Juanita[edit]

regarding Juanita: True, Juanita was not an affair. But it is unclear as to whether Juanita was never seen in the show. The first Mayor's daughter was Juanita and was shown in several episodes. It is however unclear as to whether or not the Mayor's daughter and the waitress at the diner were in fact the same "Juanita". One of the great mysteries of the world ;)

Blocked Username[edit]

Your username has never been blocked. If you encountered a block, this is because of an autoblock or a block placed on an IP address, due to someone else's actions and not because of your own actions. This is an unfortunate "feature" of the software that runs Wikipedia; please complain to the Wikipedia developers, there's nothing I can do about it. In the meantime, the block should expire after not too much time. -- Curps 07:04, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

1946 Huntington map[edit]

Hey, I made the thing for you. You actually won't be needing to have thumbnails, because like noted in the discussion, ImageMajick automatically makes file sizes smaller when they're displayed smaller. One thing you need to do before this article works well is cut out equal sections.. determine the final width, final height, divide by four.. make everything very precise. you'll see that right now, things don't quite line up. One thing that also needs to be reworked is the lead of the page. Generally the title of the page is included, in its entirity, in the first sentence... i put in 'this this' etc as places for you to put in filler, or you can completely reword it.. i was just trying to fit the title in the sentence. drumguy8800 - speak 22:26, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Plattsburgh[edit]

I have created Category: Wikipedians by alma mater: SUNY Plattsburgh. I welcome you to add yourself to it. --D-Rock (Yell at D-Rock) 05:34, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Plattsburgh[edit]

Good work on the article, yes, "recent events" isn't exactly the best title for much of that section. From what I've read, and looking at the album notes, its very vague as to what song was recorded where. The different SUNY schools are listed but there is no direct 1-1 song-school listing.

an article from All Points North (Cardinal Point's cousin) goes into a little detail on this:

http://www.apnmag.com/spring_2007/kasama_musicians.php

Should the article list the wording "recordings from the concert" rather than specific song titles? Do you have any further reference that might narrow down the track(s) recorded?

216.27.125.84 (talk) 00:24, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I was thinking the same thing. For years it's been widely assumed that Do You Feel was one of the songs recorded at Plattsburgh and nobody's ever disputed this, but I've never seen anything official that corroborated that fact. It's still accepted as the right song but I wish I knew why that's so, and also why nobody else disputes it either. I wish there was some way to know positively which songs came from where. I hate to say it but technically only "some tracks" could be absolutely proven, so I can't argue with such a change. (On a side note, the song I erased from the article before that was just not notable) --Fife Club (talk) 01:19, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think that while its very possible it was recorded there it might be an urban legend as it is just the most popular song on the album.. I'll look into some different wordings so that it doesn't take away from the importance of the concert and is still correct. Cs302b (talk) 01:29, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WAXN[edit]

According to WAXN's FCC file, it is still legally the same station as WKAY--Faw apparently sold the license before it would have almost certainly been stripped by the FCC. Blueboy96 18:41, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I still respectfully disagree on what should logically constitute a genuinely different station, however I yield to the official FCC's records. Fife Club 03:12, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:PNS 1925 Cardinal.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PNS 1925 Cardinal.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:10, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Barney-Fife.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Barney-Fife.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 09:00, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My Opinion[edit]

Hey Fife Club. I'm sorry it took me so long to respond, but I've been pretty busy recently. I've taken a look at both Centromere's and your argument for including the information about 7-11 and Commerce Bank. I don't see why it hurts to include information about how one of Northport's historical building has transformed from a defunct restaurant into a soon to be build bank. But at the same time, I still feel like this information is slightly POVish since it reads as, "Commerce Bank plans to tear it down" so honestly, I'm not too sure. Since I'm on the fence, I recommend you go to WP:RFC to get some more outside opinions.

Now about the 7-11 part. This is downright POV and inaccurate information since the restaurant is still in business and all 7-11 has done so far is express interest in buying the property. From how the section reads, "The Vail Farm house is also threatened with demolition by 7-Eleven" it sounds like 7-11 has bulldozers camped out at the property waiting to bulldoze over the historical building this second.

I also don't see any need to have information about the Farmers Market since it is hardly notable enough to be included in an encyclopedia. I mean come on, Woopedoo all it is a farmers market. Its not like when people think of Northport they're like, "Oh man I remember my good old childhood in Northport with that kick ass farmers market."

I hope this helps and don't hesitate to message me with any more questions. Noneforall (talk) 04:18, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bevin House[edit]

I had put the location as Eatons Neck since the Bevin's (who I interviewed for the history book I wrote) corrected me many times whenever I referred to the house being in Asharoken. Although the house technically is within the Inc Village, the house pre-dates the Village, and CHD considered his estate to be an Eatons Neck estate ... evident on all his stationary. Asharoken was the community on East Beach, and that's why I think you should change it back for historical accuracy. Just my opinion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hixguy1 (talkcontribs) 03:25, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The location of the house must only be it's current location, which would be in Asharoken, NY. This would be true for both the infobox and the opening general summary paragraph. You may however add that fact to the body of the article, that the location was considered Eatons Neck from the time Bevin House was built until whatever year. --Fife Club (talk) 15:01, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Northport Website[edit]

When I saw you add that link to the external link section I decided to update the website part at the top of the article. Since both links lead to the identical website (except for the difference in .gov or .com) I think we should just leave the link to the .gov one. Its kind of weird that the town would use both domains, instead of just the .gov since the website is copyrighted by the incorporated village of Northport, ie a governmental institution.
