Welcome to Wikipedia, Drew Stanley! I'm I dream of horses, and I've been assigned as your mentor. About half of new Wikipedia accounts receive a mentor chosen randomly from a list of volunteers. It just means I'm here to help with anything you need! We need to have all kinds of people working together to create an online encyclopedia, so I'm glad you're here. Over time, you will figure out what you enjoy doing the most on Wikipedia.

You might have noticed that you have access to a tutorial and suggested edits. It's recommended that you take advantage of this, as it'll make learning how to edit Wikipedia easier.

If you need assistance with anything or have any questions, click on the "Get editing help" button on the bottom right corner of your screen. This will open up a module with links to help pages and a place to ask me questions. You can also ask me questions directly on my talk page, or go here to get help from the wider community.

Again, welcome to Wikipedia! I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 02:27, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

February 2024[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm 2601:5CC:8300:A7F0:6114:50AB:E896:7E16. I noticed that you recently removed all content from a page. Please do not do this. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. As a rule, if you discover a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If a page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you wish to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. 2601:5CC:8300:A7F0:6114:50AB:E896:7E16 (talk) 21:53, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Summaries[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to Employee stock purchase plan did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! — voidxor 00:54, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Ill summarize my edits in the edit summary field Drew Stanley (talk) 01:58, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Removing content[edit]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Cuius regio, eius religio, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. Sincerely, Guessitsavis (she/they) (Talk) 18:26, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, it appears that I saw this edit, and its massive deletion of text, and assumed that said edit was unexplained content removal. I apologize for any inconvenience. Sincerely, Guessitsavis (she/they) (Talk) 18:42, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What should i do now? @Guessitsavis ?

We do not fix issues with articles by deleting them. If you think the article needs improvement, then work to improve it. Skyerise (talk) 16:42, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

who is we and why are you telling me what to do
This project has policies and guidelines which you have to follow. One principle is that editors don't go slapping maintenance templates on articles without posting the details of their objections on the talk page. You received a welcome message with links to our major and minor policies and guidelines. It is your responsibility to educate yourself about them and to avoid editing disruptively without even attempting to collaborate by forming a consensus for action on the talk page. First thing you need to do is learn how to sign your comments by placing ~~~~ at the end of your posts. Skyerise (talk) 16:50, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
thanks for teaching me. I wont go on modern witch-hunts anymore. I am sure you can fix it completely by deleting everything that i thought had an issue. I did post on the talk page, but I dont see your post. 17:28, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
could you please exaplain why my name doesn't show up at the end even with the symbols? thanks for your help 22:54, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
You need to put headings on new posts on talk pages. You also didn't list any detailed reasons, just your personal opinion, which is not sufficient.
If you put 5 tildes instead of 4, it will only add the date. We have plenty of help pages. I am here to edit articles, not to tutor new editors. Read your welcome message at the top of this page and use the resources listed there for help. Skyerise (talk) 23:27, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I didnt know these things I'll ask questions to my mentor @I dream of horses from now on since you are here to edit articles.Drew Stanley (talk) 15:54, 24 February 2024 (UTC) Drew Stanley (talk) 15:54, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
