Speedy deletion of "Paolo de vera"[edit]

A page you created, Paolo de vera, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how they are important or significant, and thus why they should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for biographies in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. L Kensington (talkcontribs) 20:11, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

November 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but in this recent edit you removed a speedy deletion tag from Paolo de vera, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. L Kensington (talkcontribs) 20:21, 22 November 2010 (UTC) [reply]

What, specifically, do you need help with? If it's the article Paolo de vera, you need to make a clear assertion of how she is a notable person; no such assertion is in the article. —C.Fred (talk) 20:33, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, instead of writing it yourself, as you did at Paolo de vera. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 20:38, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • The article on Wikipedia has been deleted. If Google has already indexed the page, it will take some time before the page is purged from the search results there. We can't control how Google indexes in situations like that (although we can specify that some pages not be indexed to begin with). —C.Fred (talk) 20:44, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
