Drown Soda, it's been over four weeks since the reviewer posted, and I was wondering whether you were planning to return to your nomination in the near future to address the issues that have been noted. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 03:11, 22 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@BlueMoonset: Apologies; I for some reason thought this article had already cleared. I've reassessed the critical reception section, which as far as I see/recall was the only point of contention. I have made some slight alterations to group the critical response around recurrent points of discussion. Let me know if there is something else outstanding here that I've missed. --Drown Soda (talk) 03:31, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Drown Soda, please be sure to post what you've just done to the review page, and ping the reviewer there so they know that you've done that work. Stedil will know if there's anything still outstanding from their review. Thanks! BlueMoonset (talk) 06:12, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I can see you are interested in 1990s rock (due to your interest in Hole) and horror films, and I just nominated an article that has firm ties to both of those things: Born Villain, a horror film starring and co-written by Courtney Love's favorite frenemy, Marilyn Manson. It's a VERY short article, and I would be so grateful if you reviewed it.MagicatthemovieS (talk) 18:04, 22 October 2018 (UTC)MagicatthemovieS[reply]

Sorry Drown Soda, but I'd already begun my review for this article when you did this. I believe me removing another user's contribution could potentially cause problems down the line. Could you please self-revert? Cheers. Homeostasis07 (talk) 23:15, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Homeostasis07: apologies, I missed your review on there--I scrapped the GA review template I put up. Cheers! --Drown Soda (talk) 00:27, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry that the timing didn't work out, Drown Soda. We can collaborate the next time I nominate a horror film for GA.MagicatthemovieS (talk) 04:00, 24 October 2018 (UTC)MagicatthemovieS[reply]

Hi Drown Soda. You were interested in the last Manson article I did and I know you are interested in female musicians due to your "About me" page, so I was wondering: if I got nominated the article for the Manson/Avril Lavigne duet "Bad Girl" for GA status, would you be interested in reviewing it. (It will likely be a VERY brief article when I'm done with it. MagicatthemovieS (talk) 18:50, 25 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@MagicatthemovieS: yes, of course; let me know when you make the nomination. --Drown Soda (talk) 03:24, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Drown Soda: I just nominated the article.~MagicatthemovieS

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Notice

The file File:Final Exam 1981 soundtrack.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Final Exam (film)#Musical score. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:09, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there, I'm improving a horror article and I was wondering if you would be interested in reviewing it once it's done. It's the article for "Lot No. 249". Let me know & thanks again for tackling so many articles. MagicatthemovieS (talk) 00:41, 18 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@MagicatthemovieS: I would be glad to review "Lot No. 249"; as for the Elton John article, that one is a bit much for me to tackle at the moment and my knowledge of him is cursory at best, but as far as the former, I'd be glad to. Please include edit summaries[edit]

As I have mentioned before, I have noticed that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! The Disappearance of Leigh Occhi[edit]

My name is Jordan Morse. Leigh was my childhood girlfriend, and I just want to say thank you for creating an article for her. I have carried her disappearance with me since the day it happened and I called her house only to find out what it meant to be "missing." I will say this to you, as I have said to many others, though... it has never made print anywhere, but I have told every single person that has ever interviewed me that when her mother picked up the phone to tell me she was missing she began FAKE SOBBING. I know you cannot post it on her page, as it can in no way be verified... but I swear on everything I hold sacred that she was fake sobbing. I knew something wasnt right then, and I still know it today. Whether or not Kearns was involved, I will never know... but I know what my experience was that day on the phone.

Anyway, here is my facebook if you ever want to talk or if there is any way I can help.

Oh one last thing... Kearns is getting out in a few days... and I have a bad feeling about that. Thought maybe youd want to know. THank you so much for caring about this.

Help Formatting Table for Filmography Page[edit]

Good evening, Drown Soda,

I came by to ask you too help me fix the formatting for a filmography page; in particular, Earl Holliman filmography. If you could help format the section for his awards and unmade films into the same context as his Film and Episodic credits are now, that would not only make the page more orderly but make it more complete in terms of appearances and formation. I hope you can help me maneuver this because it would help me out a lot and do his page more clean and organization justice. Please help me with the formatting whenever possible as I have had such a headache trying to figure it out on my own. Notice

The file File:Prom Night 1980 soundtrack cover.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Prom Night (1980 film)#Soundtrack.

-- Marchjuly (talk) 05:45, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that File:Psycho II 1983 soundtrack.jpg and File:Psycho II soundtack reissue.jpg have been also proposed for deletion for reasons similar to those give above. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:54, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! I need to ask you something.[edit]

@Drown Soda: I’m curious as to why you removed the link for the 1979 film Human Experiments on The Prey page? It was for the exact same film that both Edwin and Summer Brown were involved with. On the British Film Institute website page for Human Experiments, both of them were credited as producer and executive producer respectively. You can check it out here. Whenever you have any available time to respond, I'd be more than happy to discuss this more with you!--WerewolfNightmare (talk) 05:17, 22 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October![edit]

Greetings!

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.

On English Wikipedia, we would be recognizing participants in the following manner:

  • Overall winner (1st, 2nd, 3rd places)
  • Diversity winner
  • Gender-gap fillers

For further information about the contest, the recognition categories and how to participate, please visit the contest page here. For further inquiries, please leave comments on the contest talkpage or on the main project talkpage. See you around :).--Jamie Tubers (talk) 00:50, 30 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2019 US Banknote Contest[edit]

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

Boring Middle School moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Boring Middle School, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Please see the school article guidelines which describes how the content of school articles should be organized, with the aim of providing general guidance to editors. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi Drown Soda. When you move pages like "Monkey Shines" for diambiguation purposes, please check to make sure that there aren't any non-free files being used in the article. All non-free files are required to have separate specific non-free use rationales for each use; so, when you change the name of an article, the rationale also needs to be correspondingly changed to avoid problems like this. I caught this and re-added the file to the infobox, but non-free files which aren't being used in any articles can be speedily deleted per WP:F5 after five days. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:33, 6 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Marchjuly: thanks for the heads up; I simply overlooked the fact that this would conflict with the linked fair-use rationale. --Drown Soda (talk) 07:31, 6 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
