License tagging for Image:Mzansi Cards.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mzansi Cards.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. Wikipedia talk:WikiProject South Africa question[edit]

Hi Gidzz. Just saw your question on the SA project page – which I don't monitor closely; which seems to sadly be the case with most South African editors. I'm not at all familiar with the Wikipedia policies on albums or music, but I've nominated a fair number of articles for speedy deletion myself. One thing that is guaranteed to keep me from doing so is two or more solid references. That can be tough, but in the case of Cyanide in the Beefcake it is doable. A Google news search (with the "all dates" option selected) brings up a couple of good ones. I'll add them to the article forthwith, and that should establish its notability beyond any doubt. So, short answer to your question: find and cite good sources and you won't have to defend entries from deletion. Hope that helps. 9Nak (talk) 17:24, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cut and paste move[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Rund um den Henninger-Turm a different title by copying its content and pasting it into Eschborn-Frankfurt City Loop. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Extended the Resources section to assist participants in finding South Africa related information

Added a bot generated Cleanup listing
Added more information on template usage
Added a section on language usage
Improved the categories section with trees for category:South Africa Wikipedia administration and category:South Africa
Added link to Wikipedia Books
Marked inactive sections of the project as inactive
