Hello,

Is there any particular reason you deleted the times from the above list? Or was it just a whim?Georgejdorner (talk) 17:41, 28 December 2021 (UTC)

The times are excess detail, add nothing to reader understanding, and just make the columns more crowded and less readable. GraemeLeggett (talk) 18:03, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
We shall have to agree to disagree on that.Georgejdorner (talk) 02:56, 30 December 2021 (UTC)

Just noticed you've been doing quite a few minor improvements to the article. Minor improvements never get the recognition or thanks they deserve, so I thought I should just come to your talk page and thank you for them. Your wikignoming is appreciated. The American Committee for the Defense of British Homes

Thanks for tidying up the article. I am working from a Google Books preview at the moment but have the book on order so will add page numbers once it arrives. Seems an interesting subject so I'm hoping to take it a bit further, broaden the sources etc. - Dumelow (talk) 12:35, 11 January 2022 (UTC)

On Panther tank

Beg your pardon, can you describe me, what is the problem, again?Szolnok95 (talk) 19:09, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

A piece of equipment can be designed to do something specific as required and also over-engineered (OED: "To engineer to a standard higher than is technically necessary or to an extent greater than is desirable."). GraemeLeggett (talk) 20:31, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

This is why I reffered to that book, what is released in 2020. Or here the interview with the author: youtube: Transmission and Roadwheels: Tiger I Mythbusting with Bruce Newsome Part II or Was the Tiger I really as slow and unreliable as we think? Mythbusting with Bruce Newsome. Szolnok95 (talk) 21:10, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

Overengineering def:" is the act of designing a product or providing a solution to a problem in an elaborate or complicated manner, where a simpler solution can be demonstrated to exist with the same efficiency and effectiveness as that of the original design"

Nothing would do the same steering system solution with that kind of pros(advantages) like the tiger. I mean: if you want that easy driving capabilities, there was no simplier way to achieve the same level. This is why the Tiger or panther is not overengineered. Szolnok95 (talk) 21:13, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

And authors consider such easy steering to be more than is required - hence over engineered. But take it to the Article talk page. GraemeLeggett (talk) 21:24, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

With that kinda logic, today every tank is over engigeered, but they are not.Szolnok95 (talk) 21:33, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

I saw you being active on tank-related articles. Would it be fine if the entire article will be rewritten and translated from GA French version article? 2001:4455:364:A800:E5E5:3906:820:3691 (talk) 06:34, 29 January 2022 (UTC)

The French language version is overburdened with technical tables that don't add much and doesn't have much extra text content, or lacks content the English language article has. Overall both articles are at a similar position and I would not consider either to be superior to the other and the definitive article. I recommend stepwise additions of content a bit at a time so they can be incorporated properly into the article. GraemeLeggett (talk) 07:56, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
