Greetings, Fanofauburn. I have noticed that you have repeated deleted several references from the "Southeastern Conference" article to national football championships and AIAW national team championships in women's sports. I would be grateful if you would take a few moments to explain your deletions on the article discussion page (please see Talk:Southeastern Conference#National championships deleted?). As you may or may not know, we prize consensus in our cooperative editing of Wikipedia articles, and your recent edits seem to be emphasizing your own opinion over that of other editors and the established precedent of listing ALL national team championships won by SEC teams, and not just those sponsored by the NCAA. Your participation in the discussion on the article talk page would be appreciated. Thanks. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 03:52, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Because the NCAA does not recognize football championships like you keep adding to in the total amounts. The NCAA recognized National titles are the ones I keep changing, but yet you continue to alter them again and again. No team in division 1-A (FBS) has a NCAA football championship as I have indicated. I am only showing true stats on nat'l titles in the totals.

Fanofauburn, I would be grateful if you would move this discussion to the article talk page. I am quite certain that other Wikipedia editors would like to participate in this discussion. At the end of the day, Wikipedia relies on WP:Consensus, which means no one editor gets to have his or her way. Like I said, other editors are going to want to know why you are arbitrarily deleting the national football championships----one of the historic strengths of the SEC. Sources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mythical_national_championship from wikipedia's own page. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Which_NCAA_football_team_has_won_the_most_National_Championships_in_modern_football http://www.ncaa.com/history/football/fbs these are not NCAA championships As from my name, I am an Auburn fan and student; HOWEVER, NO SEC TEAM HAS A NCAA FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP. With no playoff, the NCAA does not award a football champion. Reason for the name MNC or Mythical national championship
