Re File talk:Children in Sikoro outside Bamako, Mali.jpg. and your message "because it is meant to replace the original picture on Wikipedia commons with updated copyright information". You don't need to do that - you simply edit the existing image description, which in this case is not on the Commons. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:23, 25 March 2013 (UTC)

Fair use

Danielle, I see you are contesting some of the proposed deletions on the basis that you cannot find images that are free of copyright. There's a difficulty with this and that is that the grounds for deletion are not only that a free image cannot be found but that a free image could be created. So to take File:Mali Health Organizing Project Community Health Worker.jpg as an example, the argument is that a free image could be created; not necessarily by you and not necessarily easily but that it could be done. That Mali is currently a war zone doesn't affect this. I understand that this might be very frustrating but one of Wikipedia's aims is that as much content as possible is free so the grounds for allowing non free content are very strictly adhered to.
