You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Please declare any Conflict of Interest or Paid Editing[edit]

Hello Andrew. I presume that you manage or at least contribute to the website of the Cannabinoid Research Initiative of Saskatchewan? I ask this because on the same day (27th Dec 2017) that you created the new Wikipedia page, entitled the Cannabinoid Research Initiative of Saskatchewan, that website announced on its homepage that it now has a Wikipedia page. "CRIS Activities & News Dec 27, 2017: CRIS Wikipedia page was published" Quite a coincidence.

Indeed your publications page proudly announces this Wikipedia article as being a publication of one of its members. "Publications from CRIS members: Wikipedia Page: Cannabinoid Research Initiative of Saskatchewan, CRIS" I presume that member is you? And by 30th December this personal page of Andrew L. (staff member) also linked to the new Wikipedia page.

So, may I ask you to carefully read our policy on declaring conflict of interest and declaring that you are WP:PAID to write about it? (This includes whilst you're on holiday from your normal employment). We don't ban editors from writing about their organisations but, recognising that doing so in a neutral, independent manner is very challenging for an employee, we do require a clear declaration to be made by editors. (You might want to take the chance to sort out your User page whilst you're at it, which has been a mess since 2014)

Having done that, you may then wish to go back and, using only independent third-party sources which have written about your organisation, reword the article so that it demonstrates notability according to our guidelines for organisations. Please do not expand the article unless based on independent sources, or it may well be put forward for a discussion on deletion. You will note that I have nominated the organisations logo that you uploaded to Commons (under a free for commercial use licence) for deletion as it clearly shown is on the Cannabinoid Research Initiative of Saskatchewan homepage as copyright. This is easy to get around before or after deletion by an authorised person sending an WP:OTRS request via an officially recognisable email address and releasing the image for free commercial use. (There's a formal form of words we require to release it). If you need help with that, ask on Wikimedia, or if you're really stuck, here at the Teahouse. Hello Nick

Thank-you for your review and suggestions. I was not aware of most aspects of the conflict of interest guidelines for Wikipedia. I've started to review the relevant pages and organize an appropriate response. I have some homework to perform. I am not a paid in any manner for this work related to research and the University of Saskatchewan, but I am a volunteer-faculty member and clearly I have a conflict of interest related to creation of this page.
