roger langley[edit]

yes, i would object. Try a searching for "roger langley skiing" quotes not included in search terms just designating the search. He's an important figure in the history of skiing as a sport in the United States.

There needs to be a disambiguation page at least.

Image tagging for Image:Franka Potente RLR.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Franka Potente RLR.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Visio and svg[edit]

When I first did the diagrams I attempted to upload as SVGs - however this compreshensively failed. The SVGs that visio produced seemed either unparsable (wouldn't display in firefox) - or the fonts would be screwed up quite badly (generic font, a different size in a different position). If you know of any config tweaks to visio that might resolve the problems - let me know and I'll give it a try. Thanks. Megapixie 08:40, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for moving my image to Commons[edit]

But tell me... how is it possible to have the same image name on both wiki and commons? th--Indolences 03:40, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The software looks first locally and if not found on Commons. // Liftarn

Very nice work, the lines are quite clean and nice! However, graphically the image needs some adjustments. The transparency aspect does not seem appropriate for this image and I would suggest to raster it against a white background. Second, the lung area could use some work, the lungs are not defined enough and are very hard to see. Also, it may be better that the trachea overlaps that area rather than the opposite. One minor image discrepancy you have in your image was that you did not include the tunnel of the nasal passage as I had but it is not a big deal if it is not shown. Some areas look a bit too flat and could use some more shading but that's just my preference and not a big deal. All in all, I think it is still pretty safe to leave the image I have created on the Throat article but I would not mind at all if you would like to convert that same image into .svg as long as you give me credit as the original uploader :).¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 19:42, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I love the clearness of the svg for sure! However, stylistically it still has issues. Nice job rastering it against a white background but a small part is clipped and still is transparent. The lung colors also seem to overlap each other rather than remaining inside the lines (all the components in that area such as the trachea, all seem to overlap). The label could also be diverted to the side for the lungs and use one of the black lines to point at them. I still think the first image should remain on Throat however, keep working on your raster and I'll give you my opinions :).¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 05:08, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Looking much better! Unfortunately the image still got clipped again and you have the transparency problem on the bottom (for some reason the whole background does not seem to raster white). Also, the lungs should be completely filled in and a small portion of it is not. The image is definitely shaping up though and it might be an effective replacement for Throat in an .svg version if you address all the image concerns. Nice work ;). PS: I implemented some skiptotoctalk coding my own way.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 18:40, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, I just noticed all the orphan fair use warnings on your talk page. Please try to aim to upload images that you will most certainly use. Uploading images that are not intended to be used immediately or are removed quickly after being added to an article, can become problematic sometimes.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 18:42, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Almost sufficient, first fix the minor issues I brought up. Again, good work.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 19:05, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anarcho-Primitivism[edit]

I just deleted a section entitled, "Shadoran Primitivism" from the page, "Anarcho-Primitivism." It was reverted by you despite the fact that if you actually read the section in question, it was nothing more than a block paragraph of opinions by some user. It's now been deleted by another editor, too. Please don't revert my edits without actually verifying that I did something as a "test." -128.101.53.240 21:24, 3 February 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Kept a Guy Locked In A Trunk[edit]

Why did you change my correction of "Ding Dong the witch is dead" to "...the snitch is dead". it wasn't vandalism and it wasn't a test. That's what the character Joy said in the show. It was a joke (you know, ha ha) because the guy was going to be a witness against her in a crime. Please don't revert people's edits if you don't actually know what you're talking about. 68.43.197.164 04:15, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Now three people have posts on your user page, Indolences, complaining about you reverting legitimate edits. Reverting is one thing, but putting that "your test was successful" template on my user page is, frankly, insulting. I don't know how you're screening edits, but the fact that three people have complained says something to me. My edit was so obviously legitimate that another user restored it within 24 hours. Please be more careful--this is more than a little annoying. -128.101.53.232 20:04, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Indolences,
Just a few things I would like to tell you

1. If you seriously wanted to know what was 'with' my username you stuffed any chance of finding out.

2. No. If a sign said "if you are 25 years, 3 months and 21 days old and live in Colchester please accept $200" and you were, would you take it? And I wouldn't worry about being flattered from someone nominating one of your images.

3. Thanks, although can't return your compliment as your photos all look dreadful

You know, you really should apply your philosophy on userpages to the comments you leave on people's userpages. Oh and finally, thanks for ruining my day. --Fir0002 05:10, 12 February 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Lexus emblem[edit]

Greetings, I have a request for you and your SVG/Inkscape abilities. Is it possible for you to convert:

to a SVG with transparent background, then upload it as a new version of Lexus_emblem.svg?? If would be really great if you would do that. After some photoshop work, I have finished a version of the emblem which incorporates the usual silver color. Note: when making the background transparent, if you can avoid deleting the light-colored shadow effect at the lower edges of the logo/titles, that would be fantastic. Thanks for your attention and your help will be appreciated! Sincerely, Enigma3542002 08:39, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Have you received my message? Alternatively, if you can explain how to make the image background transparent in Inkscape (there is no equivalent to the magic wand or lasso tool as in Adobe, AFAIK), I would really appreciate it. Enigma3542002 00:11, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Got your message, thx for helping. I hope the transfer to SVG is not too difficult; I realize that the PNG has imperfections, particularly in the way the curves on the outer edges of the logo are rendered. Hopefully those issues won't be too big of a problem. Enigma3542002 23:24, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, just to let you know I have made some edits (too many LOL), if you have a chance to work on it, the latest one is preferred. Thanks again! Enigma3542002 04:32, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is it possible perhaps for you to detail what the steps are for converting the PNG to SVG in Inkscape? Maybe I could try it for myself. I have been trying to get other free programs to work, with limited success. Inkscape is the most functional but it doesn't have the lasso or magic wand tools which I use extensively in Photoshop. Enigma3542002 06:14, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Would it be easier if it were an EPS file to begin with? Enigma3542002 06:59, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have tested out combining multiple layers of various logo components in Inkscape, when I open the completed file in Firefox it shows up as a logo with the beveled edges...so is it not possible to convert a BMP logo into an SVG? Or a PNG? Enigma3542002 07:15, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thx for the replies, I will look more tomorrow to see if there are flash materials/PDFs with the Lexus logo. I did originally base the logo on this flash introduction seen here: www.lexus.com/autoshow where the Circle-L logo is seen during the loading sequence, but I have no way to capture that other than by taking a screenshot. The thing is, the silver logo has to be adjusted to show up properly with a light-colored background, which is why the current Lexus site uses a hybrid silver/black logo. The logo I made is properly calibrated for the silver/gray appearance on the infobox background. I will continue looking tomorrow. Thanks for your help. Enigma3542002 09:51, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good day to you again, I have worked on a logo in Inkscape and uploaded it to Wikipedia. I think there was a compatability issue as the SVG file does not render in thumbnail form, and for some reason despite being saved as Basic SVG, some elements are missing. The item shows up in full when opened with IE or Firefox however. And when I downloaded the SVG from the wikipedia page, and reopened it, the whole image is there. Would you please take a look and let me know if this can be adjusted to 'fit' wikipedia? Thanks.

Thanks again Enigma3542002 04:16, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The latest uploaded SVG shows up fully in original form on IE and Firefox, but parts are again missing when uploaded + won't show on main page. Also when downloaded the parts are still missing. Enigma3542002 08:08, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think I got it to work now, I will be making some adjustments and uploading later. Thx for the help over the past few days. Enigma3542002 22:21, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Myspace Tom Profile.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Myspace Tom Profile.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. AfD nomination of List of Sublime bootlegs[edit]

An editor has nominated List of Sublime bootlegs, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Sublime bootlegs and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. License tagging for Image:NASCAR.svg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:NASCAR.svg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 02:08, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

GM[edit]

Nice work on User:Indolences/gm, it looks good. The reasons for deleting the article originally are complicated (I can go over it if you like, but I'll spare you the windage now), the result being that it's not my decision to repost it or not. I can point you to where it can be discussed and decided though: Wikipedia:Deletion review. You might want to read Wikipedia:Undeletion policy for more info.

FYI, during the discussion the main point of contention will probably be whether GM is notable or not rather than whether it's sourced properly. (Sourcing is necessary for articles, but whether something should be an article in the first place is a matter of notability.) For info on that, Wikipedia:Notability in general and Wikipedia:Notability (web) specifically will help.

The links in the references could use titles and dates-retrieved to give the article a bit more polish before nominating it as the replacement for undeletion. The {{cite web}} template is useful for that.

Good luck! — Saxifrage 17:59, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thankyou for your message.

Firstly, you have no evidence no one is looking for the other Sealands, so sealand should go to a disambig page.

Secondly "the illegal squatter family of Paddy Roy Bates" is not bias, it is a statement of fact.

Finally, I have no idea what relevance Washington has. :-/

Deliberate misspelling[edit]

Hi, I was wondering if you could explain your reasoning behind removing the Slade sentence in the Deliberate misspelling article? It seemed perfectly relevant to me. Thanks. --Jameboy 23:46, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Because naming a bunch of songs by an artist is not as notable as the band's name being a misspelling. I could add the Alabama 3 song "U dont danse 2 tekno anymore" but it's just one song on one album. And it seems like one of those references to things only a few people are aware of but you really like (eg one time when I was new to wikipedia I added a pic to the Walk of Fame page with the Sublime (at the time just about the only thing I listened to) star on the walk. ) I can't explain why people (myself at one time included) do this, but It's one of those identity things... -Indolences 03:34, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I see your point and agree that there are potentially hundreds of songs with deliberately misspelled titles. However I believe that the information on Slade is particularly notable for two reasons. First, all the songs listed reached Number 1 in the UK singles chart, and second there are several songs, not just one, and as it says in the Slade article, they were noted for their deliberate misspelling. Incidentally I do not consider myself a fan of the band, nor do I own any of their recordings. --Jameboy 12:06, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - a stub template or category which you created has been nominated for deletion or renaming at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion. The stub type, which was not proposed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, does not meet the standard requirements for a stub type, either through being incorrectly named, ambiguously scoped, or through failure to meet standards relating to the current stub hierarchy or likely size, as explained at Wikipedia:Stub. Please feel free to make any comments at WP:SFD regarding this stub type, and in future, please consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 00:54, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, since {{Kiribati-stub}} by definition would be for all stubs relating to Kiribati that aren't covered by other stub types - that is, it should only be used for non-geographical articles. Naming it that way and saying it's only for geopgraphical articles is a direct contradiction in terms, and against stub naming guidelines. Kiribati-stub should be just that, not a second Kiribati-geo-stub. Also, as few redirects as possible are used with stub sorting, since template redirects put added strain on Wikipedia's servers. Grutness...wha? 01:12, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The new stub looks a lot better - I'll comment further at SFD. Grutness...wha? 06:57, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

div id?[edit]

Hi, I noticed your edit to the userbox I created. I have no problem - I'm just curious why you added the "id" tag, since I'm not familiar with how or where that attribute is used. Should userboxes in general contain id tags? I'm interested also because I would prefer userboxes I create in the future to be as complete as possible. What's up with the tag? Nihiltres(t.c.s) 16:48, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aha, yes it would allow CSS to fiddle with it. That's fine, some users don't like userboxes, and it's convenient for anyone who wants to use a div id with it. Nihiltres(t.c.s) 16:56, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi.

First, I'd like to ask exactly how you know that "Nobody is coming to the "i" page looking for apple computer products"?

Second, I didn't add the link to this page myself, and looking at the edit of the person who did, I'd say your characterisation of them as a "fanboy" isn't altogether accurate. Also, I have never edited the target page and have no particluar interest in doing so. However, both of us (the anonymous IP and myself) obviously consider lowercase i prefix a legitimate article to wikilink to from this page. I can't see anything in WP:DAB or WP:MOSDAB which supports deleting it from this page. I think it's especially important to include it as I don't think the page title is particularly intuitive, and I could perfectly understand someone typing "I" in the search box, going first to I and then following the {{dablink}} template link at the top of the page to come here. Your removal of the link is causing a "dead end" in that circumstance, and I'm not seeing how Wikipedia or its readers are benefitting from that. Regards, --DeLarge 22:52, 18 May 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Star Wars Logo.svg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Star Wars Logo.svg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. AFD discussion[edit]

Hello, you participated in the AfD discussion for Lowercase i prefix. That discussion was closed with a "keep" decision but I felt there was enough consensus to warrant merging the information to Internet-related prefixes. I have placed a comment regarding my decision to go ahead and perform this merge on the talk page here and as you participated in the original discussion wished to alert you to this action and invite you to comment if you felt it was inappropriate. Thanks! Arkyan • (talk) 06:06, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't a double redirect, it was a redirect. Redirects are afeature, not a bug. If it was a double redirect Lowercase i prefix would take you to another redirect page, and redirects to redirects do not take you to a third page. Please read WP:REDIRECT to see the difference, specifically WP:REDIRECT#Don't fix links to redirects that aren't broken.

Please also note that as per WP:MOSDAB#Piping guidelines, there are only three exceptions when piping should be used, and this isn't one of them.

I know you don't like the article, but there was a consensus to keep the content, and I'm going to continue to maintain the dab page according to Wikipedia guidelines. --DeLarge 07:42, 30 May 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Palmyra Atoll is, of course, a part of the homeland of the United States (that is: it is not an unicorporated territory). On the page Territorial evolution of the United States we see numerous maps which show the entire area that will ever become an incorported part of the United States. Palmyra Atoll is not shown on the map though. This island's peculiar history and status demands that it be shown on every map just like every other incorporated territory. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia 03:17, 26 June 2007 (UTC) [reply]

line islands[edit]

I believe that all the line islands listed in the Line Islands article are in the Category:Line Islands either at the category or article level. I may have removed some, but I put them back several hours ago after I did more reading. Hmains 04:57, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Your insulting language is not acceptable; continue and this conversation will cease. The category Category:Jarvis Island is in the Line Islands category, making the article Jarvis Island an unnecessary double level category. Hmains 05:06, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Franka Potente RLR.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Franka Potente RLR.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. fuzzy510 21:19, 5 August 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Potente image[edit]

It was deleted because "gtfo my wikipedia you nazi zealots" is not exactly a convincing argument. The concern was that it did not meet the requirements for fair-use because a free image of Franka Potente could be easily obtained and you failed to address this. Hence the deletion. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Coastal Party Logo.svg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Coastal Party Logo.svg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 01:39, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Danske_Forsvars_logo.svg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Danske_Forsvars_logo.svg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Lowercase tag[edit]

Twice now you've removed the lowercase tag from e-book, stating that "Wikipedia is not Wiktionary". Properly naming articles is a requirement of the Manual of Style, and in particular Wikipedia:Naming conventions (technical restrictions)#Lower case first letter applies here. Image:Att_svg.svg[edit]

I have tagged Image:Att_svg.svg as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. If this image is being used as a link target instead of displayed inline, please add {{not orphan}} to the image description page to prevent it being accidentally marked as orphaned again. Alpta 17:40, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Att_svg.svg[edit]

I have tagged Image:Att_svg.svg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. Alpta 23:30, 14 September 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Fair use disputed for Image:NASCAR.svg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:NASCAR.svg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. Foundation issues[edit]

Hmm, several comments you have on your user page seem to state that you disagree with some of the m:Foundation issues. Hmmm... it's not like I want to get rid of you or anything (seriously, you seem like a nice dude! :-) ) but have you looked around at some other wiki sites to see if you might agree with one of those more?

Oh, and the above image uploads, yeah, that kind of sucks. :-/ There's all kinds of legal issues with images and other multimedia that we simply never have with text, and we really need to do some more thinking on how to get this through to people in a more user friendly way, so that nobody's time is wasted and everyone can be more productive. :-)

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Cal Logo.svg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:04, 16 September 2007 (UTC). General Mayhem[edit]

  • I have deleted this article as it has been AFD'd and deleted and been upheld at deletion review numerous times. Using an alternate title to circumvent article protection is not a solution. I suggest creating the article in your user space and submitting it to deletion review if you have found new reliable sources which adequately discuss this website/forum. The links you have cited provide little to no commentary on the website itself (some don't even mention it) and provide only brief mentions at most. The rest are either not appropriate sources in that they are either references to forum posts or are otherwise primary references only or general listings (bigboards, whois). You can of course discuss your issues with me, but if you genuinely feel that you have sufficient material to maintain this article without using original research or almost entirely primary sources, I suggest you seek a wider audience at DRV. The category and banner were added based on the fact that the Kingdom of Enenkio claims it. That "state" is counted as a Micronation, and its claim on Wake Island and that territory takes up a significant portion of that article. Also, for what little it's worth, the Micronations project, which is admittedly small, also doesn't have that many articles do work with, so the chances of its improving the article in an NPOV way are probably better than those of the other projects that work with the article. I myself am not extraordinarily active with the project right now, but on the conclusion of my own current activities I'm going to be working with that project as much as any other whose userboxes I have greedily acquired for myself, and Wake Island is an important article. Feel free to remove the tags, but the Micronations project's interest in the article will almost certainly do the article more good than harm. John Carter 22:40, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are free to act on your opinions. However, please note that the Kingdom of Enenkio is included in the Category:Micronations, and that the category Wake Island was placed in is a subcategory of that category. If anyone wished to change the categorization of Enenkio, they would be free to suggest doing so. However, considering that the definition of micronation is itself a matter of dispute, that would almost certainly be an uphill fight. John Carter 22:27, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
