COI editing

Will you forgive an oldbie for giving you unsolicited advice, about this edit in particular?

Through the years of new page patrolling, anti-vandalism/spam efforts, etc. I have found COI editing to be problematic...but also inevitable. We don't want to accidentally drive good-faith COI editors to steathily edit like ninjas from the stigma being so high. Occassionaly, they'll even help with keeping us up to date with logos, etc. It can be better to direct a new editor to disclose a COI, and where/how to do it than to not edit entirely. If they're good faith and honest, they'll often quite gladly do so, and that's something we can all work with. In mainspace, {{request edit}} would be encouraged.

Also, draftspace has some looser expectations in some areas; COI editors are both allowed and expected to submit drafts instead of creating articles in mainspace. That way, someone without a COI can eye it before it's an actual article. --I dream of horses (talk) (contribs) Remember to {{ping}} me after replying off my talk page 17:04, 11 April 2020 (UTC)
