Combine tables[edit]

Combine tables are not a separate section. If they are relevant add them at the top of the Professional Career section. Also, if they aren't particularly relevant, such as only doing one or two drills or just doing the measurements, it is better to just write that out. Best, GPL93 (talk) 16:02, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up GPL93 - I thought it made more sense to put it in a separate section as they are technically not professional players when they attend the combine, I will just put it under the Professional Career section in future. I see a lot of the ones I added have now been removed. I thought they were useful even if if they only did one or two measurements, as it was a handy place to list wingspan and hand span. Will keep this in mind going forward and only edit if they completed more than a couple of drills. All the best. Guyosaurus (talk) 16:32, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. It takes a bit to figure everything out. A good rule of thumb is to think about how relevant the combine was to that specific player. For instance, Quez Watkins' combine performance is very relevant because he went from likely being undrafted to a 6th round pick because of it. While certain statistics are important to a players career and biography, Wikipedia is also not a collection of every statistic attached to an athlete. If you ever have any questions, just ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject National Football League, you are also more than welcome to join the project yourself. Yes there is indeed a lot to figure out, feel a bit overwhelmed! Just trying to go step by step, like learning a language. What you say makes sense, thanks for detailing it. Also thanks for pointing out the Project NFL- I'll be sure to check that out soon! Have a good one. Guyosaurus (talk) 16:45, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Hari Budha Magar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.haribudhamagar.com/about/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  Velella  Velella Talk   16:28, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:Velella, thanks for drawing this to my attention. I will copy and paste my reply that I already posted somewhere else. Want to reiterate I will go through the page to ensure there is no copyright infringement before requesting publishing. Please do not delete the page.

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... The web-page it is taken from was written by me, and is about the same subject. I copied some of the text and have tweaked, changed & added bits to make more Wikipedia suitable. I will go through this article again before publishing to try to ensure that there is no copyright issue.

I have also referenced almost everything in the article.

If you have any further information about which bits are copyright infringements or still need referencing, I will rectify them or change them. Happy to work with you to make the page suitable, but PLEASE DO NOT DELETE IT! I have actually put a lot of time and effort into it...

Thank you.

March 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Girth Summit. Your recent edit(s) to the page Parapsychology appear to have added incorrect information, so they have been reverted for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Girth Summit (blether) 07:59, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi Guyosaurus! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Parapsychology several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Parapsychology, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Girth Summit (blether) 08:04, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thanks for suggesting I don’t get into an edit war - sounds reasonable! I’m unable to add sources via mobile so maybe you could revert to my edit and add this source?

My wording is more accurate. It was a small yet important change.

Thank you! Guyosaurus (talk) 08:07, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You can propose the change, supported by that source, on the article's talk page. However, I personally doubt that you would gain a consensus that a paper published in the Journal of Scientific Exploration is a reliable source an assertion of this nature. Girth Summit (blether) 08:46, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It seems in the end the consensus agreed with me about the wording being incorrect. The page never ended up going back to (or didn't stick with) the incorrect wording that was there before. Also, it's pretty funny that you spoke negatively about the Journal of Scientific Exploration but the Skeptical Inquirer is used regularly as a source on this site.
