Geetings. You might wish to read the Wikipedia:Copyright_FAQ Wikipedia Copyright Frequently Asked Questions page before uploading Myrea Pettit fairy images and using them in articles. From the Myrea Pettit and David Riche articles, I see you have a connection with the artist, and Tinkerbell_wiki.jpg appeared on a page about her, but there needs to be a license or fair use statement on the image page, releasing the image for unlimited distribution in Wikipedia. Cheers. Dethomas 03:03, 24 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • I am not a SYSOP, however, You need to post your question directly below this template in order to receive help. Please ask your question directly so the SYSOP knows what you need and can answer your question. -- Crazysane (T/C\D) 16:17, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • P.s. I'm not an admin either, but I may be able to help if you post your question. If it is an admin you need, just delete the 'tl|' part in front of the {{adminhelp}} template, and write your question beneath it. If you think your question can be assisted by a experienced user, simply replace the {{tl|adminhelp}} with {{helpme}} and post your question beneath. I am not a experienced wikipedia user , I recently added a couple of references to a page that has been good enough for a very long time without a problem to be faced with three editorial problems that never existed before? I am not sure quite what has suddenly become a problem nor how to deal with or improve this particular referencing. Everything shown is with the agreement of the living author and could be extended but the thought of so much editing I am afraid is a nightmare , do you have a qualified editorial expert to avoid these problems that would help me please

Link added to Fairy (and other articles)[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. • Apparently, all of the above is still a persistent problem with this user... Stevenmitchell (talk) 18:33, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Tinkerbell by Myrea Pettit.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Tinkerbell by Myrea Pettit.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  ★  Bigr Tex 03:23, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
