October 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello. Some of your recent genre changes, such as the one you made to Pambelé, have conflicted with our neutral point of view and verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you seek consensus for certain edits by discussing the matter on the article's talk page. Thank you. Philip J Fry :  Talk  21:00, 5 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from changing genres, as you did to Pambelé, without providing a source or establishing a consensus on the article's talk page first. Genre changes to suit your own point of view are considered disruptive. Thank you. Philip J Fry :  Talk  15:53, 13 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Greetings Phillip, as you requested I'm providing sources to support the changes of the genere on the Pambelé project. From a storytelling persepective, character development and production values telenovela and series are completely different. Based on verifiable impartial facts the project should be categorized as a tv series and not as a telenovela.

Please look at the website of the television network that created the series and is currently broadcasting Pambelé in Colombia, the project is listed under the "series" category -not novela- (link bellow). Also if you examine the information provided by the production companies, the authors and other reliable sources they always define the project as a TV series.

Links below:

RCN COLOMBIA http://ventasint.canalrcn.com/en/home (Here you can select the different categories, and Pambelé is on the series tab)

In IMDB the project is catalogued as a series: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6311896/

You can also read an article in Variety where they are referring as a series: http://variety.com/2017/film/global/colombias-1111-films-tv-expands-intl-reach-1202487284/

An article in Colombia's leading newspaper El Tiempo: http://www.eltiempo.com/cultura/cine-y-tv/estreno-de-la-serie-sobre-la-vida-de-pambele-107198

Production company trailer: https://www.neuplot.tv/pambel/

Art director of the project: http://www.dianatrujillo.com/pambelé.html

Also if you read Wikipedia's description this product doesn't fit this description:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telenovela

Page text.[1] Direct quote: "Over time telenovelas evolved in the structure of their plots and in the themes that they address. Couples who kiss each other in the first minutes of the first episode sometimes stay together for many episodes before the scriptwriter splits them up."

This is definitively not part of the story that has been broadcasted in Colombia over the past months, this project is written and produced as a series, and based on real events.

I'll be happy to exchange opinions and discuss more if needed.

I'm new to wikipedia editing... So please let me know if this is the proper space to answer.
