Category:Out-of-band infrastructure[edit]

Please note that simply blanking Category:Out-of-band infrastructure will not delete the category. If you wish to see it deleted, you can nominate the category for deletion or for speedy deletion. AecisBrievenbus 21:11, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

2 more engines for your 2-cycle list[edit]

I noticed you categorizing the 2 stroke diesels, and wanted to bring 2 more 2 cycle engine families to your attention, sadly, they are both currently lacking articles:

  • Winton 201 and 201A series, used in various early EMC locomotives (built in inline 8, and Vee 12 and 16 versions)
  • GM EMD 16-248, and 16-278 series engines, used in a variety of WWII era U.S.Navy craft (similar to an EMD 567 in many ways, but with air start, a 40 degree angle between the banks {567 is 45 degree}, a different connecting rod arrangement, and separate valve covers for each cylinder)

I'm sure the Submarine guys would appreciate an article on the 16- series, and locomotive people like myself would like to see a 201A article (Not so subtle hint...sorry). Wuhwuzdat (talk) 20:27, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Splitvt[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Splitvt. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Splitvt. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:37, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of XGGI[edit]

The article XGGI has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Experimental X server based on a failed graphics API, notability not established

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Disambiguation pages[edit]

Please note that disambiguation pages like Threnody (disambiguation) are meant to help readers find a specific existing article quickly and easily. For that reason, they have guidelines that are different from articles. From the Wikipedia:Disambiguation dos and don'ts you should:

  • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
  • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
  • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry that mentions the title being disambiguated
  • Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
  • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
  • Do not insert external links or references - Wikipedia is not a business directory
  • Do not add articles to acronym or initials disambiguation pages unless the person or entity is widely known by that name (in which case it should be stated in the linked article).

Thank you. Leschnei (talk) 13:26, 9 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
