Welcome![edit]

Hello, Expectans, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! No talk-page ping-pong[edit]

If you ask something here, I'll answer here. If I asked on your talk page, I expect an answer, if my question deserves one at all, there. Expectans (talk) 22:31, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Patrolling[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your first contributions. Patrolling new pages and proposing or listing articles for deletion requires considerable experience. Please read WP:NPP, follow all the links on that page, and please take note of any special concessions for schools that have been clearly established by the community. As regards your nomination at AfD of Al Yasmina School, everyone with a knowledge of policy and precedent is welcome to contribute, but I find your comments unnecessarily combative. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:44, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Give me a break, Kupung, I know that deleting pages requires experience, but I have been here in WK before, even if it was just in the form of an IP. Expectans (talk) 10:54, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That really is no excuse for your comments on AfD. If you've been here before as an IP then you should know better. As far as schools are concerned, please search for, and read the truly vast amount of discussion that has reinforced time and time again the reasons why we don't waste time deleting schools. If you would like to participate in quasi management areas, the onus is on you to familiarise yourself with policies, consensus, and long accepted precedents. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:38, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I knew it! There is no reason to keep schools, no matter how irrelevant they are. People just keep doing it. Expectans (talk) 11:44, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Why not just drop the combative talk for a start, and people might then help you to find the quite clear reasons you refuse to accept. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 12:05, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am going to combat a little bit more, and see how it works. But thanks for the tip. Expectans (talk) 12:11, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Treating Wikipedia as a place for combat, rather than a collaborative project to build an encyclopedia, is considered disruptive and is dealt with accordingly. Phil Bridger (talk) 19:37, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your editing history[edit]

Have you previously edited under a different id, or did you pick up your knowledge of Wikipedia guidelines, and your confident quoting of of them to make your points, while editing as an unregistered user? Phil Bridger (talk) 17:55, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes.
Yes to which? Phil Bridger (talk) 19:30, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I see now that you have answered that question in the section above. Phil Bridger (talk) 19:33, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to wikiFeed[edit]

Hello Expectans,

I'm part of a team that is researching ways to help Wikipedia editors find interesting content to contribute to Wikipedia. More specifically, we are investigating whether content from news sources can be used to enhance Wikipedia editing. We have created a tool, called wikiFeed, that allows you to specify Twitter and/or RSS feeds from news sources that are interesting to you. wikiFeed then helps you make connections between those feeds and Wikipedia articles. We believe that using this tool may be a lot of fun, and may help you come up with some ideas on how to contribute to Wikipedia in ways that interest you. Please participate! To do so, complete this survey and follow this link to our website. Once you're there, click the "create an account" link to get started.

For more information about wikiFeed, visit our project page. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask via my talk page, or by email at wikifeedcc@gmail.com. We appreciate your time and hope you enjoy playing with wikiFeed!
