Speedy deletion nomination of Emanuel Benjamin Asscher[edit]

Hello HellsKitchen234,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Emanuel Benjamin Asscher for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Jimmy Savile[edit]

Re this edit: the image was removed because it seems doubtful that it is your own work. Images found on other websites should not be uploaded to Wikipedia or Commons as they are usually copyrighted and fail WP:NFCC. If it is your own work, please upload it at the original camera resolution, ideally with the Exif data available. Very small images with no Exif data set off suspicions that the image has been borrowed from somewhere else.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 07:19, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

John Anderson (Titanic) moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, John Anderson (Titanic), has no sources and citations and so cannot remain published. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your page to draft space (with a prefix of Draft: before the article title) where you can work on it with minimal disruption. When you feel that it meets our notability and neutrality requirements, and is thus ready for mainspace, please submit it using the Articles for Creation template on the page. Please stop adding unsourced content[edit]

Hi! Please stop adding unsourced content to this project. One of our basic principles is that all content in the encyclopaedia must be verifiable by reference to WP:independent reliable sources. Without those sources, your additions are likely to be removed. You've created a good number of pages about people that appear near to have been mentioned in any book or other reliable source – Canus Fulcinius Vindex is an example. Where did you get that information from? Of course, if for some reason you are just making stuff up, your time here is likely soon to come to an end. Please make sure that you cite a source when making any edit from now on. Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 15:36, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The three articles above were copied from Historica Wiki, a site that reads, "Please be warned, this website is not entirely factual" on its front page. Please don't do that again, HellsKitchen234. - Eureka Lott 16:04, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've also reverted your edit to toast, which was not only unsourced but also obviously unhelpful, to the point of almost being vandalism. Please follow Justlettersandnumbers' sage advice above and slow down; find and cite reliable sources for all the content that you add. Best, Wham2001 (talk) 17:41, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please follow the instructions for infobox use given at the above link. "residence" is only used if different from birthplace. "citizenship" is only used if different from nationality. DrKay (talk) 21:15, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The page Draft:John Anderson (Titanic) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from https://www.encyclopedia-titanica.org/titanic-survivor/john-anderson.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion Review DrKay (talk) 21:26, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for November 4[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Cleveland Abbe, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page New York (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:52, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits to Cnut the Great while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. Celia Homeford (talk) 15:27, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
