Welcome to Wikipedia from the Medicine WikiProject![edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia and WikiProject Medicine

Welcome to Wikipedia from WikiProject Medicine (also known as WPMED).

We're a group of editors who strive to improve the quality of medical articles here on Wikipedia. One of our members has noticed that you are interested in editing medical articles; it's great to have a new interested editor on board. In your wiki-voyages, a few things that may be relevant to editing Wikipedia articles are:

  • Thanks for coming aboard! We always appreciate a new editor. Feel free to leave us a message at any time on our talk page. If you are interested in joining the project yourself, there is a participant list where you can sign up. Please leave a message on the WPMED talk page if you have any problems, suggestions, would like review of an article, need suggestions for articles to edit, or would like some collaboration when editing!
  • Sourcing of medical and health-related content on Wikipedia is guided by our medical sourcing guidelines, commonly referred to as MEDRS. These guidelines typically require recent secondary sources to support information; their application is further explained here. Primary sources (case studies, case reports, research studies) are rarely used, especially if the primary sources are produced by the organisation or individual who is promoting a claim.
  • The Wikipedia community includes a wide variety of editors with different interests, skills, and knowledge. We all manage to get along through a lot of discussion that happens under the scenes and through the bold, revert, discuss editing cycle. If you encounter any problems, you can discuss them on an article's talk page or post a message on the WPMED talk page.

Feel free to drop a note on my talk page if you have any problems. I wish you all the best on your wiki voyages! Zefr (talk) 15:27, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

May 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate that you enjoy using Wikipedia, please note that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a social network. Wikipedia is not a place to socialize or write things that are not directly related to improving the encyclopedia, as you did at Talk:COVID-19 vaccine. Off-topic material may be deleted at any time. We're sorry if this message has discouraged you from editing here, but the ultimate goal of this website is to build an encyclopedia. Do not use the talk page for announcing your blog content, WP:NOTBLOG, WP:NOTFORUM. You can read the sources yourself, then make a proposal on the talk page. Zefr (talk) 15:31, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

On my talk page, you said: "At present situation world suffers a lot , the Active vaccination far away from us. So my opinion is to encourage passive immunization , i given an example for passive immunization "Human Covid-19 immunoglobulin injection" , i could not find any other alternative safe treatment other that this injection, reply me."
That's fine. Everyone is concerned and keeping track of reliable sources on developments for vaccines and treatments. You are a new Wikipedia user. You should learn first what an encyclopedia intends to contain about the pandemic, and how to edit or what to discuss on talk pages. Wikipedia is not a blog, WP:NOT. You can reply here rather than my talk page. Zefr (talk) 16:05, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia with a large amount of medical content that is supported by reputable sources, as discussed in WP:MEDRS which I recommend you read. It would be useful for you to take your time, read, and learn through various Wikipedia guides, such as these: Wikiproject Medicine tutorial for new medical editors; Wikiproject Medicine resources summary; 2017 Published review of medical content on Wikipedia; PDF for editing Wikipedia articles on Medicine and WP:MEDHOW: Useful Wikipedia tips for editing medical and general content. Editors are not here to teach new editors how to research and edit. You can get help at WP:HELP. Wikipedia does not provide medical advice; see WP:NOTADVICE. Good luck in your work, and thanks on behalf of your patients for your care. Zefr (talk) 18:33, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanq. Doctor Andrew 18:42, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Doctor Andrew: When you sign a talk page comment, please just use once, without parentheses, the four tildes, as I am doing here. Thanks. Zefr (talk) 20:41, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Human Covid-19 Immunoglobulin Injection (Vaccine). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Antiserum. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Antiserum. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. MistyGraceWhite (talk) 17:03, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Human Covid-19 Immunoglobulin Injection (Vaccine), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. – bradv🍁 18:27, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Important Notice[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

Please carefully read this information:

A community discussion has authorised the use of general sanctions for pages related to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The specific details of these sanctions are described here.

Broadly, general sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after he or she has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. This notification is meant to inform you that sanctions are authorised in these topic areas, which you have been editing. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

Request reason:

I am a physician Specifically I treats Covid-19 patients of USA No need to Promote any Injection. I am Not the proprietor of Drug company. Today Ismael announced the same medicine what ever I discussed previously "Human Covid-19 Immunoglobulins (Neutrolizing Antibodies)", the injection was developed by Indian doctors. There is no any injection in world till today for Covid-19. As per my experience and knowledge and I came to conclusion that the the above injection will work definitely for treatment of Covid-19. Israel also announced the same injection today. The same injection announced for treatment for Covid-19 by three nations in various dates. 1.India ( Dt 25/4/20) https://www.nyoooz.com/news/hyderabad/1440050/hyderabadfirm-awaits-approval-for-covid-injection-trial/ Dr Sreehari Y, chairman of MRPA Corporation, said, “We started work on the research three months ago when the first Covid-19 case was reported in China. Different procedures may be used to filter immunoglobulins from the blood” 2. USA ( Dt 1/5/20) https://www.fda.gov/vaccines-blood-biologics/investigational-new-drug-ind-or-device-exemption-ide-process-cber/recommendations-investigational-covid-19-convalescent-plasma Fda words : SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing antibody titers, if available .When measurement of neutralizing antibody titers is available, we recommend neutralizing antibody titers of at least 1:160. . 3. Israel ( Dt 5/5/20) https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/international/world-news/israel-isolates-coronavirus-antibody-in-significant-breakthrough-minister/articleshow/75548530.cms Vaccines may arrive or not no proofs , Why HIV virus not available till today ? No possibility to discover Vaccine for all viruses. The only one available treatment option is " Immunoglobulins ( Neutralizing antibodies ) , Passive Immunization Vaccine. Due to the importance of this drug , I discussed this drug. I am a scientist, physician, I have well knowledge about Covid-19 . Doctor Andrew Baldwin MD (talk) 17:51, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I find your claim of being a pulmonologist at a hospital in the US to be more than a little dubious. Your written English does not match that of an American. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I am dubious. I'll also note that Wikipedia is simply not the place for you to write about this subject matter. You have been violating WP:NOT and WP:PROMO, and I find you have indeed been pushing unproven medical treatments. Whether you are doing so for money or not is frankly not relevant at this time. Yamla (talk) 21:02, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Someone pointed out to me that you could be a foreign-born doctor practicing in the US. I have family members who are foreign-born physicians practicing in other countries. So yes, this is more than possible. However, "Andrew Baldwin" is specifically an English-sounding name, which is what lead to my comment. Regardless, it's not particularly relevant. You were blocked for your contributions which indeed are inappropriate for Wikipedia, not your name or your credentials. --Yamla (talk) 22:03, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yamla I suspect they're editing from India, based on this diff which comes from a Hyderabad located IP address (I found it sweeping Wikipedia for further mentions of MRPA Corporation). Nick (talk) 10:03, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that seems entirely plausible. --Yamla (talk) 10:10, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:Human Covid-19 Immunoglobulin Injection (Vaccine) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

pseudo-scientific and dangerous nonsense

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Sockpuppet investigation[edit]

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Doctor Andrew Baldwin MD, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
