Welcome to WikiProject Oregon! If you'd like, you can add the WP Oregon userbox to your user page using this code: {{User WikiProject Oregon}}. Check out the ongoing and archived discussions at WT:ORE and be sure to add the page to your Watchlist. If you are new to Wikipedia, it's a good idea to browse through the core principles of Wikipedia as well. The project home page at WP:ORE has many useful links to get you started. The recent changes and recent discussions links will display recent edits on articles within the project's scope. Welcome! Valfontis (talk) 15:55, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

Non-English redirects

I see you're proposing some redirects that User:Sweepy created for deletion, on the basis that they are "Non-English". What WP:R says on the topic is "In particular, redirects from a foreign language title to a page whose subject is unrelated to that language (or a culture that speaks that language) should generally not be created", however the redirects I've seen are directly related to Russia and as such do not seem to contravene this. LjL (talk) 00:34, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

I apologize, I had assumed that with the way the communities are set up, these sorts of titles should perhaps be within the Russian Wikipedia. If this is in fact something other than my assumption, thank you for letting me know, and I will remember that from now on. Sorry for the hassle on your part! --JustAnIng (Talk){USER} 00:39, 16 November 2015 (UTC)
I understand why you were perplexed at those redirects. But think about it, would you be as perplexed if they were simply local spellings but in the Latin alphabet of other geographical places? Italia redirects to Italy. Or original-language names of works? I promessi sposi redirects to The Betrothed. I think you may be swayed by the fact that there's a different writing system involved here, but I'm not sure that ought to be relevant. LjL (talk) 00:42, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on New Orleans Academy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. New deal for page patrollers

Hi Dross,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:28, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

Result of your edit warring complaint

Please see the closure of your edit warring complaint. The story about Viljiet Kaur's plan for an arranged marriage can't be included without a reliable source. I'll notify Special:Contributions/Mediawatch922 as well. I understand you were trying to bring an end to the war by filing at AN3. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 19:55, 31 December 2017 (UTC)
