Requests[edit]

are you able to scan the arteries/bangers/ok pilot/brothers brits abroad split from Aleternative Press Volume 24 Issue #260 (March 2010) thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.129.255.114 (talkcontribs)

I can absolutely do that for you. However, I intended this project to be for article expansion, not casual reading. I don't see any articles for any of these bands on this split release. Are you creating a page for one of these bands? If so, I am not so sure this brief review will help much. But again, I can still provide it for you. Fezmar9 (talk) 19:34, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
i'm just in one of the bands, sorry i misinterpreted the purpose of the site, you can't get hold of this magazine in england, and i was just wanting to add it as a tear sheet, personal/band interest really, but i would be extremely grateful if you could! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.104.150.89 (talk) 14:08, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I swear I have run into more band members on Wikipedia than by actually going to shows... I can get around to this later this evening when I get home. Do you have a preferred file type? .pdf? .png? If I don't hear from you by then, I'll just pick one and send it. Fezmar9 (talk) 20:22, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

any file format is good for me, pdf or jpeg, look forward to hearing from you, cheers! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.104.150.89 (talk) 09:31, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Defeated Sanity[edit]

The article at Decibel magazine issue number 68 is larger than at decibelmagazine.com?--Cannibaloki 22:45, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article I have in Decibel #68 is a two paragraph review of Chapters of Repugnance. The article you linked here is from issue #69 which I do not have yet. Fezmar9 (talk) 23:32, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, okay.--Cannibaloki 21:05, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Would you like a scan of the review in #68? My local magazine store does not have #69 in yet, but you will be the first to know! Fezmar9 (talk) 21:08, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Of course! Okay, thanks!--Cannibaloki 21:39, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I just picked up issue 69, and the article you were looking for is half a page. What's your email address? Fezmar9 (talk) 22:20, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
See the toolbox at my user page.--Cannibaloki 19:54, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is not possible to attach pictures there, so my email is "josejunior666@gmail.com".--Cannibaloki 19:57, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent, thanks! Have you heard this band? --Cannibaloki 21:53, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, never heard of them before. Fezmar9 (talk) 23:26, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Defeated Sanity sounds like a death metal band with "jazz impulses". And Discordance Axis? I know you like Converge, which is something like a kind of "experimental hardcore"... Maybe you like the band's third album, The Inalienable Dreamless.--Cannibaloki 02:49, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Exodus feature at Decibel magazine[edit]

Can you send me a complete version of this article? I will use this article at Bonded by Blood's page (see reference number three). Alternatively, you can add the missing fields.--Cannibaloki 06:52, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Copies sent and reference filled out. Note that the reference says pages 64–70, while I only sent you 66–70. The first two pages is just an image with the title and author. Fezmar9 (talk) 18:50, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have not received your email.--Cannibaloki 20:59, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Cannibaloki 21:25, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Does that big grin mean you got it? The email is no longer in my outbox, so I assume it went through... Fezmar9 (talk) 22:16, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes and also I've read the whole article. Thanks!--Cannibaloki 22:33, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nirvana 2002[edit]

There is enough content to create an article about Nirvana 2002 on issues 62 and 63 of Decibel magazine?--Cannibaloki 05:41, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is that a question? Issue 62 has a half page article that gives good details about the band that would make a really good source, and the article in issue 63 is a review of Recordings 89-91. Fezmar9 (talk) 03:17, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I forgot to add a question mark at the end of the sentence. So please send me the scanned pages!--Cannibaloki 14:29, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Without the question mark it seemed like you were telling me to create an article on Nirvana 2002 lol. In the interest of file space, this time I will only send you only the specific articles you requested without the band pics and other fluff. Fezmar9 (talk) 18:49, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, no problem!--Cannibaloki 19:02, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Have you read the article?--Cannibaloki 19:29, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Briefly. Enough to know that it gave a pretty good overview of the band to make a good source. Why? Fezmar9 (talk) 19:43, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
What?--Cannibaloki 19:46, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Your original request here was to know whether or not this journal article would make a good source for a Wikipedia article. I read enough of it just to confirm that. Sometimes Decibel writes about cooking recipes from bands, tour journals, opinions and other random editorials. I wanted to make sure it wasn't an article like that before I emailed you a copy. Fezmar9 (talk) 19:51, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Unless you were referring to me having read the Nirvana 2002 Wikipedia article? Fezmar9 (talk) 20:01, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) Got it. Actually I could have answered your question with two quotations. Yes, this time the magazine's writers did a good job. For example, the review of Recordings 89–91, where Cosmo Lee wrote: "Yes, new bands are playing old-school Swedish death metal now. No, they're not better than the originals. The spirit is admirable—to recapture the rawness and urgency that modern production sucked out of the music. But these revivalists only have it half right." And then Chris Ulsh of Mammoth Grinder said about his band's Extinction of Humanity album: "The songs have an early Swedish death metal influence but the recording itself is more punk friendly, very noisy similar to the Nihilist demos or some of the Carnage recordings since we decided to record to tape this time." Understand? --Cannibaloki 20:22, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It sounds like you're trying to teach me about the history of metal. No? Fezmar9 (talk) 00:50, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hahahahaha!!!--Cannibaloki 04:12, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, I am so very confused right now... Fezmar9 (talk) 04:28, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Relax, I'm not trying to teach you anything.--Cannibaloki 05:31, 18 August 2010 (UTC) [reply]
What if I like to learn? So what were you trying to say? Maybe something got lost in translation... Fezmar9 (talk) 17:31, 18 August 2010 (UTC) [reply]
Huh?--Cannibaloki 17:43, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I have, why do you ask? Fezmar9 (talk) 17:46, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Have you read Nirvana 2002's article? --Cannibaloki 17:50, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I have. Fezmar9 (talk) 18:01, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, that's all.--Cannibaloki 18:12, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Are you planning on adding an infobox? Fezmar9 (talk) 03:20, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done!--Cannibaloki 03:44, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mag scans[edit]

Hey! I saw you had a list of magazine scans you could offer, which is a really awesome thing to do, I must say. I was wondering if you had the chance to hook me up with the Polar Bear Club article and review in Alt Press Volume 24 Issue #255 (October 2009) and A Wilhelm Scream review in Alt Press Volume 24 Issue #258 (January 2010). Would be really great if you had the time. Kindest, Petternitter (talk). —Preceding undated comment added 22:18, 1 September 2010 (UTC).[reply]

You're in luck! Those two issues did not get lost in the move to my new place. The printer cables, however, did. Gimmie your email address and I can dig out the cables later today. Fezmar9 (talk) 17:16, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, mate. Thanks a bunch! E-mail: petternitter@gmail.com. Petternitter (talk) 00:38, 4 September 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.213.99.166 (talk) [reply]
Sent! I cropped the entire page down to just the review you were looking for in the interest of file size. A hi-res image of a full page can take a while to download. Both reviews ran into the end of the page and carried over to the next line, so that's why they look a little funny. Fezmar9 (talk) 16:57, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Decibel #77 - March 2011[edit]

Ulcerate complete please!!!--Cannibaloki 01:35, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sent. Fezmar9 (talk) 17:40, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Read, thanks!--Cannibaloki 14:53, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Avenged Sevenfold[edit]

Hey, I'm doing something on Avenged Sevenfold, and can't find the issues anywhere where I live. Could I get scans of whatever Revolver magazines you have that mention them? Thank you so much! Thanks! TruthorDair27 (talk) 20:13, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Shaylee (truthorDair27)[reply]

I responded on your talk page so that you'd see the "New Message" banner when you log in. Fezmar9 (talk) 22:38, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mitochondrion[edit]

Please send me the featured article and the album review.--Malconfort (talk) 23:54, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I found and sent the review, but can't find the feature. Do you know what issue it's from? Fezmar9 (talk) 22:37, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I was mistaken, there's no magazine feature. Off-topic: Have you listen to Inevitable End's The Oculus?--Malconfort (talk) 01:40, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not familiar with the group, but if they're on par with everything else Relapse has released I'm sure it's quality stuff. Fezmar9 (talk) 00:58, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Decibel June 2009[edit]

I have access to this solitary Decibel. Would you like me to add it to your list of sources with the disclaimer that it's third-party (i.e. via me)? Seegoon (talk) 10:45, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yea, sounds like a good idea to me! Just be sure to bold and/or link your user name next to the issue you add. Fezmar9 (talk) 05:13, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. It's a bit buried away at the moment but I'll add it when I can. I also have an issue of Rock-A-Rolla coming which I can add if you like. It's pretty obscure, but worthy of its own article apparently. Seegoon (talk) 19:57, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Alternative Press Volume 24 Issue #257 (December 2009)[edit]

Can you send me an article about AFI from AP #257 please? Hatrah (talk) 20:19, 12 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Scans[edit]

Just came across these (excellent idea btw) and wanted to see if you can provide some scans. Rock-A-Rolla Issue #19: Crippled Black Pheonix, Wolves in the Throne Room and any related reviews to those two. Decibel Issue #81: Duff McKagan's Loaded. Issues #79 and 39: Electric Wizard. If that's ok? The Loaded article I edit frequently and the other three I wish to improve on at some point. HrZ (talk) 17:08, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I could probably find time to do this today. I haven't updated these lists to reflect my more recent issues due to the lack of enthusiasm for this project, so I'll see if I have some other stuff on Electric Wizard or Loaded. You're going to want to contact User:Seegoon about anything from Rock-A-Rolla–he has that issue and is willing to provide scans for it. Fezmar9 (talk) 16:30, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry I've been taking forever on this. I just scanned all the articles on Loaded and Electric Wizard you requested. What's your email address? Wikipedia's "Email this user" function doesn't have an attachment option. Fezmar9 (talk) 06:00, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

AP Issue 263 Cap'n Jazz Oral History[edit]

Hey, I came across your page while looking for scans of the Oral History of Cap'n Jazz article. If you happen to still be doing this and would be able to scan that article for me, that would be fantastic, as it is hard to find any sources of much length on this topic. Thanks so much in advance! Checkmate987 (talk) 14:29, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

YES! I'm actually pretty glad someone requested this article. Email me through Wikipedia, and I'll reply with an attachment of the article. Fezmar9 (talk) 21:44, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, done! Checkmate987 (talk) 15:01, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
