A tag has been placed on Fionnuala Collins requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Mr. Vernon (talk) 18:03, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

August 2012[edit]

Please do not write an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Mr. Vernon (talk) 18:03, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! I have move your article to the link above to give you more time to work on it. Unfortunately at the moment the article does not meet the notability criteria and without more context does not indicate significance which falls afoul of our speedy deletion criteria. However! Now that I have moved the article to your User Space, you will be able to work on it before remaking it. Remember to include at least three reliable sources and to link to the articles you think support your text by putting brackets around the relevant words.

Good luck! And if you need any further assistance please do not hesitate to leave a message on my talk page. PanydThe muffin is not subtle 19:50, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, Fionnuala Mary Collins the artist here. I can't seem to get my page to work. I have attached about 15 links to references from national newspaper (such as the times, independent, the star, evening herald) articles about the paintings but it is still telling me that there are no third party references. I'm a little confused. If you could give me some help I'd really appreciate it! Thanks, Fioonuala

Welcome![edit]

Hello, Fionnualamarycollins, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! You can also just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

Hi there. I saw your note; I think your best bet is to work with one of the Articles for Creation reviewers who have offered comments so far; they may be able to steer you in the right direction. User:SarahStierch, for example, may be able to offer some additional comments.

I should note, however, that in general, writing about oneself is discouraged on Wikipedia, as it is very difficult for any person to consider themselves objectively (and Wikipedia does strive for objectivity.) So you are probably better off waiting for someone else to write an article about you. 28bytes (talk) 15:43, 30 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Fionnualamarycollins. Unfortunately I will have to decline ther invitation to help with improving this article. I do not have access to most of the cited news sources. The one source I did find online did not verify what had been written here, so personally I worry other information is incorrect or out of context.
Secondly, as has been mentioned above, writing about yourself is strongly discouraged, because it is almost impossible to remain neutral and objective.
Thirdly, more than one person seems to be using your account. The message on my Talk page says it is from Ciaran Davies, but is written using the account of Fionnualamarycollins. Only one person should use a Wikipedia account. The situation here is far too confusing and, to be frank, suspicious for me to get involved with. Kind regards. Because you've said you don't want your draft to appear in search engine results, I've added a {{NOINDEX}} template to the page. If you no longer want to submit your draft for review I suggest you remove the 'review request' box. I suppose there's no reason why you couldn't blank the page, if you no longer want to take it forward. All the best. Sionk (talk) 21:18, 15 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
