Gorilla Operation

Very nice message. I hate to see newbies feel they're being "bitten" by Afd, and sometimes, good intentions aside, it come across that way. I like the idea of encouraging people to sign up and put the content in their user space in cases like this. Thanks for helping make WP a friendlier place. Friday (talk) 14:11, 2 October 2005 (UTC)

Author of GO: Thanks for the whole speech on why my article doesn't deserve to be on the site. I agree with you to an extent. I know about all the rules and such and agree my article may not fit in with the rules. I still think its a great article and should be allowd somewhere. If you become an administrator, maybe you could put forward the idea of having a "new and upcomming band" segment of the site devoted to these sorts of articles. cheers.

Adminship

I have nominated you for adminship. JIP | Talk 16:21, 2 October 2005 (UTC)

I was changing my vote before you even asked. Indeed, as I stated in the nomination I was looking for information like that for the purpose of verification, so thank you very much for providing it. :) Mallocks 14:51, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

Also, please feel free to close and redirect as you suggest. Mallocks 14:57, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
After consideration, I closed it myself, given the evidence provided it was just threatening to become a waste of some poor admin's time. Again thank you for your help. Mallocks 15:24, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

hey, this is wolfpackfan72, I didn't try to not sign my name, I'm a fairly new user and I simply didn't know how to. also, I was not being silly, I think the artical was compleatly ligit, people seem to think that things that are a long time away can't be speculated on. It hurt my feelings to hear that you think I would ingage in vandelism. Please write back, however, you seem like a nice guy.

Re: Umm... RfA?

Sorry, but I probably won't be voting on your RfA. Don't take it personally; it's nothing against you — I usually don't vote unless it's someone I've had interaction with, or if I haven't, I take time to look at the edits and contributions. I just don't have the time to look through every candidate's record. Yiyu

Hi,DS I propose the following passages in Mao Zedong, I also proposed them to Great Veritas, what do you think?

Mao has also been criticized for his role in creating a cult of personality. As well, Mao is widely held responsible for the millions of deaths that occurred during his lifetime - both indirectly, as a result of flawed policies during the Three Bitter Years, and directly, as a result of power struggles and the execution of those who were linked to his opponents and rivals.

Contemporary views about him in the PRC are affected by bans on some works that harshly criticise Mao. The controversial "Mao: the Unknown Story", by Jung Chang and Jon Halliday, provides a far less flattering picture of Mao than previous historical works do. Chang's book claims that he fabricated many myths about his background and youth, to enhance his image as a true "people's hero". Chang's book also suggests that details relevant to key events in the Long March, in particular the 1935 Battle of Luding Bridge, were falsified.

Thanks, Yiyu 16:17, 9 October 2005 (UTC)

You're a sysop!

Hi, DragonflySixtyseven/Archive02, Congratulations on Becoming a Sysop

Hey there. I'm pleased to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator! You've volunteered to do housekeeping duties that normal users sadly cannot participate in. Sysops can't do a lot of stuff: They can't delete pages just like that (except patent nonsense like "aojt9085yu8;3ou"), and they can't protect pages in an edit war they are involved in. But they can delete random junk, ban anonymous vandals, delete pages listed on Votes for deletion (provided there's a consensus) for more than one week, protect pages when asked to, and keep the few protected pages that exist on Wikipedia up to date.

Almost anything you can do can be undone, but please take a look at The Administrators' how-to guide and the Administrators' reading list before you get started (although you should have read that during your candidacy ;). Take a look before experimenting with your powers. Also, please add Administrators' noticeboard to your watchlist, as there are always discussions/requests for admins there. If you have any questions drop me a message at My talk page. Have fun! =Nichalp «Talk»=

He's been creating garbage article again (check the deletion log - Sumeet was created and deleted three times in one day). Time for a block? DS 02:07, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

The IP address appears to belong to Beaconhills Christian College in Victoria, Australia. I'm not convinced all edits from this IP are from the same editor. Many of the edits look like newbie tests, and are certainly at the low end of the vandalism spectrum. There also have been no edits for several hours, so any short block probably wouldn't even be noticed.-gadfium 04:48, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

I have changed this into a disambiguation page referring to the dish which is an alternative name for souvlaki and two places referred to in the Times Atlas namely the resort on Zakynthos and a village in Thessalia.

There are a number of linking articles from what links here. For the articles that refer to the dish, I will delink it as there is already a link to souvlaki. I have created a stub on the resort called Kalamaki (Zakynthos) and there is a redlink for the village. There are links from other articles on Greek towns and the Greek civil war which I am not sure which place they refer to. I will leave messages on the respective talk pages to try and find out. I will also look at seeking assistance from other appropriate pages.

I would be grateful if you could have a look at the Kalamaki article and the Kalamaki (Zakynthos) stub. Capitalistroadster 10:22, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

I blocked this user under the username policy because if such a name were not considered confusing, everyone could pick their favorite chemical as their username. To those of us who don't have any particular training in chemistry, these terms look like random strings of letters and numbers. But there was also the issue, as I recall, of the user being involved in some vandalisms and personal attacks. --Ryan Delaney talk 01:46, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for the speedy deletion with the redundant hockey rosters. That was nice. Do you think you could do something about this article Jean-Jacques Daigneault? Welcome To The Dragonfly Barn
Have You Seen This Barnstar For Helping Newcomers?

Hey Dragonfly, as per my tradition, I give an entire barn rather than just a barnstar for people I vote adminship to since becoming an admin has so many more responsibilities than those related to things you'd get a barnstar for. However, I've been pressed for time lately, and I've forgotten to give it to you until now.
Looking at your talk page and some related edits, I'd also like to give you this Missing Barnstar for your help with Newcomers since you've been long overdue for a barnstar and it most have gotten lost or something. Hopefully we'll find it;-) Karmafist 01:46, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

I noticed you're doing a lot of indef blocks on Curps-related usernames; just so you know, Curps is running a block bot that is also blocking all of those users. We've set up a live feed on IRC #wikipedia-en-newusers to monitor user creation and blocking. I didn't want you to have to take the time to block them when they're being automatically blocked by Curps. -- Essjay · Talk 00:34, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

Speedy deletion

Hi. About the speedy deletion for the List of cities in Kuwait, if you had looked into the discussion page you would have seen my reasons. Yes, I am kuwaiti, and know that Kuwait only has one major city (and two minor ones). The "cities" listed in the article are small suburbs within the city which hold a few thousand people each. (if even that much). There is already an article on the Governorates of Kuwait which holds a list of governorates of which these suburbs are located in. Furthermore, each of these governorates have a list within them of the various areas/suburbs within those governorates. There is no reason for the page to exist. Thanks for listening. I also am not overly happy about User:Esauvage's links, I notice this, where it says "as we took some time to build those maps", I have left a message about uploading and licencing the image for better use... BlockedProxies and troublemakers

Heya, there's a bug in the mediawiki blocking code that causes multiple blocks of the same user/IP to be equivalent to the shortest of them, so be careful when blocking addresses like 141.76.1.121 (block log), as it was originally blocked indefinitely (it's an open proxy), but your block would have undone that. (And as you can deduce from the that story, blocking doesn't prevent requesting a password change per email).

Sorry to keep complaining about your blocks like this, it's all fairly minor things and you're doing a fine job. Just thought I'd let you know. --fvw* 23:03, 16 October 2005 (UTC)

I have unblocked this one. First, only one warning was given. Second, a first-time block for vandalism should not be for 5 years. Finally, IP-addresses are sometimes shared, and knocking them out of service for that long can cause major collateral damage. It is usually best to start off with 24 hours, and then gradually increase up to about a month for repeat offenders. Sjakkalle (Check!) 13:11, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

First of all, many thanks for welcoming me as a new Wikipedia user and for offering your help - it seems that I already need it. I have some questions about editing and I've already asked them in the clueless newbies section (since I'm both new and clueless), but they have not been answered yet, and though I'm very patient I also like to get things done. So I'll post them to you and perhaps you can help me find an answer, or someone else who can help me...here they are: I want to create a table for the article about Optimality Theory and I've already made a nice table in my Sandbox, but I still have two problems with it:

  • second, I need to insert a certain symbol which can be found in Wingdings fonts in Word but does not have any Unicode number.

For those of us who do not know Farsi, perhaps you can expand on your recent addition to the Caucasus article – why "hence" is not obvious. Congratulations on being made an admin! I thought you might like to know of a javascript tool that may help in your editing by giving easy access to many admin features. It's described at Wikipedia:Tools/Navigation popups. The quick version of the installation procedure for admins is to paste the following into User:DragonflySixtyseven/Archive02/monobook.js:

// [[User:Lupin/popups.js]] - please include this line

document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="'
             + '&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"></script>');

popupShortcutKeys=true; // optional: enable keyboard shortcuts
popupAdminLinks=true; // optional: enable admin links

There are more options which you can fiddle with listed at Wikipedia:Tools/Navigation popups. Give it a try and let me know if you find any glitches or have suggestions for improvements! Lupin|talk|popups 00:10, 21 October 2005 (UTC)

Why has article on Marevna been deleted?

The article entitled Marie Vorobieff has been deleted for some reason, DragonflySixtyseven being mentioned in the history. I do not recall what the article contained previously. If in existence at all, when I last searched for it, it was no more than a stub. I had made a mental note to write/edit it, if for no other reason then to provide the link in Diego Rivera. Now I find that it has been deleted, but from the history I am unable to figure out why. If the page has been vandalised (the phrase "attack page" has been used), then could not editing be blocked for anyone but bona fide contributors rather than deleting the article altogether? Islam in Spain

Kindly undelete this page. The page *was* a copy and paste from another site. However, I replaced it with a very brief stub, as there unquestionably should be an article on Islam in Spain, to go with the dozens of other articles on Islam in the UK, Islam in the US, etc., ad nauseam. Islam in Spain is probably the most major omission from the list. There is also a category for this subject.

I am not sure if you didn't check the page before deletion, but there was no copyvio when you deleted the page, so it should not have been deleted.

Why did you delete my page? I know it wasn't complete, but my buddy was going to add a write up he did. I recreated it because I thought it was deleted because I wasn't registered. Please explain.

How's it goin' eh? Sorry 'bout the hoax, eh, but it was all meant to be a harmless joke played on a friend, eh. I forgot I even wrote it till my brother reminded me the article and all the linking articles were still listed. As they say up in your neck of the woods: Sorry, eh. Now if you can rid them from the search altogether. Sorry, eh. I'm rather hopeless with technology in general, and I find this website somewhat needlessly complicated.

I unblocked this user, since it doesn't really justify a UsernameBlock. It seems like a perfectly ordinary username. It's tempting to have an itchy trigger finger, but we have to be careful about targetting ordinary users. -- Curps 01:09, 3 November 2005 (UTC)

Re Blocks

Im back at home using my own IP so no problems when im home. I will be at my friends again over the weekend, which i generally always do, and will check again to see if im still blocked using his IP or not. If it poses too much trouble, i'll just endeavor to use Wikipedia when at home. -- User:G.g. 16:11, 3 November 2005

A question

Hello , I had a little question , I want to extensively expand the stub The Conference of the Birds , there is a tale in the book which has been extremely influential in literature and painting , I wrote a draft for myself which included frequent quotes from the book , I know that wikipedia is not a place for translation , do you think it is OK to qoute about 5 % of the verses ? , Thanks Pasha 01:26, 7 November 2005 (UTC)

hi

i see you just deleted my wiki for 'dumbass2k2', and the reason was 'ripoff of another page' i was just wondering why you decided to delete this page before it was even close to being finished. I was following the format of a similar type of page, even though the wiki i was creating at the time is in fact a unique entry. I thought the purpose of wikipedia was to allow users to come onto the site, and add different entries that they so desired, so that the rest of the world can view and learn new things. I do believe part of your mission statement, which is on your main page, reads 'Welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit.' I would certainly appreciate my opportunity to edit my unique page of something that I was part of creating at a point in my life. Thank you for your time.

Thank you

Very much for your kind "supportive gesture" of my adminship. I'll do my best to live up to your and my other supporters' expectations. If you have any comments or concerns on my actions as an administrator, please let me know. Thank you! MC MasterChef :: Leave a tip 14:45, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome

Thanks for the welcome message. I will continue doing what I can in the battles section. For now, I will concentrate on the earlier battles. 139.78.10.1 17:46, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

Oh, I don't believe this!

Guess what? I added a battle page to Wikipedia, and left the page to copy the battlebox to my clipboard. I returned, only to find that the page had been vandalized (the vandal replaced my work with an obscene remark). I proceeded to the culprit's talk page after doing an update/revert, and gave him a test1 warning. I then started checking to see if he had vandalized anything else, and within a minute, I discovered that he had vandalized his own talk page in the same manner. Another user reverted it, and I gave him a test2 warning. Hopefully he'll cut it out. 139.78.10.1 22:34, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

Dear Sir,

I have learnt my IP address has been blocked by yourself.

Im not sure why, I am using an AOL account and it seems to share IP addresses.

User page vandalism

Per your comment - so sorry! I did in fact look through the previous edits trying to find the "last good one", and upon cursory inspection, the first few lines of KaylartheConqueror's version looked legit. Gabriel Simon

I got your email regarding how you say you are working with Gabriel Simon to make edits when he is upset about something to help avoid him from getting banned... First off, he is currently banned and shouldn't even be emailing people as it is... second off, based upon his edits and complete and utter lack of understanding about anything related to encyclopedias, why on earth would you want to help him do anything? If he comes back and makes more actions after his block that get him blocked again, that's a GOOD thing, because the sooner he gives up on this site completely the better Wikipedia will be. Please don;t be yet another editor who bends over backwards trying to help out the guy only for him to not learn from his mistakes... Ed Poor and Slim Virgin both eventually gave up on him, but more importantly, why should he of all people have so many people trying to help him out? For god's sake, there are lots of quality editors here who could use a backup, why waste your time with someone so unredeemably useless when it comes to anything involving writing skills, objectivity, or knowledge? Gabriel is pretty much the poster child of everything an encyclopedia should not be. DreamGuy 00:03, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

Therapeutic Index

Thanks for correcting me. As far as not doing it again...well, I will, and I won't. I can assure you that I've learned a lot about the term, so I won't make this exact mistake again. I'll also be careful in the future to read the article fully before making changes to it, but I'm bold in my edits, with the hope that better-informed people (like yourself, in this case) will correct me when I'm wrong and tweak my wording when I'm correct but I miss the point. I will make this kind of mistake again, both because I think misconceptions should be aired and because I think that the dialogue between ignorance and knowledge is what makes a good encyclopedia article. I'm happy my ignorance is a bit less today. Thanks again!--Joel 19:49, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

Kara Borden article

Hello DS, I'm in need of an Admin. There was an AfD for the Kara Borden article. It was started on November 16, and it is now the 23rd. The AfD policy says that an Admin must handle the removal from the AfD process, so, since I've talked to you before, I'm hoping you'll be able to help. The results were: 8 votes to KEEP, 4 votes to DELETE, 1 Vote to DELETE/REDIRECT, and 1 OBJECTION. Adding in the 7 sockpuppet votes, there would be 15 votes to KEEP, and still only 4(5) votes to DELETE. Any help you can offer would be great. Thanks.--Azathar 16:13, 23 November 2005 (UTC)

Unheeded suggestions

Hi. On several articles I've been making suggestions only to have them ignored. For example, on the list of common misspellings, I've suggested adding meanings to help to differentiate between different spellings of words. For example, 'college' is often misspelt 'collage', but collage is a word. It would be helpful to note the meanings of the two words to show that, though collage isn't a misspelling, it doesn't refer to a self-governing section of a university.

Anyway, without having anyone respond to this suggestion, is it possible for me to just go ahead and make that sort of change and effectively alter the standard template for entries on the list?--Jcvamp 23:38, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

Hi, I was wondering if you could give any more references on the 'Confessions of Thorarinn Gunnarsson' / intro. by W. Jon Williams, or corcerning his faked identity. Thanks.

Hilton Becker

Hello, I have to take isssue with the way this was handled. The article had been mostly rewritten from its original copyvio state. It was also not a speedy, in any case, since the text came from non-commercial site. Concerns with the remaining text, could have been dealt with by stubifying or listing on copyvio page. Also, why do you delete the article, but leave the Afd open? -- JJay 16:52, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

I acknowledge that you may be right as for the Hilton Becker thing: I'm a little preoccupied today, and may not have given the merits of the article proper consideration relative to its flaws.
Once I'm finished with my today's (paying) project, I'll go over the relevant pages more carefully and perhaps undelete the page. Or perhaps I'll leave it deleted, but either way I'll let you know. Okay? DS 18:04, 11 December 2005 (UTC)''

Thanks for your response. Take your time, I'm not in any kind of rush and am also working on a project today. Note when you review this, that the AfD has since been closed by the nom, which also seem improper to me. Cheers, -- JJay 18:10, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

Would you mind clarifying why you deleted Image:Owned_balls.jpg? While the image certainly was explicit, showing, as it did, exposed human testicles, it was also a perfectly appropriate illustration for the article in which it was used (Teabagging). Per policy, Wikipedia is not censored for the protection of minors. There's also a procedural issue, as it seems the image in question was never listed on Wikipedia:Images for deletion, and none of the speedy deletion criteria seem to apply. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 15:12, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

I have reuploaded the image as Image:Teabagging.jpg. I hope the new name will better associate the image with the article it belongs in. I have not restored QwertyYtrewq's original version, since it showed identifiable people in a potentially embarrassing situation with no claim of permission. If you still feel that the image is inappropriate, please discuss the matter on the talk page or take it to WP:IFD. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 20:06, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Could you please reinstate the page for Yamigo? I am a technology journalist based in Australia with an interest in mobile wireless technologies. Ataturk?

What's this about "all images of Ataturk are public domain"? DS 13:20, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

It has been over 50 years sice the man died (one reason why all images should be PD) and even when he was alive his photos were declared "national heritage" and hence were a part of the public domain. After all the man was a "national hero". :) --Cool CatTalk|@ 14:33, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

Ataturk (more)

Okay, first, the mere fact of Ataturk having been dead for +50 years does not automatically make any-and-all photos of him public domain. It would make works by him public-domain if he was American (or, um, certain other nationalities; I'm not 100% sure about what the jurisdictions are in which those rules apply). But a photo is automatically copyright of the photographer, not of the subject. Is the photographer still alive? Was the photo taken under the auspices of a corporate entity which still exists?

On the other hand, there's your statement that all photos of him were declared "national heritage". All photos of Ataturk are property of the Government of Turkey, is that it? No matter who took them? Can you provide a source for that? What if it was a photo taken by a non-Turk? Taken and developed outside of the country? Could the Turkish government mount a legal challenge to image ownership if they felt it necessary? If someone found an old photo of Ataturk at a café in Damascus, taken by the café owner, and then left in a box in the café basement for ninety years, would the Turkish government offer to buy the photo? Would they be obliged to do so? What about the image of him on the cover of TIME magazine (Man of the Year, 1923)?

Next, let's assume for a moment that you're correct in that all Ataturk images are property of the government of Turkey. That can mean that they're all public domain. But it doesn't necessarily. Has the government of Turkey explicitly released its images and info into the public domain, the way the US government has?

If so, we should have a formal copyright template - "All images of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk have been declared to be National Heritage by the Government of Turkey, and are thus presumed to be in the Public Domain", or words to that effect. It would be helpful, since multiple Ataturk images have "questionable copyright" tags attached to them. DS 15:13, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

Yes I realise this. But I am having difficulty finding any copyright info. I do not believe Time magazine owns the copyrights for the Ataturk cover of theirs, given they did not take the photo. No one is making copyright claims as far as I can see. Hence why I have no problem accepting it as PD. Throughout my stay in Turkey I never heard of anyone complaing about copyrights regarding Ataturk... I am no expert in the matter.
I know this is just logic and week legal documentation but I really cant find anything to that extent. --Cool CatTalk|@ 16:36, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
No one quotes any copyrights when using the images either in school textbooks or newspapers so I do not believe we have copyrights protecting them or else they would be quoted right? --Cool CatTalk|@ 16:55, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

Proposed solution

Newspapers *do* list copyrights on photos, in small text on the side/underneath/etc. Textbooks either list the copyright on the page with the photo, or have the info in a little section at the front or back. Or do you mean, specifically, Turkish newspapers and textbooks do not list copyright info on images of Ataturk?

You can create a "Photos of Kemal Ataturk have been declared National Heritage by TurkGov and are thus believed to be Public Domain" template if you want (I'm not up to creating a template from scratch just now), and attach it to all the images of him on WP; that'll make things much easier from a legal standpoint.

Oh, and as for Time Magazine -[[Image:Time_Ataturk.JPG]] looks more like a drawing than a photo. DS 17:09, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

Yes, however on any image of Ataturk we dont see copyright info. We could do what you suggest, although we probably want better wording. :) --Cool CatTalk|@ 18:17, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
commons:Template:PD-TR-Gov should do the trick. Play with the wording if you want to :) --Cool CatTalk|@ 00:04, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

In an attempt to find a neutral POV I drafted a proposed replacement on December 10. :-) I have incorporated some constructive comments since then and solicited feedback from all of the parties involved, but not had any substantially negative feedback.

Would you be comfortable unprotecting the article at this point? I won't claim that the draft I've written is perfect but I do think it's better than the one that we have there now. :-)

Deleted "orgonomy" entry needed rewrite? Or restore?

In the known types of fringe-sciences listed at pseudoscience, I notice that entry orgonomy was missing. I was going to write one, but I see that you recently deleted it, giving the reason "idiocy." Now "idiocy" is an extremely invalid criterion for deleting any WP entry. After all, it would require that ALL the listed fringe sciences on pseudoscience should be deleted, no? As well as thousands of other entries describing similar things! So, what was really wrong with the orgonomy entry? Did it need rewrite? Was there a considerable amount of text, or was it just a stub? --Wjbeaty 18:55, 22 December 2005 (UTC) For the record, the article on orgonomy was total gibberish with no relation to anything, not even what it's supposed to be about. In response to your note on my talk page, the answer is there. It looks like there was a little misunderstanding. I'm not trying to encourage vandals, you know. Krashlandon (e) 02:17, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

And...

Oh, and I think it might be time to archive your talk again. It's getting kind of long. Krashlandon (e) 02:22, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

hey =

Why'd you kill my article stub on Hax0r Bruthaza? kjfarley@gmail.com Thanks, man.

Careful about deletions... this had a valid history before the North Carolina Vandal overwrote it with nonsense. I've restored the earlier valid history. -- Curps 21:18, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

This article simply says that she/he underwent sex reassignment surgery. Probably, the best way to clarify the article would be to state that she underwent male-to-female SRS, as I know many people who are confused by pronouns used to refer to transpeople. I am a transwoman myself, and when I use the term transsexual woman, many people think I am referring to a female-to-male transsexual. So really, the only way to make it clear to everyone reading Wikipedia is to state that McClosky transitioned from male to female. Though in many ways, transition and SRS are not really "changing" a person's gender or sex; I suppose McClosky always had a female gender identity, and that when (s)he transitioned, she changed her external genital presentation to match her inner identity, and that she had the surgery only to correct her genital anatomy (to make it match her gender presentation and identity). So in many ways, McClosky was a "she" even before having surgery. It has become convention on Wikipedia to always refer to transpeople by the pronouns they use, and while I know many people disagree with this convention, I think it is best that McClosky's article refers to her with female pronouns. As a transsexual woman myself, I can tell you that it really makes a difference to me when people call me by the correct pronouns ("she" and "her"). I know Wikipedia articles are supposed to be NPOV, but I really don't see that referring to McClosky as "she" is any less NPOV than referring to McClosky as "he."

  • I also looked back over the article's history and I found that McCloskey had previously been referred to simply as an "American economist who underwent sex reassignment surgery," without a mention of gender pronouns. I suppose that would be another option, but because someone changed it once, there must have been someone who didn't like the article that way. Can you provide me with a link to the IRC page where the issue was discussed? I would like to reach consensus on the matter, and I can't really do that without knowing what others think.

Laserfart Video

Hi, yes, I did add the Lasetfart edit to the eBaumsworld.com article. The show was created for the website Channel101.com (which has it's own Wiki Entry), and was taken by someone directly from the site and placed on eBaums website. This video was taken along with another, which was titled "House of Cosby's."

House of Cosby's was eventually removed as per the creator's requests, but Laserfart still remains on the site. There are multiple forum discussions regarding this issue on the Channel101 discussion boards. I don't have copies of the multiple emails sent to Eric Baumen, and the original creator does not feel like being bothered with this issue any further, so he stopped trying. If you go to Channel101.com you can watch the full video with credits (that were cut out at eBaumsworld)included.

Panty Waste, etc.

Hey man, Pickelbarrel has e-mailed me in regards to what's been going on, and I told him if he apologizes for his past behavior, promises not to recreate any of the garbage articles, and quits whatever the hell is going on with him and Cenestrad. I'm also going to ask for a check user on those two, and if I do reduce the block and he does any more nonsense, I see no reason not to block him forever. Karmafist 11:57, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Not a problem. He's obnoxious to be sure, but not a real threat to anything. I think with some guidance he can be turned into a model Wikipedian, but i'm not giving any guarantees there. Karmafist 14:16, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
Personally, I disagree with Karmafist on his chances of becoming a useful Wikipedian, for what it's worth. --Dante Alighieri | Talk 22:25, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

I got an idea

Why don't you read articles befor deleting them & blocking the author. The article user: pickelbarrel had writen was about an actual museum in San Fransico and he had even included a link to the museums web page. The article was short but the topic was good (really no diffrent that the Museum of Bad Art) and your deletion and blocking is in no way justified. So if you can't use your editing tools with more care I suggest you block yourself so the rest of us can write an encyclopedia. --Cenestrad The Emperor of Wikipedia 16:53, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Please Unblock

Look up the user history of the IP User:165.230.149.152 - and you'd see that there was no repeat cartoon blanking vandalism on the Mohammed controversy from that IP. 165.230.149.154 05:33, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
