US punctuation on Natasha Bedingfield[edit]

Why did you undo my MoS punctuation fixes on this article? Since this is not a "U.S. topic", I see no reason for this to be written in a punctuation style particular to (some instances of) American style. (Even if these were not supposed to be consistent across all topics, which in this case they are.) Alai 09:26, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, it's not a matter of UK vs. US: it's a matter of doing what our style guide says. I mention that it's a "UK topic" simply because the argument is sometimes deployed the "U.S. topics" are to be written in American English, and that such articles (or other that happen to be written in American English) should also use American punctuation rules. If you were not in fact aware of style guidance in favour of the "logical" usage, see The Oxford Guide to Style, Hart's Rules, Fowler's Modern English Usage, or the discussion at Quotation mark#Punctuation. (If we were aware of these other styles, and still think "aesthetic quotes" is the only "right" one, I'm not sure what else to say on the matter.) Alai 16:29, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA reassessment of Natasha Bedingfield[edit]

I have conducted a reassessment of the above article as part of the GA Sweeps process. I have found a large number of concerns with the referencing which you can see at Talk:Natasha Bedingfield/GA1. I have de-listed the article which can be renominated at WP:GAN when these are fixed.. Thanks. Jezhotwells (talk) 20:21, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
