Welcome!

Hello, EI Graduate, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for helping us build a great free encyclopedia. We have five basic principles, but other than that, we advise that you be bold and edit. If you ever have any questions or need help, feel free to leave a message at the help desk, and other Wikipedia editors will be happy to assist you.

Thanks again and congratulations on becoming a Wikipedian!

P.S. New discussion threads for you will appear at the bottom of this page.

Hello EI Graduate,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, Torsten Stein, may be copied from http://europainstitut.de/index.php?id=623&L=1. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 16:02, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

thank you for the note. Torsten Stein himself wanted me to put this text into the article. It's the text we use for those purposes here at the Institute.

Thank you! --EI Graduate (talk) 16:21, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you have permission to post the content to Wikipedia then you need to follow the instructions here so we can verify that. The text can't be inserted until you have done this. Hut 8.5 19:34, 21 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

I sent the required E-Mail days ago. Since then, half of the article of Torsten Stein was deleted - why? I'm responsible for the marketing of our Institute which also includes uploading articles about our directors in Wikipedia. Torsten Stein himself read and edited the text which I published on his behalf. What's happening here with the article of our well estimated former director Torsten Stein is unacceptable. I politely demand an explanation about what happend to the article and would be very pleased, if someone could tell me what I have to do next to re-establish it. I'm sure you understand that what's left of the article is not representable and should rather be deleted entirely that remain as it is. Thank's in advance for you help. --EI Graduate (talk) 10:22, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

February 2013[edit]

Hello, EI Graduate. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may need to consider our guidance on conflicts of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. JamesBWatson (talk) 14:26, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
