I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. I moved your article, which you accidentally created with the generic title Article Name, to the correct title, British Japanese. FreplySpang 18:03, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia - they're really appreciated! I just wanted to let you know of a couple things, since you appear to be new. One is the preview feature. Instead of making a succession of separate edits, you can preview edits to proofread for typos or mistaks in coding. This prevents the artificial inflation of your edit count (which is sort of frowned upon) and prevents your edits from constantly clogging up the recent changes and watchlists. Another reminder is about edit summaries. Usually, when you make an edit, it's polite to summarize that edit in an edit summary. Not using edit summaries may make other editors suspicious of your edits (since they don't know the motivation behind them) and at any rate, it's considerate to let then figure out quickly what your edit was rather than having to view the history and compare diffs. The third reminder is the use of the minor edit. If you look beneath the edit summary box, there is a checkbox labelled "This is a minor edit". Clicking this box labels edits with an "m" as well as hides them, if the user has set his or her preference to do so. Usually things like spelling changes, unless there is a content dispute about it, are considered minor. A good rule of thumb is that minor edits are those which don't change the content of the article (such as adding a link, fixing a mistake, or changing minor word order). This is another tool to help communicate to editors what you intend to do. I see you've already been welcomed, and I do suggest you read those links and everything else you can get your hands on. Wikipedia is confusing at first, I know, but it's also very well-documented, and you should have no problem once you read most of the help articles. If you have further questions, feel free to contact me. Welcome to Wikipedia, and good luck! —Keakealani·?·!·@ 19:03, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Hispanic culture in the UK[edit]

A tag has been placed on Hispanic culture in the UK requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Escape Publishing[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Escape Publishing, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Escape Publishing. Speedy deletion of Escape Publishing[edit]

A tag has been placed on Escape Publishing, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. February 2008[edit]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Escape Publishing. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. ukexpat (talk) 22:34, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Baltic people in the UK[edit]

I am glad to see an article about British people of Baltic descent has been created, I am not sure whether the 200,000 figure is correct, however, I have seen sources that say the Lithuanian, Estonian and Latvian communities in the UK number between 20,000 and 50,000. They are important communities in the UK, and I believe that they should be split up in to articles titled Lithuanian Britons, Latvian Britons and Estonian Britons, or something to that affect (like the Baltic American communities are), just a suggestion. Signing comments on discussion pages and using edit summaries[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as in Talk:British people, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Also please don't forget to provide an edit summary which you do not seem to include with your edits. While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
