Regarding local church controversies[edit]

Hi,

There are few things in my consideration to write to you specifically. I have noticed that you are one of those people who are not from the local church movement but are more factual than biased. I was thinking and praying at the same time to work on the article "local church controversies" with you. It would be good if you'll be available to monitor my work and edits and giving the article a NPOV. However, there are few things I would like to share/discuss with you, 1) Some of controversy items should be removed which are kind of outdated, defaming and attacking in nature, and irrelevant to the present local churches; and which has no application, importance, and place in today's local churches around the world. 2) The history of controversy section is a fully biased and laded with anti-local church them and therefore should be removed. If you think some of the things should be kept from there, plese write them in the form of paragraphs and then put back. 3) Few things about daystar issue, and witness lee's involvement in the lawsuits are not factual and are not true, so please be very careful and present everything with a citation and not just a citation form some critics website. Let all the citations should be either from press or published books with NPOV. Let me know what do you think and I will start editing this article soon. Names and Involvement[edit]

Dear Gijones,

I am not used to the kind of discussion we are having (or had) on the talk:Local churches. I do not discuss things like that and I do not enjoy it either. I do not like my names involved in the discussions or criticized not because I can not take them but because I do not like it and in my faith, I want exercise my spirit first rather my mind (or preoccupied knowledge) or emotional outburst. First of all, I would like to clear off some of the points you might be getting totally personal and biased (pre-conceptual) against me.

I do not represent the LSM or LC. I try my best to not insert my POV in the favor of the Local churches. I mean until we meet face to face, you will never understand me nor will I. I am a Christian in a sense of Christ is everything to me and I do love God very dearly. He is more real to me than the effects, affects or consequences of any events in my life. I have a very little experience of how LC works or what exactly is their believe (about something or most of the things) but I do know a few things about Jesus and how He is related to me. I have never been in any sort of Ministry, FTT, or annual feasts/gatherings. But I do know all these terms as I have a 1 year or so experience with my brethren. I consider them as my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ just as I consider any Christian even a sincere Catholic who believe in Christ. You can look at me as a totally independent believer who believed in Jesus first and then in any church (by that I mean a (or any) religion) and who sticks to this principle even now.

I don't consider LC as a religion, nor do I consider Methodist or Baptists as a religion as that will be totally against the spirit and faith presented in the New Testament. Similarly, I do like LC because based upon my personal understanding of christian groups so far (present in the modern society), they are the most sincere ones. They do really mean the business with the Lord very seriously, no matter how things have been (bad or good) in the past or will be in the future. And I don't care for that as that is the Lord's care and He does provides to His lovers. I think they might be thinking the same way. Oh yea, past 8 months, I haven't attended any meetings in any LC. But I miss them. I don't care about modalism, or cult or NRMs. You are right, I am too a cheery picker.

Also, I don't feel much to write to you (explaining these things) which might seem to you as a self-vindication propaganda but I have certainly written to you in the past (a long letter followed by a fellowship), to which I never received any reply from you. Though, I don't expect it either. Brother, in the end we are going to where we came from. I live and work according to that. Certainly, I am not perfect but I do advocate NPOV. And I love you in Christ. HopeChrist (talk) 16:35, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Coffee[edit]

Dear Jones,

I just read your history and the newly written user:page. I am happy to see that you're a serious person and you value 'life', 'purpose', 'satisfaction', and 'meaning'. I am sad though as you still have a lot of things to see which you haven't! In your state TN, there is a saying in the business world, "you don't know what you don't know!" I believe that to be true. All of us know something and all of us should also understand that there are a lot of things which we do not know and we'll never know, since this knowledge thing is endless.

Humm, well, I'll definetely love to meet you sometime soon and I would love to have a coffee with you. Will you be able and interested in helping me in editing? Frankly speaking, I do not like what I'm doing on Wiki on these few articles! If you think I'm an enemy of NPOV (in your POV), I will leave this pleace. But make sure you remain on Wiki and see what will happen to all these articles. I am going to be 23 this Oct, I've a long life ahead of me and a lot to see. Lord is definetely more wise and powerful than wiki, or wiki editors; so even if I leave (or as you left in past)- still His WILL will be manifested, made known, and glorified!

At last I agree and can correlate with most of your understanding, and what you say and have to say! It all depends upon how much you trust! But in the end it doesn't matter much! HopeChrist (talk) 19:41, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

HopeChrist, come to Nashville and lets have coffee. Let me share something with you, something personal. When I met with the Local Church, I thought I knew everything, shortly before I stopped meeting with a Local Church I began to realize that I really know nothing. That is a true experience, not necessarily related to the Local Churches directly even though it might seem that way. I certainly realize that I don't know what I don't know... except that I don't know anything. If you think that I need to "see" something that is spiritually revealed then pray for me to see it, certainly the Lord should be willing to answer that prayer if with both agree on it. I want to see whatever the Lord wants me to see. Don't be sad about it. If the Lord hasn't shown it to me, it is according to His own will.
As for Wikipedia, follow your own conscience in the matter, stop when that voice inside tells you to stop. I don't oppose you, I only felt to warn you about personal POV, if you don't see what I am talking about, that is OK. I only have a remote interest in the articles any more, but I would love for them to be accurate and informational. I think that the outline I proposed would be a great guideline for Witness Lee's article... only, no one really seems to care about researching and adding useful info. Just do what you need to do bro, I am hands off at this point. I may chime in on the discussions from time to time, but editing the articles is not anything I have an interest in right now.

now is the time to settle some of the POVs of the article[edit]

Please, see the talk page of the article Local churches and also the article. The talk page addresses some of the issue which might be useful in addressing some of the POVs involved in the article. I am not going to revert anything this time; I would rather discuss and will seek to see consensus among the editors and a more stable version of the article with less content (may be) but more neutrality.
