 | Tip: If your making lots of small changes to a page, rather then clicking "Save page" for every change to see how it looks, Use "Show preview" between changes. When you have done editing a page for the time being, then you click "Save page". The reason for this is so you don’t make a save for every little thing you change, thus creating more revisions than necessary. For more information, ask your teacher or contact me on my talk page . |
| Tip: When you make a change to an article page, its good practice to fill out the Edit summary field. The edit summary field is a small text box above the Save Page button where you can briefly describe the changes you have made. The reason this is good practice is it tells other users what you changed without them having to view the revision. It also makes it easy to find a particuler edit in the page history should you wish to UNDO an edit or see the date of a change. |
Image permission problem with Image:Micromuscle2.gif[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:Micromuscle2.gif, which you've sourced to http://www.vetmed.wsu.edu/VAn308/muscleanimation.htm. I noticed that that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Musculoskeletal system[edit]
Have a look at the changes I've made to the musculoskeletal system page. I'm an experienced wikipedian (I'd like to think) and will gladly answer any questions you ask. One statemenet would be never use a single-level heading (i.e. always 2 equal signs for a section, not one). There's a policy somewhere, but basically it comes down to if you use only one, you screw up the table of contents and the font size is the same size as the page title. By the way, Image:Skeletalmusclecontraction.jpg is also not acceptable. It is clearly copyrighted, as shown by the presence of a copyright symbol on the lower right of the image :) I'm sorry, but finding an image through Google Image Search does not mean it is free content. You may want to read Wikipedia:Basic copyright issues and Five steps to obtain a free image. Please drop me a line if you have any questions. Its more of a free content issue. I had read that google search provides free images. Apparantly that is not the case. So I'm kind of stuck on how to use the images... --Dondevoy01 (talk) 00:16, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Hi -- I'd like to suggest that you withdraw this article from GAN to think about it a bit more. If it were titled "human musculoskeletal system", it might be close to being a "good article", but without the qualifier it is woefully lacking in basic information about the biology of the system. (And it's still marked as a stub at the bottom, by the way!) Regards, Looie496 (talk) 01:26, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

- Human musculoskeletal system now exists with the text that you've been working on. You might want to break the redirect of Musculoskeletal system and turn it into a stub with a much more general scope. It doesn't really make sense as a redirect.
