  • A couple of things on how to proceed with the article on Tau Phi Sigma:
First, you have a conflict of interest, since it is your fraternity. While this does not mean you can't create an article on it, It does mean you need to be very careful to present information in neutral point of view and citing independent reliable sources whenever possible.
Second, permission to use the text is not sufficient; the fraternity would have to relicense the text under Creative Commons and GFDL licenses for it to be usable on Wikipedia. Even then, large sections of the text would be subject to removal as blatant advertising. Also, the article could (and likely would) be edited by other editors, so the donated text from the fraternity's website might not stay in the article for long.
The best course is probably to start an article, from scratch, modeled on other fraternities' articles. Write it neutrally, cite newspaper and magazine articles about the fraternity, and be prepared for other editors to rewrite it wholesale. —C.Fred (talk) 17:09, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
