Please preview, consolidate, and summarize[edit]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Thanks!

Below are a few editing suggestions to make it easier for you and others to collaborate on the encyclopedia. Please preview, consolidate, and summarize your edits:

  • Try to consolidate your edits, at least at the section level, to avoid cluttering the page's edit history; this makes it easier for your fellow editors to understand your intentions, and makes it easier for those monitoring activity on the article.
    • The show preview button (beside the "publish changes" button) is helpful for this; use it to view your changes incrementally before finally saving the page once you're satisfied with your edits.
  • Please remember to explain each edit with an edit summary (box above the "publish changes" button).

Thanks in advance for considering these suggestions. Eric talk 19:22, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

David, thanks for this advice. I am just now starting to understand how this works.. (and I am a slow learner!!) I have just begun to understand the advantages of the preview button. I have come late to this wikipedia exercise but I will improve. Thanks for your patience. [[[User:HadamarMan|HadamarMan]] (talk) 19:51, 2 December 2020 (UTC)]

Disambiguation link notification for December 3[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Janet Doub Erickson, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Beacon Hill. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

September 2021[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Winchester High School (Massachusetts), as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Gab4gab (talk) 16:30, 11 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
