If you want to create a new article on "Lindy Legendary Fishing Tackle", please create it as a new article (although I have my doubts whether it is an encyclopedic subject), but don't overwrite a needed disambiguation page. Once that article exists, you should add it to that disambiguation page. Michael Bednarek (talk) 10:59, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Lindy fishing[edit]

It may not have been your intention to write an advert, but the waqy the article was written certainly made it look like one. There were a lot of peacock terms (e.g., "the list of top walleye fishermen whose careers have been boosted by the Lindy Fishing Team reads like an all-star roster").

Compare your:

Lindy Legendary Fishing Tackle produces premium fishing tackle. The Lindy Rig, Lindy’s flagship product, has made its way into the arsenals of over 40 million fishermen since the company began operation in 1968. Today, Lindy Rig is to live bait rig as Kleenex is to facial tissue.

with the more neutral:

Lindy Legendary Fishing Tackle is an American producer of fishing tackle. Since its founding in 1968, the company's Lindy Rig has been used by over 40 million fishermen*.

You'd also need to find a citation to verify the claim marked *. Basically, since this is an encyclopedia you need to use a neutral, dispassionate viewpoint when you're writing an article. It's OK to explain what the company is and does, but try to avoid making it sound like a puff-piece! Hope that helps, Grutness...wha? 00:04, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again - you wrote: Okay, well I did rewrite the whole thing. However, my changes were not reflected on the page.
I'm not sure where you tried to rewrite it, but there's no sign of any changes to the (deleted) article. I've undeleted it and made a start at rewording it more neutrally (I've moved it to Lindy Legendary Fishing Tackle, BTW, since that seems to be the official name of the company). It still needs a lot of work (incuding citations), but it's a start. Grutness...wha? 01:52, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
