A tag has been placed on Finch's Beer Co. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. —This lousy T-shirt (talk) 14:46, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest and username concerns[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Finch's Beer Co., and I noticed that the username you have chosen, "Finchbeer", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website which relates to the entity in question, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 14:57, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, Finchbeer, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

Decline reason:

Much as I approve of smaller brewers, I must point out some things to you. You won't get unblocked under that name. Period. Even less room for negotiation than in a North Korean election... Apart from that, your Draft is still there, but it won't get into article space. It's promotional (the use of 'we' is a total killer...). You don't show notability. Please read WP:CORP (applies to you just as it does to Coors) and WP:RS about reliable independent sources - needed to prove that you pass CORP). At only two years in business, this mightn't be easy. Please remember that having an article on Wikipedia is not a 'right'. This is an encyclopaedia, not a directory. At AboutUs or Facebook, you don't have to worry about promo or notability. Here, you do. Have a read, have a beer, do some Googling and see what you can find. Then choose a new name that doesn't have finches or beer in it. And hopefully doesn't have finches IN the beer... Good luck. Peridon (talk) 20:39, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Daniel, We are a microbrewery in Chicago looking to make a wiki page, however, we are running into some difficulties. Our page has been deleted and now our username blocked. Can you please unblock us? We are a reputable company in business for over two years. Please see finchbeer.com for more info. Thank you

Hello Finchbeer. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Finch's Beer Co.".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Finch's Beer Co.}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Rankersbo (talk) 11:21, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
