Flemish painters[edit]

Thanks so much for looking at the Flemish painters. They definitely need some Wiki-love. I noticed that you added the birthplace into the byline for some painters that already had the birthplace in their infoboxes. I personally don't care how this information is presented and for years I included it in the byline, but I have noticed that in the past couple of years that these have been edited out and now I includde sentences under the biography section like "He was born in Brussels. ... He died in Antwerp.". I am not very big on the WP policy pages (which seem to change regularly anyway), but I just thought I should warn you as others may revert your edits for that reason. I hope you decide to work on some of the Flemish still life painters you have been categorizing! Best, Jane (talk) 11:45, 9 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New articles[edit]

Thanks so much for your work on Flemish painters! I noticed you have already figured out how to link your new articles to existing Wikidata items, but your most recent additions did not yet have a Wikidata item. I went ahead and created these. It's not very difficult if you first install a java script so that from the Wikipedia page you can just click through the Wikidata item link to new item creation and then click male-painter-Netherlands-country of citizenship-birth date-death date. I copy-paste a piece of the lead text for the description. Without actually typing the data over again, you can just re-use your work this way. If you are interested, have a look at my common.js on Wikidata here. Alternatively, the other way around, you can also begin a Wikipdia page from an existing Wikidata item by creating a Wikipedia stub using the prepbio tool, for example like this for Gommaert van der Gracht. Happy editing, and thanks again! Jane (talk) 18:19, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dutch names[edit]

Don't get too excited by variations in spelling please. Also this is the English Wikipedia, and it is normal and correct to use some English versions of first names. Johnbod (talk) 15:27, 2 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
