Batik information[edit]

I think we do not need to cover World Batik summit in the article. I do not want to use the article as a platform for a political/economic propaganda. It blurs the article focus. We already mentioned it is supported by Gov't in popularity section. I am passionate about batik, for 3 generations my family had worked on batik. Thou my father decided not to continue the business and now he's too old. The gov't should not be meddling too much on artisan's work and let creativity flow. It should help, but don't meddle too much. I don't like how Mari is targeting batik production, she's not aiming for quality product, only quantity for sale. Good things happen to good people, so do good (talk) 15:58, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Majapahit-map.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Majapahit-map.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:06, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Image for Majapahit[edit]

Dear Gunkarta, Thanks for making updates to Majapahit Empire. Can you fix/remove/adjust the image? It's badly harming the page. In the future, please don't leave a change if it's fouled up like that. Cheers, --Smilo Don 19:38, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Gunkarta, on second thought, I really object to the map. Please see the talk page. Maybe you can discuss it there? Talk:Majapahit Empire Sorry for the strong objection--I don't mean to discourage your contribution, but this type of map really touches a nerve. --Smilo Don 20:02, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Editing on WP; Majapahit[edit]

Dear Gunkarta, Thanks so much for getting involved with Wikipedia. Understandably, you feel strongly about Majapahit, but please respect the Talk page. You can reopen the discussion, but you can't just decide to ignore it. Personally, I don't even think the map should be included in its current form, but the other editors prevailed. As a compromise, a note was put on the map to note that it can't be completely relied upon. Please have a look at the the Welcome above, and have a look at WP:3RR. Don't worry--many editors are sympathetic to your position about the Majapahit. Just make your case on the Talk page and WP:3RR before editing the map's caption any more. Cheers, --Smilo Don 18:39, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Categories[edit]

When constructing articles - better a stub tab or if you know exactly which ones - categories - at the bottom of the page are good insurance - in more ways than one - and also the Indonesian project tag on the discussion page - it will keep various issues at bay if you can place them as soon as you are editing the article in mainspace SatuSuro 00:20, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RatuBoko[edit]

Is definitely a contestable article - it first read like a non english speakers lift from a cerita rakyat - the now available scholarship makes some of the claims by the unsourced argument questionable - i just never got back to do a re-write (too many projects in hand) - cheers SatuSuro 01:35, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your image inserted in Borobudur[edit]

Gunkarta, why do you always push images you uploaded here should be included in an article? Borobudur has a lot of images already in Commons:Category:Borobudur. We pick pictures that relate to the text given in the article. Could you please read again Wikipedia guidelines, esp: Wikipedia:Guide_to_layout#Images. There states: You should always be watchful not to overwhelm an article with images by adding more just because you can.Indon (reply) — 07:32, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Gajah Mada.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Gajah Mada.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 13:03, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Commons...[edit]

Hello there. You seem to be uploading a number of pics to wikipedia. Have you thought of adding these to "commons" instead? It's my strong recommendation this is a better way to go for any future uploads. It's where I put my photos for wikipedia. One photo can be used easily across a number of wikipedia's - ie, Indonesian, Javanese, Japanese, whichever. It's the same process to upload - in fact it may be easier. This is the upload page. Once it is uploaded, you simply link it into the article the way you are doing now. Any questions, please let me know. --Merbabu (talk) 00:46, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

References...[edit]

Please do not add anything to wikipedia without reliable references. This means scholarly content, not lower quality sources. Also, in-line cites are far more useful, in fact, a general list of references is not so helpful. I know you are not the only one so please don't take offense. Ie, i notice this change. Keep up the good work. regards --Merbabu (talk) 04:37, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please ensure that all info has very good references. This is a fundamental and non-negotiable principle of wikipedia, which will continued to be demanded. Info added without references should be removed immediately. thanks. --Merbabu (talk) 21:13, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"See also" sections[edit]

...sorry, another thing. It's not wikipedia practice to repeat a link in a "See Also" section if the link is already in the article. Ie, regarding these changes], we don't need Sailendra or Borobudur in See also, because they are listed in the article. cheers. --Merbabu (talk) 04:54, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

May 2008[edit]

This is english wikipedia - that is WP EN, it really does look like you need to stick with WP IN - bagaimana?

When on the English-language Wikipedia, please always use English, tetapi saya harus coba bahasa saya - sudah banyak kesalahan dan kasar untk membuat keterangan tentang WP EN.

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Majapahit&diff=215741834&oldid=215491696 Reverence - sama dengan bersembah, atau dalam bahasa Jawa - pundhi - untuk give respect to - dalam WP EN, if you put any statement into an article - it needs a reference - source - citation- sebab dalam WP EN - we have WP:N, WP:RS, WP:V, and we want to know where the information came from.

Please consider whether you would prefer maybe WP IN better? Thank you SatuSuro 00:27, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah that's my mistake...., often miss-type f to v... thanks for you correction...

What is wikipedia not all about[edit]

Can you do it more nicely without humiliating or patronizing other contributors? Oh yeah, I want to congratulate you for suceed to become one of my least favourite person here in wikipedia. - found at Merbabu Talk page.

(edit conflict)"D'oh..! Its commonly known that Indonesian motto Bhinneka Tunggal Ika was originated in Sutasoma poem by Mpu Tantular, I haven't met the reverence yet, why user: Merbabu soo rigid about reverence." Apart from being uncivil, your edit summary suggests you still don't understand wikipedia fundamentals. I've seen on Indonesia wikipedia that "common knowledge" is the criteria for inclusion, but not on en. No reference, no addition, no arguments. cheers --Merbabu (talk) 12:31, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there - mungkin itu - kesalahan terlalu besar? Kalau bisa - try to be more polite - sopan - because in Wikipedia EN - we have some rules WP:AGF and others - if you dont like your mistakes being corrected - maybe you should edit at WP:IN ?

If you feel humiliated, patronized by an editor - there are possibly issues that you need to consider - if your english is not going well - maybe you could consider improving WP:IN - rather than having problems at WP:EN. SatuSuro 09:57, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear, Satu Suro and Merbabu..., thank you for your suggestion for me to get back to WP:IN, and enlightening me in WP fundamentals. But no thanks, I still want to do more contributions to WP:EN as well as in WP:IN. Soo you can expect me to lurking around here in many WP:EN articles, you're all welcome to edit my terrible english or any my unreferenced source anytime. Just bring it on.

I admit there's some of my mistakes I've done here. But I can see that some editor here are realy hmm..., too rigid about reference. If that what WP:EN fundamental is, well what can I say..? my mistakes. However, can you fill in the request for reference rather than rushing to "overkill" an article by erasing or undo it, because its not a mistake at all that Bhinneka Tunggal Ika was taken from Sutasoma book from Majapahit era. Your deletion of "unreferenced truth" has made me snap. Toned down your somewhat 'patronizing' comments, and I'll try to be more "civilized" too. Btw, I haven't dig my old Pendidikan Moral Pancasila text book to gave requested reference, then again..., whatever lah... Therefore I'll try to enrichen my reference sorce and perfected my english, thus try my best NOT to have any problems or any business with you both, or felt being humiliated or patronized by you all "kuncen sesepuh" here in WP:EN. Cheers and Goodbye, <(Gunkarta (talk) 12:43, 8 June 2008 (UTC)). 208.110.17.141 (talk) 09:11, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to not understand what wikipedia is about - try reading through a welcome page again and stop trying to place blame on those who wish to correct you - that is a very small picture view - the wikipedia project is the bigger picture - you have to understand if we did not try to help you - then there are other editors who would do it with less politeness than we try - orang sudah kasar - tampah bahasa atau understanding of where you are coming from - and then you would really want to leave.

If you want to add to items in the Wikipedia english project - you will have to live with issues of WP:RS. WP:N. WP:V - if you do not like that - you will continue to have problems - if not with us - then with others - try to get away from blame - and either get on with editing - or put up - cheers SatuSuro 09:19, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever.., Thanks to get "easy" on me. (Btw, I hardly can't understand your Bahasa Indonesia "gado-gado" with english, please stick to communicate with your perfect english, I'll try my best to understand with my terrible-defective-broken english.)

OK, I got your message, I'll try to stay away from trouble and try not to have any problems here in WP:EN, meanwhile, I'm gonna bail-out and activate my "ignore mode". Cheers.., Its "nice" knowing you both... Selamat tinggal. (Gunkarta (talk) 12:43, 8 June 2008 (UTC)).[reply]

Hello Gunawan, although I speak Indonesian I will write in English so other users can understand. I would like to use your beautiful picture of Bajang Ratu gate in French Wikkpedia but am unable to download it into commons. Can you please do it? Anda Djoehana (talk) 10:43, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the fact that Indonesians believe there used to be a political entity dominating the Indonesian archipelago (and more) prior to the coming of Europeans, is a problem. In ancient time, the archipelago hosted many small polities that traded with each other. Sriwijaya and later on Majapahit were only the most successful of them in their times, but they did not control the other entities. It was the Dutch who, by territorial and political domination, unified the archipelago into one single entity, deciding that Java should be its centre (they called the other islands "Outer Islands"). 32 years of Soeharto centralism (not mentioning the Soekarno era) showed that centralisation did not work. The current regional autonomy scheme at kabupaten level seems to work, because Indonesia is comint back to its roots! Best regards, Anda Djoehana (talk) 10:43, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am processing some images nominated for deletion at Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2009 July 31. I am gathering from what I read here that you created these maps for your employer. Unfortunately, that does mean that your employer owns the copyright. You asked this question: "if Somebody wants to upload the map like this, or any other maps or images that being published by certain media. Recreate it and translate it to english. What can be done to make this legal in wiki?" I would like to attempt to answer that. There is nothing that you can do to a work owned by someone else to make it your own. Anything you do to a picture that someone else owns the copyright to is only a "derivative work" so we can't use that without their permission. We do have, however, a very large number of blank maps available at Wikipedia:Blank_maps and Commons:Category:Blank maps. Any map that you find there is either public domain or has been released under a license that allows modification. You need to make sure that if you make a map derived from one of these, you provide a link to the map that it is based on and use the same license that the map you used has. I hope that helps. --B (talk) 21:57, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. Further to our discussion on Nusantara, I have found an English language reference for it being beyond Indonesian borders, and I have included it in the article. Given that Indonesia-only definition is from the esteemed Echols and Shadily dictionary, I believe that it should stand also. I think both can stand the way it is written – ie, both definitions have enough legitimacy, and the existence and difference of both should be acknowledged. regards --Merbabu (talk) 23:46, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesia World Cup[edit]

I've suspected for a while now that Indonesia was only bidding for the 2022 World Cup, and not both that and the 2018 one. Art Deco[edit]

Thank you for structuring the examples by their geographic location. The section had formerly grown into a wall of text which is now much easier to read. --MikeZ (talk) 20:10, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Gunkarta, and thanks for this interesting article. Please, could you cite your sources? Thank you. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 14:07, 3 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll try to find it. You're welcome.., and thank you for your kind attention (Gunkarta (talk) 14:12, 3 July 2010 (UTC)).[reply]

Harap dicek kembali, terima kasih. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hkurniawan (talkcontribs) 02:12, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oke.. terima kasih atas edit anda...(Gunkarta (talk) 10:31, 12 July 2010 (UTC)).[reply]

Sama-sama... (Gunkarta (talk) 16:47, 13 July 2010 (UTC)).[reply]

Please delete it, I was meant to create Category:Malay folklore, not Page Malay Folklore (Gunkarta (talk) 11:53, 12 July 2010 (UTC)).[reply]

Already exists[edit]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malays_(ethnic_group)#Culture - is where malay folklore needs to be added - not as a separate stub unless you can expand it substantially with a large bibliography - cheers SatuSuro 10:38, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes please delete it, it was accidentally created (silly me) when I was tried to create Category:Malay folklore (Gunkarta (talk) 11:06, 16 July 2010 (UTC)).[reply]
