Seven Cities[edit]

You're probably right about that one; for a while I've been thinking that there's no real potential for expansion, nor real sources. Since it used to be a redirect to another article, it could be reverted back to that previous state at any time. –Unint 21:51, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As demanded, references provided. Please remove tag. Winstonwolfe 04:27, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for the constructive source addtions. Tag removed. Decoratrix 13:56, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

obama[edit]

His father was an atheist - not a Muslim. That is well documented and we've been over it and over it. Furthermore, his father left when he was 2 years old so it is questionable what this is adding to the article, other than an obvious conclusion one might draw. Also your source is not reliable and contains incorrect "facts" such as Obama's mother's name. I'm deleting the bad source and the characterization from the top. Please see Talk and the archives on this, Thank you. Tvoz |talk 22:31, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More to the point: we have this information in the Personal Life section already. Tvoz |talk 22:38, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DYK[edit]

Updated DYK query On 30 May, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Cabriole leg, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Interesting article. Kudos! Anchoress 01:12, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dovetail[edit]

Thanks for your work on the dovetail pages. The edit summary isn't the best place for expressing a full reasoning behind a change so I just wanted to say a bit more about it. I can see what you were trying to achieve with 'seaming technique' but it's not really a term you would see used to refer to dovetails in the related literature. They belong to the classification Woodworking joints so I think it's OK as is. SilentC 01:59, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Signature[edit]

Add a </font> at the end of it, please. Otherwise, it reformats all following text as small caps. Thanks. — ዮም | (Yom) | TalkcontribsEthiopia 05:13, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've struck out part of your comment on this AfD. Specifically, the part that says "Only adverse comments below this line should be seriously considered". That is completely false, as you, nor anybody else, has the authority to rule any legitimate AfD comments to not be considered. It is completely misleading. Hope you understand. - Rjd0060 19:47, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you would like to start this article, I will support you and contribute. It seems like the other article has been taken off in another direction. I personally feel that the information about Obama's childhood should be presented here for interested readers. In my opinion the allegations of him being a secret Muslim are kind of silly -- did he become a Muslim as a child and then use drugs in high school to cover it up? It makes no sense and when people get accurate information it will only help his campaign. So please go ahead and start the article. Redddogg (talk) 21:28, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Block[edit]

You have been blocked from editing Wikipedia for a period of 1 week as a result of your disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism (including page blanking or addition of random text), spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks; and repeated, blatant violations of our policies concerning neutral point of view and biographies of living persons will not be tolerated. If this is in error, please contact me. Bearian (talk) 14:04, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} This block must certainly be an error. I have certainly performed no edit that is unsourced for biographies of living persons, nor have i received any warning. Sincerely. Decoratrix (talk) 15:34, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, you seem to have used the {{helpme}} tag to request unblocking, but that tag is generally more appropriate for questions regarding how to use, browse, or edit Wikipedia. If you haven't already, please consider using the {{unblock}} template -- {{unblock|reason to request unblocking}}. Administrators will be able to find your page and review the circumstances of your block, even if it has been reviewed. You can also discuss the situation with the blocking administrator over email, or find other administrators to email here. You can also join a Wikipedia IRC channel or use the unblock-en-l mailing list to request unblocking. Please bear in mind that most of the users responding to helpme requests are not administrators. Thank you, and good luck. --omtay38 16:00, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another administrator has unblocked you. The apparent reason for your block was that you edited the article of Barack Obama, an American candidate for President. The edit had some negative information about his voting record. Archtransit (talk) 16:39, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The worst you might say is that the edit was WP:POV and WP:OR, but the linked source puts Obama's voting record so far this year at about 50%. I have no idea whether this is unusually low or high in relation to other Senators, and I have no idea whether this is a reliable source but it doesn't seem to warrant a block without warning to me. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 16:50, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am agreeable to this resolution. Please be careful of WP:BLP. Bearian (talk) 17:42, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am truly sorry to have blocked you earlier, without a proper warning, and without your having been welcomed properly into the Wikipedian community, as I have now done. I understand that another admin has unblocked you. Please accept my apologies. Bearian (talk) 20:42, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Commiserations[edit]

This is bewildering! I am happy to see that this block was quickly lifted upon review.

Having just noticed this thread at wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive368#Requesting block review for User:Decoratrix, I feel you could have recieved more information on this at an earlier time. If this incident has upset you that is unfortunate, since it all appears a misunderstanding, and you got the short end of the stick.

I suggest you consider the incident, contact a friendly Administrator if you seek advice or want a further discussion; that is, unless your own inclination is to forget it all. Or, ignore it, since there seems no fault on your part that should have lead to the ADMIN action. Cheers Newbyguesses - Talk 01:47, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just in case anyone questioned my motives, I added links to Senator Hillary Clinton at Kate Mullany House weeks before this incident. Bearian (talk) 15:36, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
