Hi Dalovar, and thanks for leaving feedback. If you're a competent user of HTML, PHP and javascript, you should be able to grasp wikimarkup very quickly (there are many similarities to HTML, although the two languages are distinct). The cheatsheet is a useful list of basic commands.

Generally, using Wikipedia is a steep but short learning curve. As you say, a lot of editors struggle with the markup commands. If you have any suggestions as to how we might make things easier for new users, please put them to the community at the Village Pump, which is where new policies and proposals are discussed.
