogs (blogs written by an authority on the subject can sometimes be an exception) are right out.

As for the self-promotion accusation, I apologise, but considering the show name gets only 1 google hit (from Wikipedia's deletion archive), it highly suggests that no-one knows/cares about this outside of the team making the show.--Drat (Talk) 21:28, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Birth Dates in Fictional Character articles[edit]

Please see the Wikipedia:Manual of Style for reasons why we don't add birth dates to fictional characters. Ccrashh 12:45, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
