Hi Ghostkaiba, I've closed the "AfD" as "author requests deletion". I hope you are not discouraged and that you will continue to contribute to video-game related articles - consider joining the Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games? Marasmusine (talk) 16:41, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good articles on subjects that don't meet guidelines[edit]

I'm actually sorry to have nominated your article. It seemed like an interesting subject. The consensus here among editors is that articles need to establish notability by showing that a subject has been covered substantially by independent sources. If the game has been written about, let's add those sources. If not, maybe it will be, and we can recreate it in the future. If you'd like a copy of the article in your userspace an admin will be happy to put one there. There was nothing bad about the article, there are lots of good articles that get deleted. I try to abide by the consensus guidelines here, even when I sometimes disagree with them. But I don't think you should be discouraged. Take care and good luck. 06:58, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

A lot of video game and pop-culture tv shows can be difficult to find sources for. If you see articles in magazines on topics you like, that's a great way to add content. Take care. ChildofMidnight (talk) 19:21, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jason[edit]

Wikipedia has a policy on no original research, which means that we are not allowed to draw our own conclusions based on how we interpret the event. We also have a guideline on how to write about fiction, which includes not writing things from an in-universe perspective (i.e. as if they really happened). The page is not a biography on Jason, it is an encyclopedic article about the fictional character and how he was created/impacted society. To address your points, there does not need to be an explanation. There is none at the start of JGtH, yet we see him die in the Part VIII. There is also no explanation at the start of Jason X. As for Freddy pulling his mask down in JGtH, I explain that as being a gag created by the filmmakers, which they actually say in the book Crystal Lake Memories, and explain that it was in no way supposed to be a lead-in for Freddy vs. Jason (as is actually a common misconception among fans). Regardless, you cannot draw your own conclusions based on what you interpret, that is original research and it is not allowed on any article in Wikipedia.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 18:20, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's not clear at the end of Jason X what happens to him. You see him going through the atmosphere, but you don't see him get burned (you see the heat, not the burn). You cannot make personal interpretations like that. The same with Freddy vs. Jason. We don't make inferences about how he is resurrected in one film, just because of another. You are trying to connect continuities, and that isn't how we do things on Wikipedia. This isn't Wiki, this is an encyclopedia. Things are based on historical accuracy, not continuity.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 01:14, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This isn't a biography, because Jason isn't real. He is fictional. We do not treat fictional characters as if they are real. People come here to read encyclopedic articles, not fictional biographies. That's why we link to the Wiki page for him at the bottom of our page.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 02:02, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There's technically 2.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 02:12, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Just to back Bignole up, the reason we don't write character biographies is because they're actually more confusing and misleading for people unfamiliar with the character. WP:INUNIVERSE explains this in more detail. For example, if you're not familiar with the material, it's hard to tell from a biography whether something is actually portrayed onscreen or just implied through dialogue.  Paul  730 03:30, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There is no reliable source that says Jason is dead at the end of Jason X, there is also no reliable source that discusses where Freddy vs. Jason falls. The only thing stated was that Jason X was intentionally put in the future to leave continuity room if they ever made a Freddy vs. Jason film. That as a comment made by Jason Isaac, who had nothing to do with Freddy vs. Jason and cannot comment on its continuity. Regardless, even if we had said sources they would have no place in the film section of the Jason article because that section is merely about recapping basic storyline that he appeared in. It would only be relevant on the individual film pages that go into more detail. That said, it is not original research to say "the sources do not exist", because they don't. Original research is when you introduce your own opinion that is not backed by a reliable source. There are no reliable sources, so there isn't an OR violation.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 00:00, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Plot information is written based on what appears on the screen, not what someone says on a commentary track. Secondly, the interviews in Crystal Lake Memories indicate that the Freddy glove at the end of JGtH is just a gag and nothing more. There was no real intention to indicate Freddy vs. Jason by that because at that time they still could not agree on what was happenining with that film. As for Jason X, the page says "he lands on Earth 2" (correction, it does now. It was changed on the franchise page awhile back and never adjusted on Jason's page). That's it. That's a verifiable fact in the film itself. It doesn't say that he is dead or alive and to state such a thing when the film itself does not back it up would be inappropriate. Again, commentaries do not dictate plot information. We're trying to provide a summary of what is shown on screen, not what is spoken on a commentary track. Again, something relevant to individual film pages, not to the Jason page itself.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 02:15, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey[edit]

I read what you left on my page regarding the whole Jason issue and I responded. I wanted to tell Bignole and wait for his response to what I said but then I figured was it really worth it. I tried to explain to him the whole ordeal and I can see your point. But I know Jason X was made to make room for Freddy Vs. Jason to take place before it explaining Jason's resurrection. And about Jason X, though it's not officially said, I think Jason was killed for good because he was disintegrated in the atmosphere and I don't think there was anything left of him but his mask that landed into the sea below on Earth 2. I'm trying to debate whether I should convince Bignole otherwise once more and see what happens now. He never did read my response I wrote three weeks ago because I never told him I responded. However, I did see what you wrote on his profile recently. Jabrona - 01:34, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You gave me quite a surprise when I got your message but I'm glad you agreed with me on the whole Jason issue.

Okay, thanks for letting me know about it and I'm glad to have helped you out a bit. I'll check it out even though I pretty much said everything I could to Bignole already whose views is somewhat remaining the same but I'm pleased to have a say in the matter and continue this discussion with further information on the matter. The My Little Pony Friendship is Magic comic series[edit]

Hello me and Rarity and her friends are angry at you. You think the Nightmare Rarity Arc of the My Little Pony Friendship is Magic comic series will end with a bad ending. It is not going to end with the bad guy winning. It is going to end with a happy ending. A true My Little Pony fan would know that. The Publicity summary for the Nightmare Rarity ARC said see how the Magic of Friendship prevails in the start of a brand new story arc imply that it will end with a happy ending. Having it end with the bad guy winning, Rarity staying as Nightmare Rarity forever,The Ponies staying in a prison for the rest of their lives and Equestria and maybe the whole world geting destroy is too sad and dark for a children comic books series. It will end with the evil Nightmare Forces of the moon getting defeated and Nightmare Rarity turning back into Rarity. Then the six Ponies and Spike will go back home. That is a happy ending. You see the two IDW My Little Pony Comic Books series as non-canon. But I see the two IDW My Little Pony Comic Books Series as canon to the cartoon. They are not going to kill off Rarity or any of the Mane Six in a franchise for very young children. King Sombra was killed off because he is a bad guy.184.20.209.241 (talk) 02:53, 10 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
