helpme

I do not object to the deletion of my article at this time. I was working with Kuru and now Syrthiss is in on it so, and I don't want to waste everyone's time. :( I have been researching concrete sources, and I haven't had a lot of luck. So, I can tell this will take a lot of work to get the occupation: virtual IT assistant or even IT assistant validated. It is my goal to make it a common term like medical assistant or dental assistant, even though they seem self explanatory - I agree that I need some backup. Am I allowed to create User:Darkbluesun/IT assistant - I think this is the sandbox space right? I promise to get this approved before moving it to articles. OK - as you've stated above that you don't mind the article being deleted, I have moved it to your userspace; it is now in User:Darkbluesun/Virtual IT Assistant. You can work on it there, and try to add references to reliable sources, etc.
For more help, you can either;
 • Leave a message on my own talk page; OR
 • Use a helpme - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put helpme, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end; OR
 • Talk to us live, with this or this.
Best wishes,  Chzz  ►  19:42, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I've just removed the (now obsolete) notices from this page. So - feel free to work on the article; please read WP:FIRST, and see the info below about how to make references. Ask for help any time you need it. Cheers,  Chzz  ►  19:44, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
P.P.S. Yes, you can create any user space pages you like; to make things easier, I've added this on your user page;

User space pages

*User:Darkbluesun/sandbox1
*User:Darkbluesun/sandbox2
*User:Darkbluesun/sandbox3
*User:Darkbluesun/sandbox4
*User:Darkbluesun/sandbox5
*IT Assistant

That has made red links to non-existent pages in your userspace; because I added it to your user page, it'll always be easy to find - just click your username at the top right of the screen. You can click the redlinks and make those pages, and you can always edit your user page and add more, or change names, etc. Hope this helps.  Chzz  ►  19:52, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How references work[edit]

Simple references[edit]

These require two parts;

a)
Chzz is 98 years old.

He likes tea.
b) A section called "References" with the special code "reflist";
References
reflist

(an existing article is likely to already have one of these sections)

To see the result of that, please look at user:chzz/demo/simpleref. Edit it, and check the code; perhaps make a test page of your own, such as user:Darkbluesun/reftest and try it out.

Named references[edit]

Chzz was born in 1837, in Footown.

Note that the second usage has a / (and no closing ref tag). This needs a reference section as above; please see user:chzz/demo/namedref to see the result.

Citation templates[edit]

You can put anything you like between , but using citation templates makes for a neat, consistent look;

Chzz has 37 Olympic medals.

Please see user:chzz/demo/citeref to see the result.

For more help and tips on that subject, see user:chzz/help/refs.

Barnstar[edit]

Thanks! Unexpected, and lovely.  Chzz  ►  16:30, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- You are most welcome, your help is much appreciated. I didn't realize how tough being a new wikipedian can be! As a reader I didn't ever fully appreciate the difficultly that comes with contributing. However, getting the right info out there is worth it. Darkbluesun (talk) 16:40, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
