Arbitration

  • The arbitration case request Geschichte has been automatically closed after a 3 month suspension of the case.

Thank you for cleaning up my edit and a question

Thanks for cleaning my URLs. I wasn't sure if I should cite sites such as Goodreads and Amazon but now I know. I just wanted to attain clarity if Amazon links are blacklisted on Wikipedia because I have seen a page or two cite Amazon links in regards to books. Also what do the 'cite news' and 'access date' tags do? I would like to know so that in the future I can use them while adding sources. Thank you and I hope you have a nice day. Wpakxl (talk) 17:16, 6 August 2022 (UTC)

@Wpakxl: Per Wikipedia policies, we should go for WP:Independent third party sources as much as we can. Sources like Goodreads and Amazon come with issues such as WP:PROMO and WP:PRIMARY. They can be used when third party secondary sources are not available, but should be replaced as soon as secondary sources are found. 'Cite news' is trypically used for news portals (Hindustan Times in this case) and 'access date' denotes the date on which source(s) are added. Thanks for adding that info in Vikram Batra article . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:27, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
I highly appreciate you answering my questions. Thank you again. And could I please ask you reach out to you in the future when I have some more questions? Wpakxl (talk) 20:02, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
@Wpakxl: Absolutely. Always welcome . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:31, 7 August 2022 (UTC)

About Sidhu Moose wala Page section

Hello sir I removed that section because of that section some people misunderstood sidhu opinion and abused him. Everyone has different opinion about Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale according to many sources he never demanded khaslistan his main motive is anandapur resolution many big politicians like Subramanian Swamy also said that bhindranwale was Sant but for other Indian he was terrorist just like bhagat singh and Udham Singh who are matry for India and terrorist for Britain so it was better to remove that section for stopping unnecessary hate Daredevils56 (talk) 15:52, 7 August 2022 (UTC)

@Daredevils56: Please discuss in the talk page and gain WP:CONSENSUS there. Note that Wikipedia do not whitewash sourced content. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:55, 7 August 2022 (UTC)

OK, I can't remove the whole section. But can I add this section to his career in place personal Life after all it's not a big controversy User:Daredevils 56

@Daredevils56: Again please discuss in the talk page. Let it be transparent for other users to see. Yeah, putting these things in the personal life section is not appropriate in my opinion, since this one as well as the 'feuds' and 'Mai Bhago' incidents are part of his singing career or a separate 'Controversies' section. Please put your suggestions in the talk page, I'll respond there and will call a few other editors. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:16, 7 August 2022 (UTC)

Redirect lessons from you sent with redirect errors/please see "WP:What Wiki is not"

Yes, I saw your policy about redirects, but I'm just baffled silly you really initiated this whole campaign over your feelings that the "brothers of destruction" article should not have the accurate article name included with my "brothers of destruction|the brothers of destruction" link to that page, with you favoring the "the brothers of destruction" redirect link. I see that you're basing this on Wikipedia redirect policy as you pointed out on my talk page. And also, in trying to school me on page redirects in doing all this, you made a glaringly improper redirection and it did not get the reader to the page you desired it to get to shown here. Your redirect page error pretty much proved my whole point that it's just best to have the proper article name in the link for varying reasons; could have helped you in trying to school me if you had the proper article name in your redirect page as opposed to a dead link. lol! Just saying! The whole debate is rather petty and you seem to be ready to let it consume you and I have better things to do so I'm over it. Just please please please please review Wikipedia:You can't follow all the rules, all the time and What Wikipedia is not where it reads:

While Wikipedia's written policies and guidelines should be taken seriously, they can be misused. Do not follow an overly strict interpretation of the letter of policies without consideration for their principles.

I have been on this website off and on since it was started near 20 years ago, and Wikipedia has probably well over a thousand policies, all subjective-based that you have never seen before, clearly as based on the above policy I sent you. Unless breaking of the policy seriously disrupts the nature of the article in a serious way, I personally don't make petty campaigns over matters with other editors, but that's just me. I see that kind of behavior as warding off editors and this website is already in danger of a lack of editors, only troll accounts, and in need of donations to just survive. I saw the lack of proper article name in there, I thought it looked sloppy, I changed it, no one should lose sleep over it. If it means this much to you, I'm bowing out. Just again, please review the above for the sake of not scaring editors away from this website, consider my case. I'm bowing out of the site for awhile. JudgeJudyCourthouse25 (talk) 12:15, 18 August 2022 (UTC)

@JudgeJudyCourthouse25: The link The Brothers of Destruction is working perfectly fine and redirects to Brothers of Destruction, no WP:RED unlike your claim. It was just like that before you added that unnecessary backlink, not needed per WP:DONOTFIXIT. There is also another instance of the redirect in the article body. That being said, I'm not responsible for your WP:CIR issues with redirects, not to mention your revert was in a bad faith. And maintain WP:CIVILITY. I don't take comments like "I'm just baffled silly you really initiated this whole campaign over your feelings that the "brothers of destruction"" lightly. Consider this as a warning. And if you have an issue with the WP:DONOTFIXIT guideline, in this article or elsewhere, discuss in relevant venues (talk pages, DRN, Village Pump, etc). - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:40, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
All right, looks like this is going to go through one ear and out the other but, again, please please please please please please please pleeeeeeease read Wikipedia:You can't follow all the rules, all the time and What Wikipedia is not. Also, if the "baffled silly" somehow bruised your feelings and ego, apologies from me if that's what it takes. Just please read the above two policies. Please also read up on civility warnings, per WP:Civility Warnings. As I guess you might have missed, the warnings are not necessary because you've already scared me off for a significant amount of time—as you will other constructive editors if your policy-bureacracy behavior keeps up. Just drop it Fylindfotberserk. You got your way on "the", and I'm gone. Happy editing! JudgeJudyCourthouse25 (talk) 13:24, 18 August 2022 (UTC)

Need your help on the article on 'Melukote'

When you have some free time, if you can look at the 'Melukote' wikipedia page, talk page & search for comments below 'Melukote' in the link below, it would be of great help! [1]

Background is the difference between the following revisions of the wikipedia page : [2]
- In the diff you see how the incident where Tipu killed 800 brahmins from Melukote was removed.
- And a statement added saying Brahmins did not allow any Shudras to live in the village. If you click on the source, the statement is an exaggeration & explained in the NPOV page. They also added it was Marathas who plundered the Hindu temple.
I have tried to talk to the user 'Walrus' in the NPOV page but he finds my comments uncivil & has even marked my talk page quoting me as uncivil.
I have also specified one source I could find from TimesOfIndia, of how Brahmins were killed by Tipu.
If you can include this incident from TimesOfIndia & remove the unwarranted comment on Brahmins not allowing any Shudras, or atleast say 'As per the author, the Brahmins who lived 40 years agp did not allow many Shudras to live there', it would be great!
I am new to Wikipedia, so if I have made a mistake in editing your page, you are free to remove it!
