Unnecessary Cruft Holding Place[edit]

  • On the trip, Ida and Mary emphasized frugality, as the trip cost about two thousand US dollars.[a][1] Alexander claimed that the cost came from travel expenses and her brother's budget management services. Saxton insisted that she sould manage the finances for the entire group herself, thus reducing expenses.[2] The sisters could only carry one small bag, limiting the amount of souvenirs they could bring home. However, Saxton still brought souvenirs for her Sunday school students.[1] On the trip, Ida Saxton developed her skills converting different national currencies and navigating fluctuating exchange rates while on Grand Tour.[3]
  • While she was not studying, Saxton also went to the theater to see plays.[1]
