You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:

• Create new pages and rename pages
• Edit semi-protected pages
• Upload images
• Have your own watchlist, which shows when articles you are interested in have changed

Note that in order for the first three features to be available, you must have had an account for a minimum number of days and made a minimum number of edits.

If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (Delphine bournique) is used to identify you instead.

I hope that you, as a Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. Another welcome, and some tips

Hi, Delphine, I also wanted to give you a big welcome to Wikipedia! I can see that you just got here, and are trying to find your way around. That's good, and it's a big place, so it may take you a while to get your bearings, and you may run down some blind alleys, but don't let that stop you: keep exploring; like any new place, you'll start to recognize things, and find your way around. Here are some tips, that I hope will help.

There are many different types of pages at Wikipedia; I see that you've discovered some of these already:

• article pages – these are the encyclopedia pages that we all read (these are sometimes called article space, or mainspace), such as Gender dysphoria where you made an edit
• Talk pages – such as Talk:Cisgender, where you added a comment
• User talk pages – such as this page, your User talk page
• User pages – such as your user page, User:Delphine bournique, which you could create by clicking the red link (but you don't have to; it's completely up to you)
• Wikipedia pages – these are "project pages" that describe some of the workings of Wikipedia, or offer information or help of different kinds; such as Wikipedia:Contributing to Wikipedia.

Note that each type of page is for a specific thing: all the encyclopedic articles about some topic, go on the "article pages". Discussion about how to improve an article, goes on an "article talk page"; and discussions about users, how to improve their knowledge and how to act at Wikipedia, go on User talk pages. You can create a User page to keep information useful to you, or share a bit about yourself if you wish (but it's not like a website profile, so don't make it all about you).

The Tea house and the Help desk are "Wikipedia project pages" where you can ask for help about editing Wikipedia. Or, you can ask a question here on your Talk page in a new section at the bottom of the page, and just add {{Help me}} exactly as you see it to your message, and an experienced user will be along to answer your question.
