You know, I'm getting rather annoyed at Deterence's soapboxing. Since the last time you yourself warned him, he has continued to engage in making polemical statements which have provoked comments from other users in WP:ITN/C. He has additionally removed the sections of his talk page that accuse him of doing so. He has been at it again

If you remember the Blood on the Dance Floor incident, This guy has taken it way too far, as I've said before on how anything I'll tell him, he won't listen. I've warned him twice and told him on countless occasions the rules of Wikipedia such as MOS:TM, correctly sourcing content and consensus. But instead of doing all those things, he still continued to make those disruptions as you've remembered from before. It's time for his block, I'm sick of babysitting this article all because of him, and also note if you remember, I'm not the only one that was having a problem with him. He's been a disruption to several. His ARV report has been filled out by me and if you're quick enough you could probably catch it right now. Negros (disambiguation)

Could you please explain this. WP:PTM, which I quoted in the edit summary, clearly says "Do not add a link that merely contains part of the page title, or a link that includes the page title in a longer proper name, where there is no significant risk of confusion." Compare also WP:DDD: "Don’t add every article that contains the title.". The two bird names I removed are exact matches for that; they are never known just as "Negros", but always their full names. There were a bunch more related redirects that got deleted, including swab (programming), ltoa. From my reading of WP:Speedy deletion#G8, the criterion would only apply to implausible redirects, and since there is a fair amount of recent discussion on these pages I think they should at least be considered plausible. Anyhow, I ask if there are any previous versions of these pages that do not redirect to C miscellaneous operations, then those versions be restored instead of being completely deleted. I concur with this request, and/or would appreciate a list of the deleted redirects so that those with reasonable alternate targets can be retargetted. For example, qsort should quite reasonably be redirected to Quicksort rather than having been deleted entirely. Also, nice lolcat :-) --Cybercobra (talk) 08:53, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
OK:
    • G8 applies to broken redirects (ie, redirects to targets that don't exist, usually because the target article has been deleted as in this case); R3 is for completely implausible redirects.
    • swab was previously a very short article before it was redirected to the now-deleted C miscellaneous operations
    • ltoa was also previously a very short article, which was redirected to C miscellaneous operations due to lack of notability.
Since neither was redirected as a result of a consensus decision so far as I can see, I can restore the previous stubs if you want, but I can't guranteee they won't be AfD's. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 11:52, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

Please look again. There were two "References" subheadings on the page. The first held all the footnotes. The second was blank, except for the actual subheading. I removed it. You reverted my edit, so now the article looks silly again. You also issued a vandalism warning to the IP address I'm at today. At minimum, would you please self revert? Hello, you recently deleted my post! I used correct sources and the post was relevant. You live in England how do you know what happens in South Africa?? This incedent is all over our press and media at the moment. This damaged the school! I should know I am a parent of a child who goes there!! I think you need to google things that you dont know about before you delete them. I thought wiki was a place to learn with credible sources but if you are all going to just be from another country with NO knowledge what so ever then I can safley say that wiki is a site full of ignorant information! An unfortuante side effect of edit wars is that the semi is also removed when the full protection expires. We could do with a way of fixing that, really. Wow - ok - don't drop out this time. As I think a bit of new blood is always a good idea and I think you would not break the arbcom, I will look at supporting you. Although I found it a great experience, and am proud to have made it to the end and appreciative for the ninety odd users that trusted me, I will not be standing again in the foreseeable future - I would like to have the ability to help with RFPP and blocking clear vandals and closing AFD discussion and other simple admin tasks like that - moving protected page requested and userfy-ing of previously deleted pages and such similar issues that are easy to do if you have a general all round level of experience, but at present with the way the system works and the way privileges are bundled together it's not on my upcoming agenda. Well that report had gone unactioned for 13 hours. The average response time at AIV is under 5 minutes in my experience. Where to take it if they resume depends on whether it's effectively a difference of opinion (in which case I would try WP:DRN in the first instnace]]), or a matter of disruptive editing, but not sufficiently black and white for it to be actioned at AIV (in which case WP:ANI is probably your best bet). It's only a small range (a few hundred IPs), but the calculation was only based on two IPs—he might have access to a larger range, and the larger the range, the greater the risk of collateral damage. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, and so presents just the facts—any embellishment or glossing over is not allowed, and the tone must be in keeping with what you would expect from an encyclopaedia, not an organisation's "about us" page.     • You're missing the point. The music is copyrighted. The copyright is held by either the band or the record company. You do not have the rights to distribute it, much less under a Creative Commons license. You can only release your own work, and distribute work which has already been explicitly released. Whether your use of copyrighted material qualifies as fair use or not is a matter for you, but we cannot use it on Wikipedia, because we apply a deliberately much higher standard than the law does because our goals include the promotion of free content (that is, content that has been released under a suitable license by the copyright holder—simply stating it is licensed as CC-By-SA does not make it so, especially when it is owned by a third party who would be extremely reluctant to release it under a free license because that would remove their opportunities to make money from it. Might need to enlist your help for a quick moment if you agree with my thoughts here.

Heavenly Christmas used to circularly redirect to Jackie Evancho discography as it was not a notable release at the time. Now that it's come out and charted, it's notable and has an article. That's all fine and dandy. My only issue was that my advice to use Heavenly Christmas was bypassed (in error I'm sure, being new probably didn't understand what I meant) and the article instead got a newly created location of Heavenly Christmas (Jackie Evancho). No other article exists for an album of this name, I think (Ssilvers happened to note another in the Billboard 200 that is not, well, "articled"), so is it wrong for me to think it should go right at Heavenly Christmas and, if another is needed with that title someday, we can move things around at that time? It would be pointless NOT to have that title used for something, I believe, but it will someday be a DAB (which would then provide the option for Heavenly Christmas (Jackie Evancho album), a more appropriate title than the one used); for now, with only one related article, it should be the article.

If I am right in my thinking, I'll need the Heavenly Christmas redirect deleted and merged with the article at Heavenly Christmas (Jackie Evancho) (which I've helped in editing at the current location for now) moved to the newly opened and moved to the former location. deletion of page for C++ Function ITOA - Was that really necessary?

I noticed today after a browser restart that the page I had open on the programming function ITOA was missing. I happened to actually have been in the midst of learning something off of that, so thanks. The chances are it was a broken redirect (I don't derlete much else at the minute), in which case your beef is probably with the admin who delted the apge it redirected to rahter than with me. I have a question about your rationale

I'll grant I was a participant in the discussion, but I can't agree with your close on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hero's 10. To my eyes this was a clear delete. One long time editor, one new account, and two ips made essentially the identical argument, that a body of notable participants constitutes a notable event. Can you point out the policy or guideline with which this agrees? The nominator did respond with the model reply to the argument: notable participants don't necessarily make an event notable. In previous MMA and kickboxing deletion procedures, this argument has proved unpersuasive precisely because the assertion is not a criteria of WP:EVENT. I'll concede big events tend to make key participants notable, but the converse is not even an essay, much less a guideline or policy. Especially because of the enormous amount of socking and ip promotion typically involved in these combat event page deletion procedures, this outcome is disappointing. Need assistance regarding a user who continues to troll Cung Le articles

Hi, I just wanted to know if you can help edit or help me contact someone regarding a specific user who refuses to acknowledge any proof that I have provided regarding a recent error by the UFC.

The specific user in question is Glock17gen4. His only evidence is a picture based on a mistake by UFC production, where MMA fighter Cung Le has already responded that he did not know about, yet Glock17gen4 refuses to accept that and continues to revert Cung Le's Nationality as a current Vietnamese national.

I have provided significant proof in both discussions at the UFC 139 and Cung Le's articles. Please take a look. Cung Le has acknowledged both his American nationality and his Vietnamese heritage (especially with the 3 striples flag which represents the fallen Saigon). I hope you can help. Both his website at CungLe.com and UFC.com profile describe him as a Vietnamese-American and he quoted as calling himself an American Wushu champion. Second Liverpool Wikimeet

Hi Harry, it was good to meet you yesterday. Hope you got home safely.
As discussed, I suggest that we hold the next Liverpool Wikimeet (and I'm hoping that there will be another) at the Richard John Blackler pub (a.k.a. Wetherspoons) on the corner of Elliot Street and Great Charlotte Street. It's an easy walk from the station, is youngster friendly, has wi-fi, serves food and (most importantly) proper beer. As for when, I would suggest late January or February, probably a weekend. What do you reckon? Do you want to do the page or shall I?

I ask that you take another look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hero's 10, which you just closed, as well as the related Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SuperKombat (2nd nomination), which is still open. As with the latter AfD, the one that you have closed has been tainted by multiple !voting among IPs and registered users (which I cannot make that connection per the WMF Privacy Policy). At a minimum those two "keep" !votes from those IPs in that AfD should be discounted and the consensus reassessed. –MuZemike 18:29, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
