Request reason:

I was apparently (see below) blocked by NuclearWarfare for being a sock puppet of a user named BryanFromPalatine; but I'm not he, I'm Dafydd ab Hugh, a writer from Glendale, California; my e-mail address is <email redacted>; my internet address appears to be 24.180.20.33, but I don't know if that's persistent or just what Charter Communications assigned me this time. I can give you my street address and phone number, if you like. The reason I say "apparently" blocked is that I can't even find my username or internet address on any blocked list, including any range of IAs; yet whenever I try to edit any Wikipedia page, I get the message that I'm banned from editing, blocked indefinately by NuclearWarfare, and that I don't even exist, because I'm just somebody's sock puppet. I have no idea who BryanFromPalatine is; I only know I have no connection of any kind to him. Can somebody please investigate this? Thanks. Oh, and please e-mail me at <email redacted> to let me know you received this request. Again, thanks.

Decline reason:

I see no reason why you would be unable to edit - there are no rangeblocks on your IP range, there are no autoblocks placed under your name, and you are not blocked directly. If you still can't edit, please request unblocking again using the {{unblock-ip|... or {{unblock-auto|... code provided for you in your block message. This will show us what block is affecting you so it may be cleared. I've also removed your email addresses for your security; we don't email responses in the manner you request, and posting your email address in plain text is a good way to open yourself to spammers. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

COI/AUTO[edit]

If you are Dafydd ab Hugh, you should WP:AUTO and WP:COI. If you are, we should also add {{connected contributor}} to Talk:Dafydd ab Hugh. All that being said, if you are Dafydd ab Hugh, I've thoroughly enjoyed your Star Trek books; thank you. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 15:13, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to do as you suggested; I'm not that familiar with the Wikipedia talk pages, so if I messed something up, please let me know! Thanks for the compliment anent the Trek books... and I hope you've also read some of my original, non-Trek novels! --DaH
