Week8 / assignment 8/ sunnydayreading

Hi, The first article is Eutrophication. I found a citation from Oxford Academic that explain Nettles and thorn bushes can be turn into Forest undergrowth. Here is a link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Eutrophication&diff=1057690057&oldid=1054196315 . The second article is Dead Zone. I add a citation for this article shows that the algal bloom is a phenomenon of phytoplankton growth. Here is a link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dead_zone_(ecology)&diff=1057691518&oldid=1055605656 . I learned a lot through this activity. Similar with our research proposal, every statement needs an evidence to support. And each support should be authentic. Best, Sunnydayreading (talk) 02:58, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

Sunnydayreading, Per the assignment, "also include a sentence or two to express your contribution in context and demonstrate how it adds to the knowledge in the article." Ping me here when you add this and I will review it. FULBERT (talk) 04:44, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
FULBERT , thanks for your reply. The article Eutrophication mentioned that the forest undergrowth caused by Nettles and thorn bushes. However, I found this statement has not cicitation. And a note from other editor said that need a furture citation to support it. Therefore, I found an peer reviewed article to support this statement.

For the second article Deadzoom, the article claims that algal bloom is a phenomenon of phytoplankton growth. Similar with the article Eutrophication, it also had a tag from other editors which requiring further reference to support it. So, I added a peer reviewed article to support it. Sunnydayreading (talk) 07:39, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

Sunnydayreading, Those are fine places for citations, though this assignment requires you to add one to two sentences each in addition to the citation. Please ping me when done. FULBERT (talk) 14:45, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
FULBERT 1) Added a further explanation to the runoff of undergrowth : terrestrial plants have high nitrogen requirements. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Eutrophication&type=revision&diff=1058838242&oldid=1057690057 2) I added explaination why Bacillus and Nocardia can degrade PET. Because the PET can be esterases by Bacillus and Nocardia. And Esterase is an enzyme family that able to cleave the ester bond. Diff link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Polyethylene_terephthalate&type=revision&diff=1058840114&oldid=1057659297 Thanks! Sunnydayreading (talk) 22:27, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

Week9 / assignment 9/ sunnydayreading

Hi, The first article is Conus textile. The article mentioned Conus textile will stinging human, and several human deaths based on this attribute. I added a citation to support this idea. Here is link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Conus_textile&diff=1057698157&oldid=1054733046 . The second article is Low-density polyethylene. There is a footnote showing that a citation needs to be improve. So, I found a journal article from the ScienceDirect. Here is a link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Low-density_polyethylene&diff=1057706288&oldid=1053243851 . After this activity, I have learned to review the citation. We need to keep our citation most current and authentic.

Reflection: I really enjoy this extra credit activity overall. This is a great opportunity for me to read and learn. Even contribute to the field that I spend whole semester to do the research. I have how to insert picture and citation in the Wikipedia. And I also realize the importance of evaluate the citation. Although this is my first time to edit Wikipedia. However, I will continue to contribute my effort supporting the Wikipedia. I feel a sense of achievement from these extra credit assignments.

Sincerely Sunnydayreading (talk) 05:24, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

Sunnydayreading, Per the assignment, "also include a sentence or two to express your contribution in context and demonstrate how it adds to the knowledge in the article." Ping me here when you add this and I will review it. FULBERT (talk) 04:44, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
FULBERT, For the first article,Conus textile, this is a B grade article. Several human deaths have been attributed to Conus textile. I added a citation from the nature footgae which has a detailed description for Conus textile's attributed, and relative death records. This citation improved credit of this article and proved the dangerous attributed of Conus textile. The second article, Low-density polyethylene, this also a B grade article. The orignal citation is a chemical article from the a website. There is a tag from other editor suggesting that one of citation is clearly bogus.I found a citation from the Science Direct, which is also a peer review article. The thrustworth citation can make this article more reliable. Sunnydayreading (talk) 08:00, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
Sunnydayreading, Add the sentence or two to the article itself. FULBERT (talk) 17:41, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
FULBERT, Thanks for your reply. 1) I add the Habitat of Cnus textile based on the information from a peer review article. And added the statiscs number of human injury due to the CONUS textile. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Conus_textile&type=revision&diff=1058842617&oldid=1057698157

2) For the second article, Low-density Polyethylene, I made improvement based on its real life applications. Here is a link diff to show my current work and previous work: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Low-density_polyethylene&type=revision&diff=1058846092&oldid=1057706288 . Week5 / assignment 5/ sunnydayreading

Hi,

The Agenda 21 is a C level article still with room for improvement. I found a sentence under support section still needs citation to support: In the absence of a multi-sectoral consensus on how to achieve sustainable development in the United States, the PCSD was conceived to formulate recommendations for the implementation of Agenda 21 (Agenda 21, Wikipedia). In order to support it, I went through the Agdenda 21 and PCSD documents. Here is a link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Agenda_21&type=revision&diff=1056831619&oldid=1054064900 I learned the importance of ciatation. Citation is a way to give credit to the writers from whom you have borrowed words and ideas.

Thanks

Sunnydayreading, Per the assignment, "also include a sentence or two to express your contribution in context and demonstrate how it adds to the knowledge in the article." Ping me here when you add this and I will review it. FULBERT (talk) 04:41, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
FULBERT, there is a statement about USA PCSD's movemnet towarding the Agenda 21. However, there is no evidence to support it. I found two citations that proved the author's idea. Both of them are from the offical website. The frist citation is from the USA PCSD , and second citation is from the United nations. These two ciatation provide the idea/statement is from a correct source. Sunnydayreading (talk) 08:14, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
Sunnydayreading, Add a sentence or two to the article itself describing your contribution and extracting the idea from the citation. FULBERT (talk) 17:42, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
FULBERT, I specified 10 common goals toward Agenda 21 by the PCSD in the article. Here is a diff link based on my previous edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Agenda_21&type=revision&diff=1058833533&oldid=1057841130 Sunnydayreading (talk) 21:25, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

Week7 / assignment 7/ sunnydayreading

Hi, The first article is Green Chemistry, a B grade article. I found a book from Taylor & Francis Group, Impact of Nano-materials on Health and Environment, to prove the necessity of impact consideration on the Nano-materials. Here is a link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Green_chemistry&diff=1057666635&oldid=1049550564 The second article is Clothing Industry, also a B grade article. I found two articles through the NYU database to show a trend of sustainable model in the clothing industry. Here is a link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Clothing_industry&diff=1057669717&oldid=1055299711 Green Marketing is my research topic. I gained a better understanding on green product and materials. This a very good experience for me to add these citations for the article which is related to my research proposal.

Best, Sunnydayreading (talk) 00:12, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

Sunnydayreading, Per the assignment, "also include a sentence or two to express your contribution in context and demonstrate how it adds to the knowledge in the article." Ping me here when you add this and I will review it. FULBERT (talk) 04:43, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
FULBERT, 1) There is a statement suggesting the necessity of impact consideration on the Nano-materials. Because the nano materials will have impact on the environment and human health. However, there is no citation for that statement. I found an article from the Taylor & Francis Group that suggesting the Nano materials will have an impact on the environment and human health. The citation show readers this idea/statement is valid.

2) One of the editor made a statement that the clothing industry has grown to an eco-friendly packaging solution to limit the amount of waste. For the second article, the statement also has no citation to support. I also saw that someone made a tag to reuqire citation to support it. I did a lot of study based on green clothing industry. I found two citations to suopoort it. The first ciatation is from mckinsey, they published a report from their director, announced that the clothing industry is moving to green packing solution with some statistic information. And Second citation is from the ScienceDirect. The second citation introduced a trend in apparel industry to adopt sustainable packing. These two citation serves as a fact-checking tool that help reader to verify the accuracy of statement. Sunnydayreading (talk) 08:53, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

Sunnydayreading, Include this within the article not here. FULBERT (talk) 17:54, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
FULBERT, For the first article, I added some real example of aspects to think about issues associated with nanomaterials. Diff link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Green_chemistry&type=revision&diff=1058835145&oldid=1057666635

For the second article, I added regulations of packing waste from China, the U.S and Canada to support the statment of green packing. Diff link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Clothing_industry&type=revision&diff=1058836466&oldid=1057669717 Sunnydayreading (talk) 22:26, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

1.DJI、is a technology company that I like very much. I added the news in November 2015, DJI announced the establishment of a strategic partnership with Hasselblad. 2. DIFF:https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=DJI&diff=1058879037&oldid=1056630682 3.I found that some information on the wiki is not very credible. For example, there is no official report about DJI’s acquisition of a majority stake in Hasselblad, only some leaked news. 4.I learned a lot from the extra credit of the WIKI. Not only know how to contribute to the WIKI and publish my own edits, but also I often browse the WIKI and read the knowledge I am interested in. 1.I visited the Intrepid aircraft carrier with my friends on the weekend. I find it very interesting. So I choose Aircraft carrier as my article. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Aircraft_carrier&diff=1058849637&oldid=1058849502 2. Second article I choose lululemon. On Black Friday I bought a yoga pants. I think its marketing is very successful. It was the first brand I thought of. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lululemon_Athletica&diff=1058850035&oldid=1057300057 I think I learned a lot when I was looking for information about aircraft carriers. Although the US military has already ranked first in the world in terms of maritime power. But still spending a lot of money to build aircraft carriers. I think the US military has excessive military spending and it is not conducive to world peace. Regarding lululemon, when I checked the information. I found that most of the reviews are negative. But for me as a consumer, it has increased my customer experience, and I think it is very good.Cloi929 (talk) 00:05, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
