Boxoffice india source used in bigil article

Just now I saw the bigil article. I was shocked you people were using unreliable BOI source. hello BOI source used in bigil film article is a dubious one. BOI only track how much a film collects in india alone. they dont track worldwide figures whereas 285 crore is only india gross of bigil film not worldwide. please remove it Lisvanna (talk) 10:18, 2 December 2019 (UTC)

@Lisvanna: I've raised the same issue in the Bigil talkpage. You should comment there. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:22, 2 December 2019 (UTC)

Madhyamgram

And also Madhyamgram all official documents School, College and aldo shop and others use Kolkata Name before Pincode. Because It ia town in Kolkata. Madhyamgram obviously Kolkata Main Pincode Area and they official used city name Kolkata. And other Kolkata Metropolitan area which are not Belongs to Kolkata Pincode area they can not use Kolkata Name on Official. You check it Also. Huge Kolkata major area district different even Saltlake,Rajarhat district is different but this not a point All 700001 to 700162 area Kolkata Pincode area and that area city is Kolkata. You check it. They Use Kolkata before Pincode because this Kolkata are. Other Kolkata Metropolitan area which is not Belongs to Kolkata Pincode (700001 to 700162) area they can not use Kolkata before Pincode. You check it What is different. Huge Kolkata major area district is different even Saltlake,Rajarhat, Sector 5, Newtown, and also many major Kolkata area district is different but it is Belongs to Kolkata Pincode (700001 to 700162).that reason their city called Kolkata. Can You ( Fylindfotberserk) notice it?? AmitMondal1299 (talk) 12:35, 21 November 2019 (UTC)

@AmitMondal1299:Madhyamgram falls under Kolkata metropolitan area like many other cities and municipalities within that metro area but is also a separate entity as per census. Consider a similar case with Thane which is part of Mumbai Metropolitan Region but is also a separate city. Thane pincodes also start with 400 just like Mumbai. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:16, 21 November 2019 (UTC)

You can not understand of Kolkata Area details. I am very well know which you talking. I live in Saltlake, Kolkata:64. Madhyamgram is not a region of Kolkata it part of North Kolkata. Madhyamgram Pincode is 130 which is Belongs to Kolkata Pincode area. Why you can not notice this. Kolkata Metropolitan Area which are not Belongs to Kolkata Pincode (700001 to 700162) area they are part of only region of Kolkata. But 70001 to 700162 is the main area of Kolkata. Some major Kolkata area like Saltlake,Newtown,Rajarhat, and other Kolkata major main area has different district but this is not matter. Madhyamgram obviously part of Kolkata called North Kolkata area.Kolkata Metropolitan Area which are not Belongs to Kolkata Pincode (700001 to 700162) area they are part of only region of Kolkata, like location of Uttarpara is part of Kolkata Metropolitan Area but Uttarpara is not Belongs to Kolkata Area (700001 to 700162) because Uttarpara Pincode is 712258. So it region of Kolkata. So it clear that Madhyamgram Pincode 700130 Belongs to Kolkata Major area. it is Obviously major are of Kolkata called North Kolkata. AmitMondal1299 (talk) 13:24, 25 November 2019 (UTC)

@AmitMondal1299: As I said, you have to provide source. The 2011 Indian census calls it a separate township, so we have city in the lead. I've changed the infobox as per your suggestions and as per other Kolkata metropolitan area articles here. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:09, 25 November 2019 (UTC)

If Madhyamgram separate Township then its Pincode never start 7000 like Uttarpara which Pincode is 71225 and it is under Kolkata Metropolitan Area.

AmitMondal1299 (talk) 15:15, 3 December 2019 (UTC)

Editing question

Hi Fylindfotberserk, I currently came across your editing remarks regarding not to include social links in the infobox. However, if you go through https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump, you'll see that the official links are present in the infobox itself. We just wanted to post the official twitter and Facebook link in the infobox for the ease of access of the user and raise their grievances. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Javed hasrat (talkcontribs) 10:33, 4 December 2019 (UTC)

@Javed hasrat: Thanks for asking. Firstly, Wikipedia is not a Catalogue, Guide or a Complain Box for people. And Trump's article is not a high status article. You can check the Good Article status articles like Narendra Modi, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Alexander Lukashenko, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Gordon Brown, etc that doesn't mention social sites in the Infobox. It is a MOS that's typically followed in Indian politician articles. WP:EL are typically not used in Wikipedia and should be restricted to the "External links" section at best. See WP:ELOFFICIAL, WP:Twitter-EL, WP:FACEBOOK which only allows usage of social sites in the External links section. And see WP:ELMIN as per which only one Offcial Link needs to be provided. And since Fadnavis' article already mentions his Official Website which links to all of his social sites like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and a blog, those need not be mentioned separately as per WP:ELMIN. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:52, 4 December 2019 (UTC)

Date format script

Why, when your date format script corrects the date format on a page, does it also change the date of the date format tag? The tag is supposed to show the date at which the date format was established, not the date of the most recent edit? MapReader (talk) 13:11, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

@MapReader: I do that using Ohconfucius' scripts and according to these templates, the template date has to be updated at the time of script or bot cleanup runs, which the script does automatically. See this excerpt from Template:Use dmy dates for example,
After being tagged, and bearing in mind article evolution, periodic script or bot runs clean up formats, correcting any new introductions since its last visit, and updating the visit date on the template. Regards. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:00, 12 December 2019 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for the quick comment. It looks like this is my misunderstanding, since the date is supposed to be the date of the last check, which I didn't realise. Thanks again MapReader (talk) 15:33, 12 December 2019 (UTC)
@MapReader: You are most welcome. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:46, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

Blocked user tool?

Hi F, have I mentioned to you the blocked user tool? If you go to Preferences > Gadgets > Appearance, then activate "Strike out usernames that have been blocked", it should help you spot potential sockpuppets and other recurring disruptive people in the article edit history. I was just looking at the edit history at Gippy Grewal when I noticed a new user Arjun6776 was evading a previous block under Arjun2726. Seeing the names struck out helped me spot that quicker. Anyway, I recommend it. And if I already brought this up, sorry. I've told a few people about it, I just can't remember who. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 23:01, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

@Cyphoidbomb: You told me about that tool before and I've activated it already. Arjun6776 seemed like an obvious SP of Arjun2726 to me, especially on Gippy Grewal and in this and this. I was going to report them, but forgot lol, got busy somewhere else. Thanks for taking care of them and thanks again for recommending that useful tool. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 06:33, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

Request Clarifications on Edits

Hello Fylindfotberserk,

I'm not as frequent or as prolific an editor here as I'd like to be but am starting out and wanted a quick clarification on two edits that were undone on this page yesterday: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Jains I had added Arun Jain to the list as he is a Jain business leader acknowledged by the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) - screenshot attached.

File:JITO Screenshot Arun Jain
JITO Screenshot Arun Jain

In addition, the entry on Indu Jain of The Times of India Group has also been deleted: I had added her two sons, Samir and Vineet Jain, with links to their page as they are prominent Jain business leaders.

May I request your help in clarifying why these were dropped and if they could be reinstated: this will help me also improve my future edits.

Thanks and regards,.

Mohitoz (talk) 02:57, 15 December 2019 (UTC)

@Mohitoz: Thanks for asking. The article List of Jains is a list of followers of Jainism. It is not a list of people bearing the surname Jain like this article. In the Arun Jain link you provided and his Wiki article, I wasn't able to find anything that says he follows Jainism, neither in the Indu Jain link and article. Thus it fails WP:V. Also note that in Wikipedia and in the article lead itself, we have this rule according to which a person's ethnic/caste/religious affiliation needs to be self-identified, instead of assumption based on his/her surname. If you find a reliable source like books, mainstream news source, etc, which explicitly says, such and such people follow Jainism, feel free to add them with those sources. If not, list them in Jain (surname). Secondly, we have to source an individual's religion separately, referring to Indu Jain's sons. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:18, 15 December 2019 (UTC)

Thanks again: this is most helpful and I will read through the links you've suggested to improve my own usage and contributions. On the Arun Jain entry, however, he is a practising Jain but I will see if there is any source where this is self-evident. And while I had added Samir and Vineet Jain to Indu Jain's existing entry, I understand what you mean: that they should be listed separately. Regards. Mohitoz (talk) 10:36, 16 December 2019 (UTC)

You are welcome Mohitoz. Your edits were in good faith, but that drew me to the Indu Jain entry where I didn't find any reference to her being a follower. It is always better to have explicit sources instead of botched addition. If not today, then after sometime, these are liable to get removed. Regards - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:46, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
Thanks Fylindfotberserk. You're right in that there doesn't seem to be anything I found where Arun Jain talks about being a Jain himself, though the fact that he is pat of the team at Jitopreneurs [[1]] and the screenshot I'd shared earlier does imply that he is a Jain himself. Wondering is this is good/credible enough? I do know that the Jains of Times of India are also practising Jains themselves but will try and find a credible source to support this. Regards. Mohitoz (talk) 04:45, 17 December 2019 (UTC)
Mohitoz, this would probably do since their about page says "..community of visionary Jain", however a reliable WP:Independent source would be better IMO. I couldn't find one though. I unable to see the image provided by you, it displays a redlink. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:47, 17 December 2019 (UTC)

Thanks again Fylindfotberserk. So, I suppose one can cite this source to add Arun Jain to the list of Jains. I have uploaded the screenshot again for your reference:

File:Arun Jain JITO Going Global Committee.png
Screenshot from JITO website showing Arun Jain

Regards, Mohitoz (talk) 12:58, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Mohitoz Yeah, add his name with this reference. Not the screeshot. And do not embed external link of Intellect Design Arena in the article. It is not relevant to the article. If Intellect Design Arena has a Wikipedia article, then you can pipe-link it. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:56, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

You keep editing out true facts

Why do you keep editing the true cause of death of Bobby Duncum Jr. You state it's not sourced, for the 4th time I AM THE SOURCE, his wife. What, do I need to show you his autopsy report...seriously? I hate the internet and hate this page, if it's going to be up and we can't control it I at least want the facts to be out there. So stop it please. You are no expert on his life sir. Bengalurumaga

Hey there, so this guy turned out to be a problematic editor who engaged in a lot of POV forcing in Christianity-related articles and who also was engaging in sockpuppetry. If you see someone come back and start changing the language to the Akshay Kumar article in a similar style, and if I don't happen to see it, please let me know. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 13:59, 21 December 2019 (UTC)

@Cyphoidbomb: Totally. Thanks for telling me about this person's POV pushing related to Christianity. I've a few articles related to Christianity in my watchlist. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:04, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
This is one of the areas of interest. If you look at the history you'll see all those crossed-out namees. That's them. They resorted to creating impostor to try to blend in with Abishai 300. Here's another article, but it's far less disruption there. The crossed-out IP is them as well. You don't have to watch these articles if you don't want to. I was just giving you some background. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:08, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
@Cyphoidbomb: Thanks for letting me know, I've watchlisted them. Probably you've seen, more than half of my work is RCP and CVU related. I'll enjoy this.. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:20, 21 December 2019 (UTC)

Mark edits on Bobby Duncum Jr's page

Hey you little egotistical wrestling mark. This is obviously your personal ego powerplay. Thanks for harassing a widow and her daughter. What do you want to a death certificate, autopsy report, marriage certificate? Why don't you just respect my loss? I can't believe you. Can you tell me how to change the title of the Wikipedia article of Shivaji Maharaj from "Shivaji" to "Shivaji Maharaj"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bramhesh Patil (talkcontribs) 19:45, 25 December 2019 (UTC)

@Bramhesh Patil: Would require a WP:CONSENSUS from other editors in the article talk page. Since Wikipedia is neutral, we do not mention things like Lord, Maharaj, Majesty, etc in the article names. Unless Maharaj is part of Shivaji's name or the term "Shivaji Maharaj" is more common than "Shivaji", it would not be added. - Fylindfotberserk - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:26, 26 December 2019 (UTC)

Questionable editor

Hey there, if you happen to see Akashvermadzzz make any more problematic edits, please let me know. I don't get the sense that they're here to be constructive. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:56, 30 December 2019 (UTC)

Cyphoidbomb I've the same feeling. Have you seen his disruptive edits at Amir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan articles? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:57, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
Cyphoidbomb First time I came across this person was in Allahabad and Faizabad related articles. They were like any other POV pusher, in those article, wanting to change Allahabad to Prayagraj and Faizabad to Ayodhya, disregarding WP:COMMONNAME. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:01, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
Yes, I saw their obviously disruptive edits. I just asked them why they deleted all that stuff at the Shah Rukh Khan article. I'm getting a "good-hand/bad-hand" vibe from them, i.e., where they make good edits and bad edits, and other users assuming good faith wind up being a bit confused as to whether this editor just needs some guidance, when they're actually just here to be a pain in the arse. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:06, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
Cyphoidbomb Yup, that vibe. I came across atleast a couple "good faith edits" by them before, but were actually POVs. That vandalism @SRK, Salman Khan and Amir Khan point towards a POV. It fits well with their vandalism on Allahabad and Faizabad articles. If you could understand what I mean! - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:15, 30 December 2019 (UTC)

IPv6 user

My impression is that some of User_talk:2001:E68:60DC:7801:253A:85B6:C2AD:A4FB's edits are intended constructively, although others seem a bit like testing small random changes to see if they can survive unfixed. I'm not a patroller, but anyone doing patrolling should probably keep an eye on this IPv6 user and see how rapidly s/he makes an effort to learn the need for proper sourcing. Boud (talk) 12:20, 31 December 2019 (UTC)

@Boud: I agree that some of their edits are constructive, but most are unexplained disruptive changes. I've seen their edits in Haryana related articles before, they just randomly change dates. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:35, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
