Fabergé egg cluster fudge

OMG, worst close ever, or what? That user is not even an admin and totally misread consensus. I've asked him to revert. An RM-experienced admin needs to close that discussion. --В²C 04:00, 2 May 2017 (UTC)

I don't know what to say about the closure, User:Born2cycle. However, may you revert the title back to "Danish Palaces (Fabergé egg)" please as a stopgap and contact Exemplo347 please? Thank you. --George Ho (talk) 04:05, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
That RM was totally invalid and created a huge mess. There weren't even notices on the affected articles/talk pages because the proposal was not formulated correctly. No, I'm doing it. If anybody really wants these titles overly disambiguated they have to get there through a proper RM and closed by an admin. --В²C 04:12, 2 May 2017 (UTC)

Re: In Response

Hello. I read your message. You can read the essay Wikipedia:WikiBullying, which raises the matter that you raised there. --George Ho (talk) 21:35, 1 May 2017 (UTC)

Thanks.
I perhaps should have put my comments in that talk page. Nevertheless, even that article does not really address what I am talking about. That one talks discusses the more obvious types of bullying. What I am referring to is more of the scheming types of bullying and the lazy attitudes that let it get out of control. That is, you often see
  • One editor with an agenda start a clever guerrilla war against an editor they want to push out.
  • Several of his buddies join in just for "fun" (i.e. they care more about the fight than the issue at hand).
  • And sometimes a lazy but overzealous administrator ends up backing up the bully group simply because they have larger numbers (i.e. the attitude that if there are 3 or 4 editors that are calling another editor unconstructive, then WP policies be damned! That malicious editor must be stopped!
Unfortunately there are a lot of articles that end up dead ending as a result. Serious authors who good help an article reach GA or FA are chased away, by administrators no less. Even if an article reaches FA, that does not necessarily mean it is perfect and could not be improved but sometimes you have gangs of editors preventing changes to an FA article on the premise that because it reached FA it must be perfect.

Word of advice

In life things don't always go the way you want them to. I really hope you will stay and not lose the fight on what you believe in, some things sadly just take some time to accomplish. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 21:33, 7 May 2017 (UTC)

I'd love to, Knowledgekid87. Thanks for the consideration. It's just... I have so many reasons to leave Wikipedia, but I won't say some of them. And no, it's not because of the failing RFCs and stuff. I'm over minor things, like cappings and punctuations. It's because... Too many more dramas, especially ones affecting current admins. More hostilities everywhere. Too many memories. Too much scrutiny. Too much bureaucracy. Creativity and rules conflicting each other. Also, I'm more of a editor who writes biographies and fiction. Many more... I'm just almost worn out. --George Ho (talk) 21:38, 7 May 2017 (UTC)
I know the drama all too well as I was once caught up in more than one major conflict. The drama goes away though, why not start some new articles? Rather than working on some grand project working by yourself to accomplish good articles is good as well. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 21:41, 7 May 2017 (UTC)
Thanks... but I'll pass for now, which is not the time to make more new articles. George Ho (talk) 22:03, 7 May 2017 (UTC)

Thank you!

George, Thank you for dropping a message on my talk page about Wikipedia:Neutral point of view/Noticeboard Criticism of Walmart. I appreciate that. I also see on your talk page that something has you upset. Don't give up or quit. If you don't feel like writing new articles, feel free to work on Criticism of Walmart article. It's a mess and could use your expertise. Hop you have a good night. Paige Matheson (talk) 02:26, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

Thanks, Paige, for your support. Nevertheless, I don't know much about how to fix the article. I'm just a reader like everyone else. I have many reasons to quit Wikipedia, but I can't quit soon yet. Once I'm done a few more individually specific tasks, off I go. Regarding "Criticism of Walmart", For the suggestion, you can leave a note at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Organized Labour, Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Brands, Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Business, and/or Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Companies. That's all I can do for you. Thanks for the suggestion, nevertheless. --George Ho (talk) 02:50, 9 May 2017 (UTC)
Alternatively, you can find a relevant Project at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory. George Ho (talk) 03:07, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

re: Where to request closure

I didn't know it was listed there at all. I am not sure where to request closure, do you mean you'd like to get an admin to try to provide a summary of a consensus, if possible? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 12:07, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

Since I am not very familiar with closing, I'd appreciate it if you could take the matter into your hands and ask for closure at the forum of your choosing. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:27, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
I honestly don't know. I didn't even know we could get more than one closer. Sorry, I am a bit out of my depth here. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:18, 17 May 2017 (UTC)

False Info Under My Name

Thanks for your reply, George. What is written about me on Wikipedia under Gerard Egan is a lot of nonsense. How did Wikipwedia accept such nonsense in the fierst place? I have never contributed to Wikipedia, but I would like to set the record right. Can I just enter it under Gerard Egan Chicago and it will be clear that the other Gerard Egan stuff about me is all wrong? Who entered thsat junk and how was it verified? — Preceding unsigned comment added by GerardEganChicago (talkcontribs) 17:09, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi, GerardEganChicago. You mean "Gerard Egan"? You can read WP:BLPSELF. Also, you can either use {{help me}} at your talk page or go to WP:BLPN and raise concerns there. If the info is too private, go to Wikipedia:Requests for oversight. It's just... I was giving you a welcome message in response to this reverted edit. BTW, I wonder whether you know that you may sign your name with --~~~~. --George Ho (talk) 17:32, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you for correcting my mistake on the template page. I have no idea how it happened. Benjamin Trovato (talk) 22:03, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Oh, no worries, Benjamin. :) BTW, best to use "Show preview" button or "Show changes" button before making changes. Therefore, it doesn't happen again. --George Ho (talk) 22:22, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

G8 on files

CSD G8 can only be used on files if there is a file description page but no file. It cannot be used for orphaned fair use files; orphaned fair use files must be tagged with {{subst:orfud}}. —MRD2014 📞 contribs 01:09, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

All right, MRD2014. Thanks for the info, though I mistakenly assumed that non-free content dependent on deleted articles and redirect pages may qualify for quicker deletion. And I know that tagged orphaned NFC end up deleted, but thanks anyway. BTW, {{subst:prod}} now applies to files. --George Ho (talk) 01:19, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
