@Frankish Human Your actions on the page of Matzoon is a vandalism. You can not delete a sourced material without firstly discussing it in the talk page, secondly without providing proof of the argument you are proving and lastly engaging in an edit war goes against the policy of the Wikipedia. Its your job to cite the sources, you added sources, but didnt cite them or give a page to where they said that it is also from georgian origin. So you made a claim and didnt properly back it up, also Imma recite to u the history and etymology page of this article:

„The name of the product originates from Armenian matz (sour, glue). The etymology is provided by Grigor Magistros, in his Definition of grammar (11th century).“

and

„The first written accounts of matzoon are attested in medieval Armenian manuscripts by Grigor Magistros (11th century), Hovhannes Erznkatsi (13th century), Grigor Tatevatsi (14th century) and others.“ Frankish Human (talk) 20:59, 7 March 2024 (UTC)

There are different theories over the etymology of word Matsoni, in different Georgian regions different words are used. In Kiziki word წველა(ts'vela) is used which means milking of (a cow, sheep so on). In Svaneti word Marts'ven(მარწვენ), is used which means to milk(a cow, a sheep or so on). in historical Hereti (Qax region of Azerbaijan) word Ts'ola is used which also means the same thing. Therefore linguistically speaking etymology of the word should be examined by the linguists existence of a word in certain dictionary doesn't give a nation claim over the product, since linguistics and migration of loanwords are quite complex. You didnt cite any sources, so what you said cant be verified, fact is that the word matsun or matsoni in georgian is of armenian origin and that even If there were other names the first time matson was mentioned was in armenians texts. You havent linked two articles which dont dive into the origin of the product and also which justs tate basic info, on top of that being unreliable sources. The books you linked, werent cited, let me explain what that means..If you link a book and want to prove a claim with it you gotta cite/recite the exact line or page where it was stated so we can verify your claim, If that isntbzhe case, ur source cant be verified, aka isnt valid. Because it wasnt spoken in by the franks by the time and what I meant was that I added old german and old dutch too in eventually, beacause franks also lived in those regions, what Im thanking him is for not only removing my additions, which are just as logical as the french one, but also the french one Frankish Human (talk) 09:57, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
